Works perfectly with my Rift CV1, when setting OpenXR to Meta instead of SteamVR.
Using an RTX 3090, Win10, i9 10900K (10cores and 20threads), 32GB ram, and 8TB SSD.
The idea of this app isn't bad, but the story evolves way too slowly and it gets boring fast.
The puzzles are simple and repetitive, thus not much fun - and feel more like a gimmick.
The actors seem chosen by their looks, I was not impressed by the acting.
The stereoscopic mode works, but has some severe errors in specific scenes. For example when turning around in one of the first flashback scenes showing the two women talking in their living room, the 360 degrees stereoscopic mode is faulty when turning the full 360 degrees around - but works if you sit still and stare directly at the women. You'll only notice this when checking all directions of the room, especially turning 180 degrees. The error goes away when closing one eye.
The app is really just 360 degrees videos, but the res is fine, thus the need of a 20GB install size.
The low-poly puzzles and 3D assets reveal that this is a Quest port, made for extremely weak phone gpus (like the Adreno 650 phone gpu in Quest 2) - thus the app is designed for lowest of the low, and was never designed ground-up for PCVR.
All in all not a bad app, but also very far from a great app. If you love 360 degrees vids, maybe you'll enjoy this app more than I did. My rating 5.5/10 - an extremely weak recommendation and I might end up refunding.

I do recommend this experience for hardcore VR enthusiasts who enjoy cinematic experiences. While this isn't the best cinematic experience, it is better than the average Steam VR release. Plus, there is some innovative ways where VR is used, namely being able to see many different 2D screens and grab them while watching different POVs of the cinematic action.
Unfortunately, this is a rather by the numbers choices-matter (but they really don't) FMV. The puzzle gameplay elements are also uninspired, although they do flow with the story. The puzzle gameplay basically consists of either putting blocks together of different symbols (match them up) or scan different objects while manipulating time.
The rest of the experience is either viewing 360 stereoscopy scenes where no interactions take place or 180 screens in a 3D environment where you are able to interact with the screens and a few other items. It is cool to grab the screens and view them closer while the other videos are playing. Unfortunately, these portions were not 3D.
The story was okay at best. I think it was hampered by the choices matter format. You have to come up with 4 different endings, so they all feel rushed and abrupt. The alternative scenes end up just being flavor to the story. So at the end of it all, it really didn't matter what you chose. You got to the same core beats of the story ... with an abrupt ending depending on what you chose along the way.
The real disappointing part are the production values. Basic stuff like scenes being too dark / bad lighting. Or the sound mix being off. The actors weren't the best, but I can't blame them when they had so little to work with. Worst of all, the resolution is too low for PCVR. I've seen better looking 3D visuals / VR content on YT.
Rate 6/10. It's $20 USD, there should be better production values here!

A mixed bag for me.
The idea is very cool and very unique.
It's basically an interactive movie.
The ingame-scenes are very nice and it feels immersive to be there and to be able to pick up all the data you collect.
However, the cutscenes, where you only see some videos (without VR environment) are not in a good quality and completely destroy the whole immersion and everything else of the game, which is very sad.
Feels like watching some 480p videos.
Also I get a little motion sick in these cutscenes, when not standing / sitting perfectly still.
The acting is not the best, not bad, but a little bland and emotionless to be honest.
I think there was a lot of work put into here, creating this experience, so I will give this a thumbs up.
But I'm more on a neutral standpoint here.
As I said, great idea, average execution.
Would love to see more, but in real good quality.

Human Within, finally released on Steam after what felt like an eternity, absolutely delivers. This isn't just a game; it's a profound experience. The modern, almost experimental, approach to storytelling feels like a glimpse into the future of narrative in VR. The stunning blend of cutting-edge technology, breathtaking visuals, and a deeply engaging narrative creates a truly unforgettable playthrough. If you're looking for something that pushes the boundaries of VR, Human Within is a must-play.

Sounds like the most interesting VR experience. Unfortunately, the game is broken. This game doesn't support Steam Link / Steam VR. It is designed for Oculus users, yet even they struggle to launch and play the game. Every other helmet users are abandoned, which makes me wonder - why even publish this game on Steam then?
Игра поддерживает только шлема Oculus, и то через танцы с бубнами. Юзеры Pico, HTC Vive, все идут лесом.

Sadly, going to give this game a NOT RECOMMENDED rating because it simply does not run currently. I am probably going to refund it.
NOTE : The game only supports Quest headset and controllers, as stated in the game store page.
However, I tried using my Meta Quest 3 headset, and with the Quest 3 controllers. When entering the game through the Steam Link from Quest 3, the game does not detect the Quest 3 controllers.
Tried running from Steam Link, and from Virtual Desktop. From Steam Link I can enter the game, but it does not detect the Quest 3 controllers ( after I already set the settings to the settings suggested by the pinned forum thread ). From Virtual Desktop it simply opens the game in 2D screen mode, so no use there either.
Tried the suggested solutions from the forum pinned thread. ( Setting SteamVR Meta Compatibility to On, and in Quest Link set it as the default OpenXR runner.) But these steps did not resolve the issue regarding the the Quest controllers not been detected.
Since the controllers are not detected, I could not start the game, even though I am in the main game menu.
I do not recommend buying this game right now. Save yourself some headaches, either wait for the dev to come up with a solution, implementing SteamVR compatibility, or skip buying this game all together.
A pity, I LOVE FMV games, I LOVE sci-fi, cyberpunk genre, and I LOVE VR. This game looks very fascinating and interesting combining all these elements, how I wish I could play it.
