It's worth it just for the vibe and atmosphere
The game is short, sweet, and to the point. Each ending goes by quick and while there are some flaws there are also some great parts of the game. Given this you would think it's a mixed bag but I think it's well worth the measly $6 they're charging. They're here to bring you a feeling and they succeed in my opinion.
The Good:
+The art style is cool. Unfortunately most of the time you're seeing most of the same art repeated over and over but that is to be expected from a game this cheap and plus the art is nice.
+The Music! My god is it good! The soundtrack fits the atmosphere the game is trying to envoke and I love each track I heard. I really really wish there was some way to get my hands on it whether that be through YouTube, Steam, or Spotify. It's a shame that I need to boot the game up just to hear it.
+The Voice Acting. This one may be a bit iffy to some but I think the voice acting from Susanna Tikkanen is fine. It's not the best I have ever heard but I think it's servicable and at times it's pretty damn good. Particularly in the scene where Nina talks about being stalked. Her fear is portrayed really well and you can feel Nina's desperation for the authorities to catch the stalker. The phone calls were another highlight of the voice acting.
+The length of each run. Like I mentioned before it's short, sweet, and to the point. No wasting your time by having the scenes be long and drawn out (not that I wouldn't mind having some scenes be longer).
The Bad:
-No audio leveling thing in the settings. The settings themselves don't exist for some reason and so there isn't a way to change the audio level which is a shame because as great as the soundtrack is I don't think having it blast into my ears is a good thing. If you want to lower it then you'll have to do so manually by changing your PC's audio level.
-The endings. I don't have much problem with the endings themselves, they're fine. What bothers me is the naming of them. I don't quite get why some are ugly and others are bad. What makes them different? I'm also confused as to how you get some of them. In the later half of me playing the game where I had half the endings completed I started just doing dark choices all the time and it gave me different endings. Towards the end when I had 3 endings left I still kept doing that and it didn't repeat any endings for me. Was that on purpose? Were the endings given to you no matter the choice because it felt like at times the game was going to give me an ending that i didn't have no matter the choices I made. Maybe that's just a feeling I had, idk.
-There was one scene in Act 2 (I can't remember which one it was, sorry) where the interviewer Ethan asks you if everything is alright and you have the option to say yes or no. I picked no the first time I got this scene and Nina talked about how her sister recently passed and it was a nice bit of characterization for Nina. After I got the scene again I picked yes and I.....still got Nina talking about her sister? Besides a line or two of dialogue before the sister convo there wasn't much difference between the two. This stuck out to me because it just feels strange that your choice doesn't actually matter in this scene (at least I don't think so, maybe this affects which ending you get). I didn't run into that again so I'm guessing this is a one time deal for this scene specfically.
I have one more thing to say about the ending. It feels like Ending G is purposefully saved for last given its contents. If I'm wrong and someone can say that it can happen at any time then please tell me and I'll delete this bit.
That's all. It took me a little less than 2 hours to beat which means that unfortunately there's going to be someone who plays this, beats it, and then refunds it. That's a shame because this game does present a unique vision and I think that getting it for $6 is a fair deal. All in all, I would recommend this one. It's a gem for sure.

As someone who hasn't really played many visual novel games I was a bit apprehensive at first but was sold on the art style before I bought the game.
Now after having spent the last 2 hours getting all the endings I have to say I absolutely loved the game start to finish.
The art and music are both amazing and fit the game perfectly and the stories for the most part are great as well despite getting a little repetitive when hunting all the endings down.
It's always a pleasant surprise finding a game you vibe with so well and I hope to see more like this from Convict games in the future.
one of my favourite games this year

Perplexing and disjointed, but deliberately so
I'm not certain if the the game being primarily comprised of randomized, short routes helps to establish a narrative, but it does provide a sense of coercion and choicelessness, so maybe it works?

I don’t play visual novels, and I wouldn’t have touched this one… except it’s called BURN, and my name is Burn. Had to. It’s got style, the soundtrack is nice, and I can see why people like it. But visual novels just aren’t for me, and the story felt a bit all over the place. Still, 16 endings later, I can say I played a game named after me. Worth it for that alone. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3423727608 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3416800150 Unlocked all achievements!
