This game is cute. Gameplay is like Link's Awakening without the combat, just exploration using items you acquire to traverse new kinds of obstacles. The characters are fun though the writing could use another edit pass. There are a number of bugs and flaws that range from annoying to major - some of the issues I've had include: poor controller mapping (but works fine by assigning inputs through Steam), random crashes (probably related to the memory leaks people mention), occasional buggy behaviour (in the beach dungeon there is a spot where you have to jump over the tiles that damage you, and sometimes the landing bugs out and sends the character bouncing backwards towards a hazard), janky controls (the jump has a weird half-second lag that takes getting used to), and a system for managing the character's energy and health that feels unnecessarily punishing. I would love to see more like this, with a bit more polish/QA, because the core concept and the premise are very good! Side note for anyone reading these reviews and wondering where the NSFW DLC went: it's not on Steam anymore for some reason, but you can get the game in both SFW and NSFW versions on Itch.io for the same price.

If you're the kind of person who loves collecting collectables in games then this is definitely the game for you, however it's personally my least favorite part of games so I wouldn't recommend it for me.

Fun puzzles with 2 sweet girls to choose. Good difficulty but can be frustrating waiting for your energy to fill up. It's also very frustrating to find Nessi in the Beach and Taiga. Maybe add some sort of icon to indicate that a cutscene will happen. There's also not too much to the story but it fills its purpose for the game. It can be completed very quickly (2-3 hours). Given the low price of the game (I bought it on sale for $1 CAD) and free DLC, it's worth a try if you like Puzzle or Female Romance games.

While this is a nice little cheap game with some 8-bit music and 16-bit graphic that kind of clash with the illustrations, and the puzzles and dungeons aren't too bad, the energy bar ruins the whole experience. It's just non stop waiting just to do a simple action. Not help with the ridiculous high cost it takes to use you actions since everything costs energy. Like you have a serious of platforms to jump over then suddenly you can't jump anymore, you die and then have to start again. Or if you're smart and thought you could clear a path to beat a timer, jokes on you, all those obstacles respawned for no reason other than to mock you It's like the creator saw games with energy bars but didn't know how they worked. If the energy bar was removed, the game would be so much more tolerable.

This game looks so fun, the visuals are pretty and it's non-fetishistic Yuri, non-combat focused RPG! However, there are some issues with accessibility. Controllers don't work, it probably also wouldn't work on SteamDeck but I'm not willing to install it on there considering how bad it was on PC. A bug seems to be preventing me from using a weapon which means I can't progress as I need the weapon for some puzzles (presumably). I say presumably, because there isn't a tutorial and some of the puzzles or objectives aren't intuitive. Dev's haven't responded to my questions, so I'm assuming they're not active at this point, so I wouldn't anticipate fixes for these issues. I will try to include more details on accessibility considerations that have been met and what could be added later but I'm a bit discouraged due to the lack of early game accessibility.

Cute game with nice art and music. However, the gameplay is pretty tiring after wall. The energy bar system makes the gameplay worse than it should be and a lot of time is spent waiting for my energy to recharge to use a tool 3 times in a row which the game often demands. It's extremely frustrating to play the game because of this and it's rather clunky since key inputs are unresponsive some of the time. There's multiple endings to the game but the gameplay is too tedious to want to try to get any other endings.

Much more of a puzzle game than a VN, but I had fun! Emmaline, my love... It's cheap, and I liked the story, characters, puzzles, and CGs, so I'd say it's worth the price.

Hey there, first review! Lets get to it: To start off, I'd like to say I've found Dreams of an Exile quite charming and I'm a little surprised it doesn't have more of a following. It's nothing mind-blowing but rather a cute little rpg maker puzzle game without any sort of (often tedious) battle elements one might expect when stumbling upon something like this. Dreams of Exile is reliant on terrain puzzles, vaguely reminiscent of older Zelda titles with some occasionally timed 2-D platforming to keep you on your toes. The puzzles themselves are pretty simple BUT it still took a simpleton like me a bit of time to understand which thing did what and when I should use something. Even then, the game itself is pretty forgiving. The music is genuinely quite good! I really dig the main menu tune, seriously. I'm a huge fan of the art shown throughout the game as well, shout out to the artist! Really gives the game so much of it's character. The interactions and relationships between the girls is super cute too <3 My only 'cons' to mention are the fact that I managed to do a step or two out of order I'm assuming and it rendered me unable to speak with a specific NPC. I've brought this up in the bug discussion thread so the devs are now aware. Other than that, the game has run fine and well for me. As of writing this I still haven't finished the entire game but all in all I've very much enjoyed my time spent and felt it easily worth the $2.99 price. I'd definitely recommend to at least try it out! (Side note: I appreciate that the NSFW content being free DLC rather than part of the main game. Its there if you want it, and isn't if you don't!)

Not a bad concept. I like the idea of jrpg styled game without battles (JRPG battles can be tedius). Controls can feel floaty and not precise at time. Great music, ok level design, great art style. It's 2 dollars, can't really complain too much. Short and sweet. Free NSFW Dlc if you like that kind of thing. Pros: Cute Lesbians, casual gameplay, cool music and art Cons: The game sometimes has a memory leak issue and uses 6-8 gb of ram.
