Coming back to this game having originally played it on the switch years ago. i was filled with nostalgia. It felt great to come back to the electro music i have missed after so long. Anyway. games great. basically cheap Forza. good bang for the buck. I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about controller support, however these issues were easily solved for me by simply enabling steam input (steam > big picture mode > gear.club unlimited 2 > controller > enable steam input).

Listen, I'm leaving it in my library, because it was laughably cheap and is not THAT bad. I cannot recommend it though, honestly. But the most important point is that I cannot recommend this version over the Switch version. I already have that game on the Nintendo Switch. I thought to myself, let's check out the Steam version, because on a PC it's supposed to look better, work better and so on. However, astonishingly, all problems with the game remain exactly the same in the Steam version as they are on the Nintendo Switch (HOW!?): - The cars look great, but environments, effects and shadows are an absolute joke (RTX 2070) - Loading times are awful (between stages, between the stage and the map etc.) (and I have the game installed on an M2 SSD!), even worse than on the Nintendo Switch (!), where loading times render this game unplayable for me... I was really expecting that issue to be resolved on a PC, because Nintendo Switch is well known for the slowest loading times ever, but apparently that was not the system's fault in this case, the game is absolutely unoptimized - The steering/handling and the driving physics are a joke in this game, and I expected it to work a bit better for me on a PC, with the analog triggers and so on, but not really, the same game, the same problems, the same awkward handling, I don't hate it, but I don't like it either - The game requires you to grind (a lot) So, basically, if it's -90% you might want to check it out, it's always something different, but it's average at best. Also, if you have it on the Switch already, the PC experience won't resolve anything for you. Same framerates, same loading times, everything is slow and awful here.
