I like this game. Its a cool sandbox style city designer. I like how you can blend different building styles together and redesign Paris. Overall I like it and cant wait for future updates.

It's the perfect place to let your creative juices flow. However it would be advised to set goals for yourself, TAP does not have any quests or story lines to keep you engaged, so effectively it's the same as playing sim city in "God Mode"... Total freedom so you might get board if you rush into things. But it is amazing none the less.

This is a super interesting tech demo of how to build out Paris in your own liking. The plot editor is genius and quite fun.
Very practical things I wish for:
- Ultrawide support
- Ways to alter the main accent colors of a building
- Et tu, beton brut? (Let's get a Brutalism set of buildings - or many sets! Think of the 'gram!)
- More goals and 'gameyness' (? - do I actually want this?)

I tried hard to like this game.
Architecture as a game, what a great idea I thought.
I was hoping to be able to create designs for building to be place next to all these Parisian iconic buildings.
Maybe modern maybe in the old style. Just like an architect ans just like what it states on the tin.
But in the end it is picking a spot and selecting a pre-fabricated structure and then placing it into the available spot.
Maybe combining a couple of pre-fabs and changing some colours, but that is about it.
This has not really anything to do with architecture and creativity.
It is just picking someone else's design out of a drawer.
Basically exactly what often bad architects are criticised for; just picking something out of the drawer, not creating anything specific for the task at hand.
As I said, I really tried to like the game and had high hopes.
Unfortunately in the end it did not deliver, not even close...
All of you out there, if you think this has anything to do with architecture then you will be disappointed.

Overall the game is quite interesting and unlike a lot of other city building games. Rather than focusing on the systemic qualities, like education and water pipes to buildings, the Architect focuses its game play on shaping the overall structure of the urban space. Players can work block by block to redevelop parts of the city of Paris into new forms, including green buildings, parks, and other building forms.
I think that at its current state as an Early Access Game, its quite an enjoyable experience. If you enjoy making cities look good by shaping the styles and shapes of them, then this could be the game for you. I think that there are some downsides to the product, such as a lack of styles and currently a limited amount of customization at your disposal. It sounds like the developers have more in plan so I if you're not interested in this product right now, I suggest simply waiting for future updates.

I would definitely not recommend this game due to the following issues:
Technical: The game initially ran very good on my gaming computer, however, it now lags beyond any playability. I am unsure if this is due to a developer, Steam, or Windows update, but is nonetheless unacceptable.
Content: The developers promised to continually update the game with additional content. This has not happened. There are also absolutely no Steam Workshop content for the game.
This lack of updates and user-created content would be tolerable if the game itself has sufficient content. One would think that with such a narrow scope for the game - one that simply allows you to redesign the architecture of Paris - that this shouldn't be a problem. It would be merely a case of the developers placing as many building textures into the game as possible - the game engine simply pastes these different textures on the 3D building shapes you specify. However, impressively, the developers seems to have fallen short on that too.
I cannot describe the library of different buildings styles as anything but disappointing. The range of styles is very limited, with many styles being very crudely rehashed into visually disagreeable versions to artificially bulk up the library. Typically, for each architectural style (e.g. Haussmann, Brooklyn, Amsterdam) there is a "People" version with a random hodge-podge of different coloured panels, a "Planet" version with wooden panels and preposterously misplaced Savonius wind turbines, and a "Profit" version that is has just painted all black, as painting a building black somehow makes it more profitable in this world...
There is absolutely no provisions to modify any of the colours or textures of the buildings. You can only very basically change the 3D shape and insert "Accents", which are basically just windows that jut out of the walls. While I'm have virtually zero experience in game programming, I am certain a simple colour filter system for the textures would have been very easy to implement.
You are also in no way allowed to have more than one façade texture on any building, say, if you want the ground floor to be cafes and shops, and the floors above apartments. Only two designs in the entire library - Haussmann and HLM 2 allow you to do that. The travesty in that - alongside limiting design variation - is that Paris and most European cities are based on such mixed-use vertically-zoned building designs!
In summary, I would think very hard about downloading and playing this game if it was completely free, and I would then probably decide not to bother. Certainly not worth the price-tag, even if that price-tag was free.

The game is a great tool that really meets its expectations about creating your own Paris. You can customise every building except landmarks to pretty much whatever you want. Surround the Notre Dame with wasteland or a massive park or some monolithic tower. This part of the game is great and its really enjoyable if you like architecture or just hate Paris and want to vandalise the city.
At the moment the game is not really a city builder as there is no real strategy, goal, limitations like money etc but when looking at the roadmap, listening to what the developers have said and the different categories of architecture (people, profit, planet) it seems that there will be a strategy element eventually.
If you're looking for city management and strategy, this isn't the game for you at the moment, but if you like architecture and shaping the urban landscape, it is.

This is a game that I was really excited about, then slightly concerned about when they removed the management side of it completely. But of course you have to try the game out, right?
And after playing for roughly 1,5h, i can say that my concerns was valid. As i play alot of city builders, tycoons and management games i was hoping this would be somewhere in there, i would call it neither.
Firstly there are no economy, no cash, everything you do has no cost, its free, like a sandbox. And the changes you do, does not impact on anything, because there is nothing to impact on. No happiness, no welfare, no nothing. And thats the thing that bothers me the most. While playing i often wondered "Why?" - "Why am i doing this?", it dosen´t matter.
You unlock the districts by pressing a button, there are no requirements, so if you want to unlock them all at once feel free to do so. But then why do i have to "unlock" them if there is no effort?
The game looks beautiful, i just wished it had the management. As it stands right now, this game has no goal, no objectives. And i'm sad to say, but to me it makes it no fun. I would have liked it if the districts had some requirements before unlocking the next one. Increase the happiness of the residents by building more homes, shops, parks, parking, schools, healthcare etc..
I understand that this is the game the developers want to make and i respect their decision.
It's a beautiful game, and if you like building in sandbox with no goals more than to look at what you just done then this game might be for you. But if you are like me and like the management side of it, this is not the game.
