Assuming Filmstorm is a rather small studio, they are punching well above their weight, Motion Studio feels polished and smooth despite being EA . Definitely recommend it, it is worth it's salt and more. I woul've considered buying their Motion Matching only if there was any clue hinting at backwards movement, entire 10 minute video showcasing the system revolves around forward movements so I don't know if it can do backwards movement or not. Maybe this is a completely uneducated perception, I'm an artist I have no idea how motion matching actually works, so maybe you can actually make backward move using that system asset. Nonetheless it's a brilliant effort from Film Storm, after all when you think about it motion matching and beyond systems like phased function neural networks for movement, you know death stranding movement system, these kind of systems are the holy grail of independent game animation.

Year without updates for Early Access Software. Seems like abandoned...

Keeping an eye on this. Looking forward to more motions being added to the library.

While the included animations are a good quality, it has been over a year since the last update with nearly no communication. A couple of "things are coming soon" like posts but no actual updates or added animations nor bug fixes. And it has been months since those posts were made with requests for information being ignored. The company has a library of existing animations but even these have not been added, never mind new ones. Update: I have been complaining about the lack of updates and communication in the discussion area. I have now been "permanently banned from the discussions due to disruptive comments in forums" Update 2: Not only do I not recommend this product, I'm am so upset with how they have been handling any negative comments (not just mine but anyone complaining the forums/discussions) by deleting them and banning those that do, that I am pretty much making it my life's mission to let everyone know how bad a company it is and that I consider this a scam UPDATE 3: The reason that I was banned from the forums in their own words. You have been banned from Motion Studio Community Hub by a Motion Studio developer for your post in "Motion Studio General Discussions": It has been well over a year since any updates. There were a number of posts and threads requesting an update and showing customer dissatisfaction with the lack of software updates and lack of communication from the devs. These have now all been removed. And still no software update as promised and no communication. Ban Reason: Disruptive comments in forums While this ban is active, you will not be able to post or comment in the Motion Studio Community Hub or upload new content to this community hub. If you believe this ban was issued by mistake, please contact Steam Support. This is a permanent ban. Basically, I was banned for pointing out that they haven't kept their promises for over a year and were deleting any post complaining about it.

Old Review: Really promising software, devs are very responsive to bug reports. Very excited to see the direction this software is going in. 2024: The software is completely abandoned, the devs seems to start developing apps and abandon them shortly after. I was really hoping it would go somewhere with the ability to tweak animations but sadly there hasn't been an update in 2 years.

The animations are great. I made the mistake of not reading the description entirely as I thought this software would allow you to make your own animations.

No updates since October and while they say there will be upcoming updates, there is no clear answer on when that will be. Who knows if that's the truth but it would help to be more communicative and transparent.

I was incredibly patient with the company waiting for promised updates with no transparency from them at all. Nothing has been delivered.

Had a look at this software and it is nice though very simplistic. Would have been great if we can import our own animations to link to the 3D models. I see that this is a feature that is currently in development so it will be great to see this happens sooner rather than later.

Promised features and sooner updated never get to deliver. Dev team can't give clear answer to any of our questions and Im getting this software uninstalled and requesting refund from steam. Also for anyone who thinks about buying this software, Don't!!!, its not worth wasting $50 on this I promise.
