The girls are all cute and lovely. Definitely would want to be stuck on an island with these girls.

Very engaging story, lovable character personality, and very clean UI. I love how the story touched many parts of actually trying to live in island, even the terror. The DLC is also very good.
9.5/10 Recommended ! I just wish they have some more extra scene for DLC, but I won't complain for it since it's given for free anyway, looking forward to the next season ! There is many more that can be explored and I'm sure the scriptwriter can make it even more engaging.

[18+ VN] You are a boy drifted to an island and lost memory. Love story among 3 native residential girls. Japanese style cute anime girls, could be external 18+ DLC.

Fun read with fun characters. Like all the characters, with Kuro being my favorite but title of best girl easily goes to Momo. She's such a good girl.

This game has a share kind of happiness and sadness. The plot where basically the MC stranded on an island where there are only him and 3 other girls. Throughout the journey, they share the same kind of happiness but at the same time sadness. The relationship is pretty wholesome and even it takes short time to finish the whole game. It is one of the VN that actually enjoyable as you play it.
The design of every character is also very superb. Not gonna lie, it is pretty much mesmerizing and i like it a lot. The expression is also well-made and cute. I enjoy my time playing this game.
11/10 worth the money, also get the restoration patch in https://denpasoft.com

First time playing a Watakubi VN and I must say the production quality was top!
Can't really say anything negative really considering the high quality visuals, entertaining story line, and advanced ui/text settings. The characters all were unique in their appearance & behavior, but they mixed together very well for an overall enjoyable VN. Playtime for me (with Denpasoft dlc and listening to audios) was roughly 10-12 hours though I went at a very leisurely pace.
Definitely recommend adding this VN to your library.

Cute kinetic novel. You have ended up on a deserted island... well, not so deserted, as you later come across three girls with animal features. You need to work together to survive. Along the way, you may find yourselves getting closer. There is a patch out there that does add some explicit scenes. Decent for what it is. Suggest getting on discount though.

Island Diary is a lovely short kinetic novel about 7-8 hours long. Mechanically it's great, being 1080p and having all text forwarding options (enter/spacebar/scroll wheel/mouseclick). The only downside is not being able to go back to a scene, but honestly not a problem.
As for the story itself, you're probably wondering how much it truly is about surviving on an island. As for the answer: it's there, mostly in trying to improve living conditions. There are some gap holes, such as the heroine clothes, but whatever. It's a fun slice of life-ish visual novel foremost, with island progression as the background setting.
If that last line caught your attention, you're in luck. Why? Because the heroines are adorable, voice-acting & translation are good, and the soundtrack is solid. My personal favourite was the groovy-ish "Calm Wind". Oh, and sprites change expressions often during sentences, which is a bonus.
So as long as you're going into this thinking it's a slice of life novel - not expecting the most profound story, but just some fun adorable situations - you're bound to have a good time.
P.S - [strike]There are known bugs, such as the intro video being 1/4th of the screen.[/strike] Also: a certain thing is an exe, so you have to run it first in the folder, otherwise it won't work.
Preclaimer
- This is an Adult Visual Novel - one with a free R18 Patch (obtainable at Denpasoft's webshop) at that - designed to be R18, which is why I consider the R18 content part of the whole and will include it in this review. If for whatever reason you are not interested in this content, or aren't legally allowed to play it, just look for another game.
- Since many Visual Novels are similar in a bunch of ways, I'm gonna review this one on a few common aspects.
- This review should rather be considered to be a neutral rating than a recommendation.
Graphical & Technical Quality
Island Diary is a good looking Kinetic Novel. That is the most there is to say about it.
With it's high quality 1080p artstyle seen both on the CGs and character sprites - which are otherwise not animated (blinking, ear or mouth movement) and only change rarely within a scene - it is enjoyable to play.
Though other than that, there is not much to it. The features and corresponding settings are kept to a minimum. There is no scene jumping, neither ingame nor in the backlog, but an ingame language selector to easily switch for the three corresponding achievements is given.
Running on the KiriKiri engine the game even supports dual-language subtitles - though they easily cut off on longer lines due to lack of space. Also coming with the KiriKiri engine is the hidden advanced settings menu, half untranslated and with as little customization options as the main game.
The soundtrack is okay-ish, the translation rather weird at points, though doesn't have too many actual typos and is overall enjoyable.
And for whatever reason, the fix for some achievements and intro movie not working correctly is handed out as a "beta branch" of the game on Steam due to "ongoing testing, but seems stable anyway".
Content & Runtime
What can you ecpect from this game?
Not spoiling any actual content of the 10h long Kinetic Novel story, it is a shallow, tension-lacking, comedic Slice of Life story about our amnesic can-do-it-all protagonist stranding on a deserted island with only three Kemonomimi girls around.
These heroines have the usual stereotypical personalities with as much depth as two of them have in their chest. No one cares about background stories - no one can remember anyway - and all that matters is their happy survival trip ahead of them.
After going through that you unlock the gallery where you can reenjoy the 20 CGs - which are all vertically larger than 16:9 and hence minimally scrollable - and listen to the 12 OSTs and all that.
The R18 content
Despite being the core component of this Kinetic Novel - half of the story consists of nude CGs - basically as simple as the rest of the game.
There are 4 H-Scenes in total, 2 for every character (you can guess the math here yourself). They use excuses like our feral friends being "in heat" to exist, don't have sound effects, background moaning, choices or even much variety in the CGs at all.
When it comes to the depiction of bodily fluids, the inhuman stamina of the actors or even the intensitiy of the action as a whole, it's just "normal" in a fictional hentai sense.
Nothing more to say honestly.
Conclusion
Is this game worth is?
If you don't care about story, tension, logic or any of that and just want to enjoy cute looking Kemonomimis - go ahead, the artstyle is great and there is nothing serious anywhere to worry about.
If those things are more in your interest though, I don't think even the next Steam Sale can justify that.

Island Diary is a very relaxing and adorable read overall, featuring a cast of three sweet animal girls and the mc himself. The story isnt the most thought through on realism and stuff for example, as this is in itself a survival story on an island, but yeah you wont be getting any cool or helpful information for such an event. It is much more a calming maybe slice of life like experience and a bit of romance between the mc and the three girls. The translation and writing are both good and the art is really high quality. There arent that many CGs, but in this case it is quality over quantity.
From a technical viewpoint this is also great as it has everything a good VN needs and also has full hd art and some nice voice acting. For me reading through it all took 3-4 hours so it is quite short, however it looks like most of the other reviewers got a longer read out of it, so maybe i was just especially fast. The only thing is that it has some very minor bugs still, like the opening playing in the wrong size, but those are already fixed in the beta. The game also features bilingual text so you can try to improve your japanese for example with it :)
Overall, a pretty cute VN with a great quality, but not the most exciting or elaborate story. Simple, but fun :)
Also dont forget to download the r18 patch from denpasoft to get the most out of it.
