Playtime:
102 minutes
Played on Oculus Rift CV1. Played training and first 2 levels.
I really wanted to like this game and was hoping for a cross between "Eve Gunjack" (good), "The Rig" (good), and "Far Beyond" (ok).
But the core game loop inside the cockpit is basic and repetitive. Push food button (have spares), feed Ziggy, swap battery. If there had been more variety, or more control/circumstance related, that would have helped a lot.
And ship combat was plain and arthritic. I didn't mind the Starfox style "tunnel rail" too bad (given the intentional cockpit distraction), but the flight/aim control was so janky (and I played tons of joystick PC spacesims back in the day). And doesn't seem like there's ever any upgrades/swaps/powerups or "maneuvers", nor any choices or tactics beyond shields on/off and shoot (fast or not).
I read there's some variety in "mission" goals and setups later in, and some degree of story. But game loop is too boring foe me to bother finding out.
