It's a great game, harder than the animation makes it look, Strongly recommended.

A very chill & easy 2D platformer game. That tentacle run sense should come with a better background music.

Well... this game was surprisingly very nice.
For a while, Galaxy Tales: Story of Rapunzel was just another game in my Steam backlog. I thought it looked good and snatched it on sale when it got out of early access, but never got around to playing it. Now that I have played it though, I cannot believe how good it is.
Just like another reviewer on the game's store page, I also believe this game to be a mixture of Shantae and Mighty Switch Force, only with speedrun-esque features thrown in it. Galaxy Tales is mostly a puzzle platformer, with heavy emphasis on traversing through platforming hazards rather than fighting with enemies. In fact, it is very much encouraged to avoid unnecessary combat and focus on getting to the next checkpoint; unless for when you get to a bossfight of course.
While the game is fun, I do believe the basic gameplay principles get a bit repetitive if you play the game for long periods of time, especially since the game really overuses some mechanics. While Galaxy Tales keeps adding new hazards and enemies to keep the experience fresh through its 4~5 hour story mode, there's no denying that the main thing you're supposed to do stays the same: solve some puzzles, traverse hazards using the main character's abilities and get to the end. Though I do believe that by playing the game as fast as you can, like speedrunning it by skipping stuff or damage boosting through hazards, you'll have a much more fun experience. I recommend playing it in short bursts as well to avoid getting burnt out.
I also find the post-game content to be quite lackluster. While the idea of having a hard mode with modified, more challenging level layouts is pretty interesting, the game gives you no incentives to try and finish it. The main game has extra collectibles (golden disks) that unlock art explaining the events before the game starts, yet the very same collectibles have no value in hard mode other than raising your score. Not only that, there are no hard mode achievements either so you feel you don't really have a reason for playing this mode.
As for the minigames... there are no minigames. The levels in this mode only consist of chases where one death equals restarting from the beginning. Although the game does offer an achievement for beating all of them, it is not much encouragement.
Presentation-wise, Galaxy Tales looks great. Not only the art is simple yet beautiful (the main character being the highlight), but the animations are also oozing with love and care. You just have to pay attention to Rapunzel's action to see how the devs put a lot of work into them: From her idle animation to her facial expressions changing after doing certain actions. The music is also pleasant to listen to; although they can get a bit repetitive. Unfortunately, the number of music tracks in the game is very limited; to the point all of the cutscenes and special chase sections use the normal level tracks. This is very unfortunate as it damages the game experience to a degree.
The most surprising thing though, is that all of the cutscenes are fully voice acted in Korean. And not of the "so bad it's good" kind; the voice acting we have here is actually well-done. Complimenting the voice acting is the rather well English translation that only has a handful of roughness here and there. A look through the community screenshots section shows a lot of the usual jank of eastern games present in the early access version, so good on the devs for taking feedback seriously and fixing the English translation.
It is clear to me that a lot of love has gone into making this game. Despite some flaws, I ultimately found Galaxy Tales quite fun to play by going fast and trying to bypass hazards as much as I could. Your mileage may vary though, as the game doesn't feel very hard.

The world and concept are interesting and the first few levels are decently fun however, the last 2 bosses have gimmicks that make them more frustrating to fight than actually challenging. I also have to fight my computer to get it to register my xbox one controller every time I start the game, and a few instances where it would stop registering it mid levels. I wouldn't necessarily call it a bad game, But I can see a lot of players feeling frustrated especially near the end

A fun solid platformer that'll last you a few hours, It's not too difficult, but it's a joy to play and watch. I think it would benefit with a level editor or quick restart button though!

As a fan of wayforward games, this feels like a cross between shantae and mighty switch force.
it's first and foremost a puzzle platformer. You solve puzzle rooms using your hair whip and dash abilities. There are a few enemies, but they're really not a threat until much later levels, and even then they aren't really. The stage hazards are much more likely to kill you than enemies.
The game has 7 areas, of which 6 are playable right now. each area has 4 stages and a boss stage. Our protagonist, Repunzel is an android super battery or something, and for some reason has some sort of prehensile hair, like shantae from wayforward. You use your hair to grab enemies and throw thing, along with grabbing little boost icons, that will fling you in a direction. you also have a dash move that can be performed once in the air, and has a cool down on the ground. during the dash, you're invulnerable and damage whatever you touch.
Throughout levels you collect little balls and memory disks. the balls increase your max health once you've accumulated enough of them, and the memory disks will give you a lore related image when you collect all 5 in each stage.
collecting memory disks is very easy, and most of the stages are really easy, with a few interesting stages here and there. the boss battles are where this game shines, aside from the second boss, kinda a snorefest.
This is primarily a korean game by a korean dev, so the english translations will be a little rough here and there, and the voice acting is all in korean. I'm studying korean, so that's kinda why I got the game, one of the few steam games with actual korean voice acting, and a good amount of it too, though it seems like the 6th area doesn't have voice acting yet.
it's a fun puzzle game like mighty switch force, but without the switch gimmick and instead you focus on launching yourself around stages.
