Ahh if more episodes get released, I'll definitely check them out!
I am very happy with what it has offered me so far. I am immersed, I am invested. The story, the characters, I am very pleased with pretty much everything. The artwork is stunning, and it's easy to navigate through, no clunky controls or whatever. ^^

Bought this game solely for Kazuki Yone's illustrations. No regrets! I enjoyed Noah's story most of all... looking forward to more new content! ;)

The story set up somewhere in Asia, where there other type of creature which is human and non-human. At first the prologue was kinda a drag and i didn't noticed the reason behind it. The prologue has lot of info dumping the whole utopia kinda world and there's this whole backstory of Alice and the resident of island. Main point it was set up in third point of view, so we don't have a lot of control about the outcome of it. it basically about the conflict of Red Alice and the native resident of the Hourei Island.
Next, what we've got is Another story, this is where it feels more familiar , first point of view narrative where you make choices as Wanderbird. There's some interesting idea here that you begin to find the truth about your identity (this is why i love amnesiac Mc) . Love the relationship dynamic between MC and Noah. Nonetheless, it was heartwarming and bittersweet at the same time.
Anyway, this game has a lot of potentials with set of eccentric and diverse character setting. Hope everyone got more time to shine next if it got next release. Worth To Read if you like slice of life VN / Mystery and Among Us.

First of all, the art is super pretty (well, it's Kazuki Yone).
As for the stories...
- The main story is taken from Alice's POV. Just a normal visual novel (without romance or anything, just story). It covered the story of Alice and the setting. I hope there will be continuation of the main story as it doesn't seem to be finished yet.
- Another story is where you can self-insert as amnesiac person staying with Noah, the hunter. It's quite refreshing to play this after the whole thing in the prologue and main story. Pretty short.
- Extra story takes place around 10 years after the main story. Basically, the MC (different MC from main story and another story) hangs out with his colleague and going around the island while recounting the events in the main story.
If you don't mind unvoiced visual novel, please check it out.

Yone Kazuki never disappoints.
The story is quite refreshing so far and the price is dirt cheap even without discount, so why not?

I liked it but it feels incomplete, almost like a demo? :( I really enjoyed the characters and the stories - especially the Noah story was really sweet. I bought the game because of Kazuki Yone's art but yea definitely bummed that it's rather incomplete. I did like what I saw so far though and I hope they eventually release some kind of continuation or stories for other characters (like Ming and Cain)

Main story definitely feels like a 'part one of ?' but with the other stories padding it out after it doesn't feel too jarringly cut off. Well written, a ton of ominous vibes, I ended up caring about just about everybody, and I'd eagerly buy any future content for the series.

This game is quite nice for the first entry for this episodic series. 7/10
The main story and prologue was pretty decent with a lot of confusion here and there. For what you are paying, you get a really good price for the stories you get. I really enjoyed the story but the Another Story was a whole other league better. I personally preferred Noah's another story > Main Story. Nonetheless, this game is quite promising and I am looking forward to more from the developers! Maybe more Noah content and maybe a part 2 of the another story please?

The art is pretty.
Game system is smooth and easy to use. I can skip pretty fast.
This game is an introduction for a game series, so not much info has been revealed. The setting is pretty exciting so I'm pretty excited for later content.
I prefer the other story than main story. It's more like visual novel to me

Normally I am pretty forgiving with visual novels that are reasonably priced, but Romanesque: Chronicles of Refugia is that trying.
The short version: The prologue takes about 30 minutes to read. The steam achievement says fewer than 50% of players managed to get that far.
The prologue is deeply off-putting because it throws you right into the action. Taking place in a future where much of the coasts have been flooded due to rising sea levels and non-humans have either evolved or have come out hiding (it isn't clear which after my two hours of play time), the story revolves around a territory dispute on Hourei Island.
On one side stands Alice, a werewolf who runs a casino-resort, and on the other are a group of horned, red-skinned non-humans (I think they are supposed to be oni but are never explicitly named as such) who claim to be the original inhabitants of the island. The prologue is chaotic and confusing as heck as we are given little context or breathing room as we are rapidly introduced to a bunch of characters and have to puzzle out what is going on as both sides get into a skirmish on the beaches.
I made it into the first proper story chapter, and that is where I gave up. It explains what was going on in the prologue a little better by going back in time to when Alice and her associates first arrived on the island. The reason the locals are fighting with Alice and her casino is because she purchased a vast quantity of land to eventually establish a colony for her werewolf clan and has been trying to years to force the locals out of their homes.
This may sound interesting, but it is very, very boring as Alice attempts to negotiate/threaten the various residents of the island to get them on board with her casino/ethnic cleansing project. She wants the oni out, but she needs other non-humans and humans for labor for building and running her casino/colony.
So we have a massively unlikable protagonist in a boring story. I'm honestly not even sure what genre Chronicles of Refugia is shooting for.
About the only good thing I can say about it is the character designs by Hakuoki artist Yone Kazuki are stunning. But beautiful character sprites don't a good visual novel make, and it is a shame they are wasted on a game where fewer than 50% of the people who bought it could make it through the 30 minute prologue.
Really think about that less than 50% stat. I usually try to give VNs a few solid hours before I dip, but this one was just an exercise in endurance.
