Game sins:
- Absolutely terribly programmed jumping and running, which you need for a platforming segment.
- Despite the name, you're not actually going hiking, you're going camping.
- Cutting through 70 cm in diameter logs with an old axe is preferable to just climbing over it.
- Breaking and entering for absolutely no reason.
- Going camping without checking the weather forecast.
- Apparently, some poor sod died of exposure and instantly decomposed into a skeleton.
- Leaving an open, unattended fire to check out the area for a few hours.
- Leaving all your camping gear and (again) an open fire when leaving.
- No real places of interest in the main area of the game, aside from the old shed. Everything's just the same.
Still, I have played worse. Get it only if it's on sale for less than a dollar, and you want a time waster or easy 100% achievements in less than an hour.

Interesting graphics and nice music. BUT: No save states, no map, no compass, and turns from walking simulator to platformer. Text on screen is difficult to read - needs to be black text with white background, not just plain white text. The controls are atrocious too. Can't recommend.

DO NOT BUY - not even for the 70 cents it currently costs.
Im not sure what these positive reviewers are on about.
There is no story in this game.
There barely is an sound design.
The screenshots look nice until you realize that this is literally all there is. The same two tree models plastered over an empty map with nothing to see.
There are numerous physics-defying and clipping objects.
The selling point - of this being a hike in a huge world - is a complete lie. The are you can walk in is severely limited by invisible walls and you get teleported from one area to another. Yes - the actual hike happens off-screen - all you et is a short dialogue how you have been walking for hours.
The collision detection and general movement is a nightmare.
So is the "quest" design. You are basically dumped in a big area filled with nothing but the same two trees and walled in on all sides by rocks and spend 10 minutes walking around trying to find the next quest item. (for example a pile of firewood).
The gameplay time of 30-90 minutes basically consists of just this: either walking a short path walled in by invisible walls or walking around aimlessly trying to find a quest item in a place where everything looks the same.
Save yourself the trouble. This is a Scam.

I can't recommend this game. If the jumping mechanics during the platforming part were less clunky and there was more sense to what was happening, I may be able to. But this really isn't all that good of a walking sim. There are many better choices out there if you wish to play walking simulators.

Nonchalance. Serenity. Some form of soothing impassivity. These are only three of various feelings Hike evoked in me as I made my way through the forest area. Sky that reflects tranquility combined with soundtracks that smother your ears with delight, the experience of playing Hike resembles the moment you return to your ever so sweet childhood home after 30 years of absence. Distant familiarity manifested in just the right way.
Morning Shift Studios have managed to create amazing atmosphere within such a small game. Excellent use of visual and audio elements. As I type this review Hike has only been out for a few days, so its perfectly understandable finding few things here and there that needs to be polished. Completely forgivable. General concept of game is clear and gives player freedom to go with their own pace. I am really looking forward to see what evolves out of this game since I see a lot of potential in it.
To me, the price is really modest. Achievements are nice touch especially if you're one of those who want another easily doable perfect game in your Steam library.
No doubt, Hike is worth buying.

I didn't enjoy Hike. Relaxing? No way.
Pros: None
Cons: graphics, music, story, content
1. Graphics. For a walking simulator graphics are very important. And what do we see here? Beautiful nature, many impressive views? No. Everything looks so primitive and artificial. This is the simplest environment where everything looks the same. And moreover too many visuals glitches.
2. Music. It`s not relaxing. It doesn't make you feel the atmosphere and explore the forest. It`s overly distracting. Really!
3. Game story. It's not there at all. There are only two options for interaction. Go and jump. This game is about nothing. Even for a walking simulator, this is a very boring game.
4. No content. THIS IS A FOREST guys! You could have added animals, birds. I don`t know what.. even a forester! There's nothing here!
And I don't know why the chair is there. Are you already looking forward to sitting there by the fire? Forget about it.
I totally don't understand all the rave reviews. Seriously guys, you are misleading other buyers. But it's not the money that bothers me. In the end the game is very cheap, but...So much wasted time! Well, that says a lot.

A short walking simulator from a small development team. They have made progress since Work Trip with more refined graphics, smoother lighting, weather, and jumping in a portion of the game. The premise is that you are taking a hike to camp out and get away from it all. Your hike involves finding two objects to overcome two obstacles, some jumping, and a LOT of walking.
You walk to locate a suitable campsite, walk in the dark/rain to find your campsite, and walk to find a way around a fallen tree (in an area of the game where jumping is not available). After an hour of walking, I found it a bit tedious as the scenery is not particularly varied in the primary game area.
I recommend this as a way to spend a relaxing hour and support an indie team.

Typos, inconsistencies and vomit inducing camera motion and camera blur effects, leave this un-finished game with no fun value at all.
Frustration: 5/5 glitched into a rock after 3 minutes
Mechanics: 1/5 none at all
Music: 5/5 - its not Maria Carey
Sound FX: 3/5 environments are inconsistent
Graphics: 1/5 will make you want to vomit
A waste of my time, hope to save you.

Hike , i can't even say nothing at all about this game because that is all the game gives there is absolutely nothing in the game , this walking simulator doesn't have a story or a point what so ever this being their second game i don't see too much of an evolucion compared to the first , there is even less content on this one .
This is an half an hour game with easy achievements , from my point of view there are games that have the same price or cheaper and offer a bit more than this , not really worth the money .
I give a 2/10 .

This game is so trash. I really dont get why it has 70% positive reviews. You just wander around a huge ugly forest, while having to look for an item or a way to go and it looks the same everywhere you go. Seriously, this is not worth a single cent.
