Odd how addictive it can be to try and finish all dungeons

Played it about as long as I could stomach. Nuff Said. Go Play Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 & 2.

Bought game when it shipped. Critical error causes co-op client to crash every zone transition around the time you get the quest to obtain the hookshot.
Maybe it's good for solo plays, but don't bother if you wanted to do co-op.

I have enjoyed this game for what it is - a great single player action RPG. I bought it on discount and would highly recommend it - It has nice writing and interesting dungeons. I'm not finished the game yet, but I enjoy it. I played it on my steam deck with few problems. It was an excellent sale purchase!

I found this to be the best Hammerwatch there is, its not a roguelike, it is a campaign, it has a story.
If you like oldschool hard quests to figure out, this is the game for you, you need to backtrack and look at things and explore things, and read the actual quest log, there is no arrows pointing you to where you have to go and what you need to do, really a rewarding experience.
Day and night cycles can at times be a bit annoying but you just run around and explore or sleep at an inn to pass the time, its not a huge problem.
Enchanting and crafting could be a little bit better, but its a solid enough idea, and it encourages you to make food buffs if nothing else. Crafting armours and the likes from scratch is rarely worth it however.
Most of the bosses are pretty hard and fun which is good.
It really hits that spot of having to read into what things mean and explore MUCH further than you think at times to figure out a clue to what something can be used for or how to find it.
You can respec at any time granted you have the gold.
Some sidequests even has a hidden timer on them, not too big of a deal, but it rarely says if it has one, which isnt optimal.
Some classes are not super well built, while others are powerhouses, i suppose that doesnt differ from most games.
The biggest selling point is that the game offers a certain difficulty in combat and how to solve quests without being completely unfair about it, playing with a friend or more is fun.
I understand why many dont like game this but then again there arent many games like this around.
I would really wish the game had a second campaign, balancing class skills a lot more reason and depth to crafting.
At 25€ its a steep price, i would say get it on sale, it needs much more overall tlc if they want that kind of money.

Do I recommend this game? Yes and no.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of the Hammerwatch series, games like this have great potential.
BUT regarding the negative reviews, I’d say these players don’t enjoy a long-term RPG journey—they just want a hack-and-slash experience like in rogue-like games.
The devs opened up the workshop, which was like a holy grail for this game style.
And guess what? Those players' comments ruined the game, and the devs gave up.
That's how this game ended.
