I liked it but I do agree with the other reviews saying that the time mechanic holds the game back. It feels like there's more to see but I was able to find the killer on my first playthrough and since nothing carries over to the second one I just don't feel like I can be bothered. It's also a bit disappointing that there's so much world-building going on in the game when in the end it seemed like very little of it ended up mattering in terms of identifying the killer (that is to say that most of the details are simply red herrings). I know this review sounds negative but this game is super interesting and there's a lot of attention to detail so I'd still recommend picking it up.

I was actually quite enjoying the mind surfing, the questioning of suspects, piecing together what the doors were trying to say or not say and the mystery of the game. However, the time mechanic just doesn't mesh at all. For me, I figured out who the killer was on day 3 and could puzzle out what had happened, but because MC hadn't and I couldn't know where the clues to give the character this information was without testing every random box and warranting everyone I had a very odd ending where I did arrest the killer, but MC was pretty much entirely unprepared to argue why they were the killer (even though I could personally articulate the details of the entire case, the prompts to do just weren't there for MC). The journey was pretty good, but the ending just didn't sit right because of what happened in my case. I wish there was a more neutral option for reviews, but for now if I'm forced between recommending and not recommending, then it's a no at full price, but yes on getting it on sale.
