I really like this game it's very fun. The movement is very satisfying and fluid and the system of being able to climb on everything is very fun. The gremlins themselves are very cute and it's really fun to customise them especially with the DLC. The look of the game is really nice and squishy/squelchy and the gremlins kind of look like claymation in some way. There aren't that many people playing online when I play it, but when I get into a multiplayer session it's even more fun and there is so much chaos in a fun way. Solo play is also a lot of fun, so don't let it put you off that there aren't that many players yet. The combat is tricky to begin with but personally I got used to it after a few attempts. p.s. I hope that the developers will consider adding some creatures that we can ride into the game, that seems like it would be silly and funny

this could have been a great game, but for such a simple yet COULD be fun game, it is NOT a reasonable quality of life game. HOLDING RT to stay on vines... slow movement, no double jump, but for some reason you can kinda "dash" in air... yet need a stam wheel (BotW) to climb that 1 extra inch insteafd of a 2X jump... I know my games and this HAD a potential to be a great ori game... not by a long shot now. As for me, i Just put in for a refund - unfortunately. my head does not need to hit the desk.

ive been trying to get my friends to play with me but they're addicted to other stuff already and theyre being mean to me and stuff. i'm the.keg on Discord, i'll play with you except on tue wed thu, those are my workdays. 🐄 i wanna unlock all the cosmetics in this really bad, it's a really cute game. oh can i also say, that playing without a controller is fine to me. i don't think the keyboard and mouse controls are bad at all.

Fun little game where you play as a nasty lil gremlin with friends. It does a decent job at what it is, but the performance is quite rough. The Misty Grove DLC area espicially with its strong fog effect can tank performance.

Mother Machine is an insanely cute and very very likeable cave-exploring adventure! I can't help but always get back for another run. It's main attraction are the goblin like playable characters 💖 I can't stop fiddling around with the character customization system! The gameplay itself is incredibly smooth and if you're lucky and have a fun party of 3 other players this even gets way better! 4 "goblins" running around a cave trying to get all the crystals while farting too increase help? YES PLEASE! All i can say - i really love what this team has put together and the offer where for a limited time you even get the first DLC for FREE is basically a NO-BRAINER! So do yourselves a favor and join in to please the MOTHER MACHINE 💖

While the exploring and climbing of the game is very enjoyable, the combat that is occassionally neccessary is very clunky. getting stuck between enemies without a possibility to get out or being bombarded in a boss fight without relieve quickly becomes incredibly frustrating which is a pity, I like the little colorful gremlins and their weird noises and shenanigans

There’s a lot to like here, but I can’t fully recommend it just yet—it still feels like it needs a bit more time in the oven. The art style is great, environments that blend organic cave elements and man(?)-made structures are cool to look at. There's a clear influence from Creatures and Deep Rock Galactic, maybe even some Little Big Planet—all favorites of mine. The playable gremlins have a lot of character, complete with weird little noises, as any proper creature should. Gameplay has some interesting elements—throwable and edible items with various effects, lots of interactive elements in the environment, and probably more I haven’t found yet. But despite that, movement and combat feel both clunky and floaty. After ~4 hours of playtime, expedition types seem to similar, and collectible variety is minimal (mostly just crystals and radberries so far). Unlocking new mutations feels more like a grind than a satisfying reward. Performance-wise, it's a bit disappointing. I’ve had frequent frame drops on a solid upper mid-tier PC, and online play has been shaky too—things I’d expect from an Early Access title, not a full release. Then there’s the DLC—it's priced at nearly 2/3 of the base game, and it only adds one new biome, a few mutations, and a couple new mobs/hazards. It was free for the first week, which makes the €10 price tag now feel extra strange. Still, I’m cautiously optimistic. There’s a solid core here and a lot of potential—if the devs stick with it and iron things out, I feel like this could be something special. 6.5/10 EDIT: Since the devs clearly care more about releasing overpriced DLC than fixing the base game, I'm changing my review to negative. This just isn't the way to go about things.

As a heads up, keybinds are not customizable and it's recommended to play with controller. Keyboard controls are very weird (Left click is dodge while F is attack for example) Other than that, it's a pretty simple cave diving roguelite game that can be done 1-4 players with a community hub to see other people in. Others can join in mid match unless you set it to friends only. I still find it a fun experience, don't mind the low playtime, just taking a moment to send this review out is all.

Visuals that are the child of Oddworld and Creatures. Gameplay reminiscent of Little Big Planet. Surprisingly awesome combo.
