I bought this game out of pure boredom... But, I really enjoy playing it when I dont have anything else to do. Sure the things you can do are limited but it does let time pass by quikly. :))

Worse, this intellectual property violation was done in an attempt to profit from their illicit actions. Why is this permitted on Steam? The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Highway Racer" is just a low poly top down auto runner/driving arcade game template, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Cristian Manolachi/Atomic Fabrik. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Half the time i play my money disappears. i understand that using nitro uses money (which is retarded) but goddamn i swear it disappears even when you dont use nitro

Its a neat little game but it should have a mute button; seeing as someone can watch youtube and play this at the same time. Also, more maps would be interesting; like a tropical map.

Highway Traffic Racer Positives: + Acceptable graphics + Fun for a short amont of time + Different camera angles + Ok handling Negatives: - Get very repetitive and boring too fast - Way too expensive cars to buy - Not enough variation on levels - No music and horrible engine sound - Two of the game modes makes no sense - No traffic changing lanes or turnes on the road - If you have basic drive skills, you can drive forever without crashing..... Total Score: 3/10

i would say that if you want to play this game and have fun you need to have a-lot of free time and patients because this game is pretty frustrating when you lose cash

7/25/21: EDIT: Money is no longer properly saved and is even deducted after a race, so I couldn't earn anything after the second car. Going to flip to not recommending unless that's fixed. I got this game for $1.09 USD in a bundle. What did I get? A decent port with a lot of fun under the hood, It follows the pattern of a lot of racers. You start off with a basic car and one road. As there's really no real "race" here, you get points for near misses, combos, distance, etc. After your first drive or so you should have enough to at least get another road, paint job or both. It takes about half an hour with luck to unlock all of the roads and paint your car and wheels. I say with luck, because this game has a habit of losing your winnings, sometimes thousands of dollars worth. After that, it's the same wall of grind if you want better cars. The cars seem a bit overpriced as they don't unlock new roads or music or anything, but I have a feeling this was one of those pay to play apps. Overall, I love driving in the rain. And you can have the camera behind, in or above your car, so not bad. I just wish the snow level had actual snowfall. But it's surprisingly addictive, even with the simpler graphics.

This game actually is not as bad as it may seem to be on first notice. While one can't honestly call this a true racing game in comparison to games from the Colin or Gear series for example, it does pretty much remind me of conversions of great Arcade racers down to Tiger handhelds back in the 80s and 90s. In this game you go straight. No curves no nothing, though you can choose from a handfull of different modes and tracks you have to unlock. You also can unlock a decent amount of cars and can even improve the ones you got plus the opportunity to colorize them as you wish. So there is quite a bit of longevity to this title. As I said in the beginning, just don't think of it as a racing game. Instead think of it as a nice and easy arcade challenge. Especially when you are not gaming at home and may not even have a controller handy aside (imagine like being on a train for e.g.) you can have some fun over a longer period of time with this having enough rewards ingame to come back. Why not buy it on a sale for a few cents?

Well. . .The game is actually better that what I expected. So thumbs-up! BUT it rapidly just feels like the Friday drive to the cottage. Except that on the Friday, you get to enjoy the cottage at the end of the road! Here? With no real objectives, no achievements, no leaderboards, nothing, you quickly start wondering "why am I playing this exactly?!" So, clearly some more work needs to be done here. But the good news is that what needs to be added is the easiest part: A simple leaderboard to compare how we're doing with friends (and brag). + A few achievements, or some level of purpose-in-life, or objectives. . .and that's it!! Otherwise the driving simulation aspect is well-done and somewhat realistic, even with a keyboard. And the choices of road types, cars, etc., is good enough already! So all this road-trip is needing, really, is a clear destination!
