A short, but high quality experience. The built in hints were useful, I only had to use them a few times, most things can be figured out with logic. Def going for quality over quantity. Characters feel fleshed out, no pun intended and the voice acting is great.

The art really sells this one. It also features modern two-button controls, interactive spot highlighter, integrated hints, and inoffensive humour. The dialogue is voiced, and the English language voice for the main character is interesting - English Prim comes across as mature with a slight nasality to her voice, a bit like Alex Borstein's Lois Griffin of Family Guy fame, though nowhere near as exaggerated. German Prim sounds more like a teenage girl but is pretty vanilla in comparison. By the way, you can choose to advance dialogue manually with a mouse click - a useful feature if you feel like learning a bit of a foreign language. Voice-over for any given segment only plays once though, and most dialogue cannot be triggered again, so a controlled video play-through would probably serve you better in this respect. Unfortunately the game is held back in the most important aspects. The puzzles are few and uncomplicated if you have been picking up all the items, and the story feels like the first act of a larger narrative. Not every story has to culminate in saving the world by overcoming insurmountable odds, but the plot in Prim just feels like "a day in the life" - and a rather ordinary one at that, despite the setting. A couple of times it felt like Prim was missing a few short voiced remarks on why she or any other character is unwilling or unable to perform certain actions. The key item has been obtained, the mental connection has been made, but the solution would not register because another, unobvious-until-acquired intermediary item is missing. At one point near the end the needed second item is literally a part of another relatively small interactive object, meaning there are two interactive spots very close together, only one of which yields the necessary item. Whether deliberate or not, it is confusing. Admittedly I am quite slow at picking up on the rules of fictional worlds and should have just used the highlighter tool, but a single, short, perhaps a bit cryptic extra line delivered by Prim briefly elaborating on the futility in such instances could have alleviated the frustration. Furthermore, the local minigame would give Alasdair Beckett-King's underwhelmingly moronic Great Game Of The Sea (as featured in Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet, also published by Application Systems Heidelberg) a run for its money, though an option to skip it after failing a few times has been added. Incidentally, the prize for the minigame is a solution to a puzzle, but it cannot be used until Prim has realised something the player may already be well aware of at that point. This one does feature a voiced remark though, even it makes little sense in context. A few achievements in the game can be missed: among them one for finding all cards for the minigame (these are ignored by the highlighter tool), as well as one for completing a certain puzzle with a self-imposed handicap. Use multiple save slots to get to them quicker in case you would like to attempt them yourself. Overall, Prim is passable, but it just isn't something I would recommend. Having said that, if you are looking for an adventure to play with your children, give it a go. It is pretty tame, if a bit uneventful.

The art and atmosphere is beautiful. Great puzzles.

Sad that I cant recommend this game. While enjoyable, it is too short at this price point. There are three areas on the map that look like there were plans to expand into but needed to hurry up and just finish something. If it goes on a deep sale and you love point and clicks it is worth a run through.
