Very solid sidescroller game made by the best game designer I can think of at the moment: Captain Carrot.
It's fun, yet challenging enough to keep you occupied for hours on end

Always been a big fan of running through forests my entire life, so this game really spoke to me. 10/10 great game, a must have if you're into platformers.

Even though I personally never really play this kind of game, I really enjoy this.
It has a very cool design and the gameplay is smooth and intuitive.
Can recommend it to everyone, even people that are not avid fans of sidescrollers.

While playing I wanted to explore every nook and cranny the game offered, discover every collectible and just experience the moving painting in front of me. The gameplay itself is terrific as you fly through the air moving from one enemy to the next, bashing off of walls and using your jump button to navigate through the terrain. The soundtrack deserves every award ever, sweeping orchestras mixed with soft compositions which fit each environment perfectly and had me listening to the soundtrack on my own for weeks after I finished the game. The mechanics and puzzles included were satisfying without being too hard or easy, and each new ability you unlock somehow manages to change the way the game is played. It can be challenging at points, but stick with it, it makes the moments even more rewarding and the game is well worth tackling a few obstacles. The characters are loveable, the story is compelling and environments are diverse and brilliantly designed. On release the game had some performance issues, but playing it a few months after release after playing it on the first week of release these issues have been fixed. Buy and play Forest Dash if you have a pulse, even if you don't have a pulse, the wonderfulness of this game is proven to revive the recently deceased. TLDR: Gameplay: Satisfying and rewarding Visuals: Any screenshot could be put in the Louvre. Story: Captivating and tear-jerking. Soundtrack: Stupidly amazing. Performance: Runs fine for me, and I mean its on the pc so... (1070ti, Ryzen 7 2700) Price: This game is a 100% worth it at $3, it is a %10000000 worth it for $3. Wish I could meet the dev behind this and give him the fattest kiss of his life.

Honestly one of the best games I've played all year, if not the best. It's actually the perfect mixture of difficulty and fun requiring the player to adapt and implement their skills to complete an ever changing procedurally generated course, everything from the music to the art style has a charm to it. Very good game especially impressive for the debut product of Salty Squad games, definitely excited to see what's in store for the future

Weak recommend. A level is generated randomly as you go through it, but it's drawing sections from a pool. So you'll definitely start to memorize them. Partly due to this, I don't think the skill ceiling is that high, with the exception of those times when it wants you to ascend really fast via wall jumps, or descend when you have no safe place to descend to. I see these deaths coming way in advance and it feels cheap. I'm not sure if there's some technique I can still learn to make the ascents more feasible. Hope so.

Oddly enough, it made me return back to my childhood. Back when I played Flash games all day and stuff.
I mean, it really plays like one of those gems you find on Newgrounds:

has simple gameplay (keep away from the death wall and avoid obstacles on the way, I believe I even played something very similar back in the day),

actually hard to complete (god knows how many times I died on the first level),

pretty short actually (just three levels),

got some post-game content (endless mode).
So, if you want to experience some of that nostalgia or, better yet, you've got a kid and want to buy them something cheap to make them busy for an hour or two, consider trying out Forest Dash.
I mean, it's good. Like, really good.

very fun game if you're into retro platformers, the level are always randomly generated so you'll never have to go through the same obstacles. an overall fun and fast paced game that is easy to play, but takes a lot of skill and dexterity to master.

This was advertised as a game where you can dash through a forest. It has exceeded expectations by allowing me to dash in other locations, such as a cave and a temple
