Has a "made in someone's bedroom over a few weekends" vibe.
Graphics remind me of games from 20 years ago.
Perhaps there is value in this game when exploring the customisation options and multiplayer, who knows. I judged this game on a few minutes of single-player racing. Before I'd finished the first lap, I knew I'd be refunding.
To be honest, when the "made with Unity" logo appeared, I braced for disappointment.

EDIT: this game is now FULLY RELEASED, 1.0, etc. everything said here is still valid and the game keeps improving every few weeks.
incredible game. i'm not huge into racing, used to play trackmania many years ago. i was checking some new titles a few days ago and found by pure chance this little gem. it is incredibly well done, but most of all fun. it's a huge sandbox and the editor seems to be very powerful (just take a look at the user created maps). playing against AI is also surprisingly fun, i wasn't expecting that. there are 2 campaigns at the moment, time trials and races/challenges. AI even works with rockets! (yes, there are rockets). there are a huge amount of possibilities in this game, even if you play by yourself. the real fun though is playing with friends or online: arcade, sumo, tag, capture the flag. they even have some more serious races/fairplay stuff, with tires, fuel and damage.
i joined a friendly event during a sunday and i couldn't stop laughing due to some extremely hilarious moments. developers and community seem incredibly friendly and willing to help. i had 0 bugs and 0 crashes with the game so far (game crashes; had a bit of car crashes instead... :D)
i hope this game is going to keep growing and become a huge hit even between more casual players, because it really deserves a huge success.
apparently the game is made in unity: don't get scared by that, it is very smooth and i had 0 connectivity issues. the developer(s) made a fantastic job. right now don't expect to hop in and find a full server, join the community and check events, coordinate with others, etc. and by the way, as i said, you can always play by yourself with bots to get better and have a laugh or two
i say join the community and spread the word, this game is the most fun i had in years.

I initally wrote a very critical review of this game, and sure, the game could be better in places and sometimes it can be a frustrating. But there's still fun to be had here, tons of variety and a cool and dedicated community to be found, which is commendable since the game is almost entirely made by one person. With all that in mind I can't not recommend it.
Give it a shot if the game's premise peaks your interest in any way or if you enjoyed games like it in the past.

awesome time! single player shows you the ropes, but it's very fun with friends in all kinds of different game modes. Community is awesome and makes tons of great tracks and cars for easy download via steam workshop.

Excellent racing game with many modes and ways to customize your races. Workshop has tons of user made tracks and cars. One of my favorite local multiplayer games on Steam.

After I had spent over 15 hours over the course of three days messing with the level editor, I did some homework on the dev of this little game. Turns out, according to their own website, this dev used to work on the Trials series at Redlynx, and it makes so much sense as to why the level editor in this arcade racer is so satisfying.
To be more specific, Turbo Sliders Unlimited isn’t just a really fun old-school top down arcade racer; it’s also a sandbox where you can basically draw your own tracks and make your own cars, and then make your own campaign of levels to play with those cars and levels should you choose. If the creating part is a bit overwhelming, that’s where the levels and campaigns on the workshop come in, where a bunch of people have already made a bunch of levels and cars to toy with.
Could the vehicle editor be more in-depth? Sure; as is, there’s a few extra vehicle models in-game that you can use as a base, so there’s no custom model importing. The same goes for the custom levels being a little on the small side, but there’s more I could do with it than I thought would be possible at first, and I’m not really much of a track creator myself, not yet anyways. To close, if the idea of an arcade racer sandbox sounds sick, then definitely give this game a spin.

This game offers some really fun online racing with simple yet modern graphics. I've had plenty of exciting races where my heart is pounding, from fairly realistic F1 races to more arcade-style ones. The community is also very warm and welcoming. It takes a bit of time to find your pace and understand how each car handles, but once you learn the basics, you'll be fighting for the top 3 positions. The other game modes also add a nice extra touch—my favorite being a team-based missile sumo mode.
Overall, the game offers much more than just simple racing with others. There are unlimited tracks, game modes, cars, and much more. I've played 430 hours so far, which is a lot for me! A strong recommendation from me!

What a gem of a game. I played the original TurboSliders in 2007, which was a top down 2D racer. This is an entirely new game, but still holds values to the original TurboSliders at its core.
The customisation is endless, a fully fledged map editor, car painter make the options for tracks "unlimited"! The community has built some INCREDIBLE maps.
A variety of camera options, with the options to create your own custom cameras (height, distance, fov etc), as well as the option to have a floating camera anywhere you like.
A replay mode to re-watch good races you have saved.
Different game modes other than racing, SUMO, CTF, SOCCER (Punaball), MISSILE RACING, the list goes on.
Different cars to choose from with different handling. Car modding, make your own version of a car and change all the parameters.
Hotlapping with leaderboards. Weekly races hosted by the developer of the game. Community hosted event nights.
It is everything I want in a game. The community is great and the developer takes onboard peoples ideas in Discord, as well as being involved with the community.
I really cannot fault this game after over 100 hours. If you're reading this, just give it a try, you'll love it. See you on track ;)
