We are Eva Reviews
Play in multiple dimensions at the same time, traveling through them at will in this innovative 2D platformer that defies boundaries! I'm Eva, by the way, and I promise we'll have fun! Or maybe not... Maybe we'll both suffer horribly... How should I know? I'm just a video game character...

I haven't finished this game yet, but I still wanted to give it a shoutout.
The main goal of We are Eva is to reach a teleporter in a small level room to move to the next one. The thing is, navigating through these levels can be hard with all the construction and surfaces blocking your path. It's a good thing there are 2 levels in one, meaning you can switch between either of the 2 anytime and still be in the same spot you were in. On the other hand, the 2 levels aren't completely similar being slightly different from one another, but those dissimilar can be all you'll need to reach the path you want to get to. You just need to memorise what both of these levels look like so you don't end up getting stuck somewhere or dying in the process.
That is not the only difference, each level is colour-coded (yes including the split level), letting you know what type of level is it, for example, if it is blues the level is floating, yellow, it is slippery or, purple (my most hated one) your movement controls are inverted. As you can see, this game is simple in concept but deep in platforming gameplay. You can't just turn you're brain off playing this one. You need to memorise what each level looks like and the pathway and controls to reach your goal.
But don't worry, if you die (and you will do, like a lot), you'll not only respawn from where you started the level, but the level design changes a bit, some not as drastically as others but still enough to make you rethink the strategy to apply to complete the room. You could say dying over and over again is a strategy in itself to get the level changes you wanted that will make it easier to reach the teleport easier, can't say I haven't tried.
The more you progress through the game, the harder the level becomes due to the level layout and colour-coded construction. This could be discouraging if you're finding it harder and harder to complete them. It's a good thing you got Eva to help guide you along the way, or she tries. She's the character you are controlling throughout the game, as well as an in-game commentary providing you with funny fourth-wall-breaking jokes about your progress and some dialogue talking to you personally about your performance, almost like the developer is watching you. You'll be surprised by some of the input she put into the game.

I like how Eva was incorporated into the game. She really kept me going even when I was stuck on a level for 10 minutes. It's a breath of fresh air to feel like I'm not the only one struggling when I play a game like this by myself. Glad to know Eva is struggling with me. Thinking about it, she'll probably be mad at me for not logging into this game for months. Hope to return to this soon.
