After first session I can say that Veggies is a good game.
Control is very intuitive. Graphic is ok.
It seems to be a great thing to play with firend in co-op. I have to try this.

If you want a game with ridiculous characters and horrifying death screams for some suicidal vegetables, just buy the game.

I'm after first hour with that game and it pretends to be a great fun :D Easy on the eyes animations and very nice sound effects.
There are less and less such enjoyable games. At the moment 5/5 :)

Do you like stealth games but aren't very good at them ? Do you really like to make big explosions when you run out of stealthy moves ? Do you always eat your greens ? Then this is the game for you.
The campaign is currently quite short but its early access so more content is planned. For the current price it's great value plus for the next 30 days the devs are giving 100% of their proceeds to the Support Ukraine charity which is very good of them.
Also it's very funny, reminds me quite a bit of bro force but with vegetables.

As an experienced longtime player I can say that for me Kamikaze Veggies was one of the most anticipated puzzle games of 2022. And I was not disappointed. The game is full of logical puzzles combined with unique gameplay and amazing music that makes the time spent in the game even more enjoyable. The veggie game is very surprising and makes you think what would happen if the world was suddenly ruled by vegetables.
Is this game worth playing? Definitely it is.
Plan your moves in advance and then react quickly to the threats lurking at each step! So what are you waiting for? Become a veggie soldier and save the world - but be careful because in this game "wrong move means death".
The whole game is truly a standout experience and I hope to see the talented developers of Red Limb Studio come back with next productions.

I only have an hour into the game, but know that I'll enjoy it. Good news for Linux users (and likely Steam Deck) since it's made in Unity, it worked out of the box with Proton. No issues at all.
Even the tutorial doesn't given you a 3/3 stars by just completing the main objectives, they went and hid secrets there too. That set the tone for the next two levels where I wanted to search every nook and cranny. Puzzles were kid friendly and my daughter was able to figure them out while we played along.
Only issues is there are some likely UI improvements to be made. For example, you have to choose a crew (loadout) for each level. I thought I was just choosing one character and wanted to click start. It didn't prompt me that I had to choose more. Some of the control queues and prompt during the tutorial could also be improved. The orange text blends with the sand colors, so I didn't even see them and figured things out just by my previous knowledge of games and common control schemes.

My Experience
I picked this up a while ago to play with a friend using Steam's Remote Play Together feature. We found the concept of the game to be amusing and appreciated it's visual style. After we got started, we were treated to a narrator doing a half-decent Morgan Freeman and a drill sergeant doing his best R. Lee Ermey.
The way that Kamikaze Veggies plays is as follows: you'll first pick a mission, and then you're given the opportunity to purchase a number of uses of each of the characters you have unlocked. More powerful characters cost more of your mission budget. For instance, at the beginning of the game you only have access to the carrot character. For one of the first missions, you have enough mission budget to perhaps purchase three uses of the carrot character. You'll deploy with your first carrot and do as many of the mission objectives as you can before it is killed. Upon death, you'll spawn in as the second carrot you purchased. If you haven't completed the mission by the time your third carrot perishes, you'll fail. The second character I recall unlocking was the pea character. You can then alternate with your selections if you wish. For instance, first spawning in as a carrot, then a pea, then a carrot again.
There are a few complicating factors here. First of all, you'll sometimes need to activate an ability that kills your character (usually creating an explosion) to progress in a level. This cuts down on how much leeway you have with your character lives in each level. However, in my experience, no matter what character you pick you're going to be relatively ineffective at dealing with the game's enemies. This means that you'll need to rely on stealth, and this system is not very good. Enemies seem to either be aware of you or not, without much in between. In addition, the physical layout of the levels makes it challenging to see if there is an enemy around the corner. You can find grenades from time to time to help you deal with enemies, but I didn't find these regularly enough to mitigate the aforementioned frustrations.
For myself and my co-op partner, the game involved a lot of running away from enemies to reset their awareness and exclaiming, "I wish I would've known that we would need to blow this up. I would've picked our characters (or the order of our characters) differently." The biggest thing that would improve the game, in my opinion, is perhaps giving the players a drone that they can use to scout out the map before picking their characters or spawning in. What enemies are present, and in what layout? Where are the objectives, and will they require my vegetables to sacrifice themselves in order to complete them?
Although I applaud developer Red Limb Studio for bringing something fresh into the gaming space, we only did a handful of missions before deciding to move on to something else.

I was looking forward for this game. I really like games form independent developers - those games have charm, simplisity, little bit of crazy idea and fun. Srsly Kamikaze Veggies who could think about that?! The world created has its story and very interesting concept for gameplay. Game drops us on various levels where we need to destroy technology and weapons of our enemy, but before we do this we need to solve a lot of puzzles wich involves some thinking, fighting and interaction with enviroment. For each level you can choose between different characters, which have different abilities and you unlock them by getting more score in every level. There are hidden collectibles on each level wich you need to find to get more points. The level design is very good - on the beginning you have not very difficult areas where you are getting know the controls and rules, and later you get more complex levels which require more imagination from the player. The graphic is beautiful at its own way - there is no new technologies but game works smooth and has this charming and crazy design that I mentioned earlier. I really recomend this game. Espesialy for its cost - you get a lot of fun for very low price. I will defienetly come back to this game to max out score in every level. Oh I forgot to mention that there is local co-op for two players!!!

Just bought it today, and oh man, I really like it. Super enjoyable.
Disclaimer:
I have only played like the first 4 levels, I will probably adapt the review if somethings not right here anymore.
Pros:
- Nice Visuals
- Funny Story
- Fun To Play
- Good Movement Controls
- Coop (I still must try it with an actual friend tho, if I find one at least…)
- Super Nice Kamikaze Game Concept
- ~FUNKY~ ~MAIN~ ~THEME~
- Controller Support (tho I still prefer to play on keyboard, but you can play with a friend that way)
- Just Released as early-access(so cons could probably disappear after a while)
Cons:
- UI feels really rough
- Music when there's no "combat" fells very unfitting (See disclaimer tho, maybe it's not the same for every level)->A "stealthy" kind of music would be a nice addition, the chilling music only feels nice when there really is no enemy near you.
- The death sounds of the (at least the little tomato enemies (melee tropers)) have become kind of annoying.
Worth the money? ABSOLUTELY YES, A KEBAB COSTS MORE AT SOME RESTAURANTS!
It seems like I really enjoy this game, I am very glad I whish-listed it when I saw a show-off of it on r/Unity3D or something.
