Flappy Bird clone, and not one of the better ones. Has a store to buy visual changes with minor effects, but it's decently grindy. Not overly time-consuming but not engaging enough to justify any time. I don't think the SFX and certain design decisions help its stated goal to be relaxing (which is usually a cheap imaginary USP... e.g., like the Assassin's Creed Shadows meditation minigame).
The settings option to reverse the kite up/down movement was smart, but it should have been inverted by default. The inverted movement makes more logical sense for the aesthetic of a kite, and (slightly) obfuscates that it's just a Flappy Bird clone with a twinge more uniqueness.
Not worth the time, and therefore not worth the money even if it's barely any money. There are much better Flappy Bird clones for free, many that are more relaxing and many that are more fun.

Alright. Relaxing Kite is done and dusted. At least to my satisfaction. I've completed 50 levels and since there is no noticeable difference between the levels other than maybe the game gets faster as you progress (maybe), I think it's safe to call it there.

So, the first thing I would like to point out is that, despite all the reviews and the product description saying this game is relaxing, that isn't actually what this game is. Yes, you can turn off your brain while playing it. And I think that's why it's being described as relaxing, but relaxing a lack of thinking does not make. I'm not saying it's a stressful game, but this is a game where your entire goal is to avoid obstacles with Flappy Birds-like gameplay, which isn't exactly chill. You do get into a bit of a flow as far as controlling your kite goes, but there will also be plenty of instances where you will "die" and have to start a level over. What I would call this game is Casual. It is definitely that.
Speaking of Flappy Birds, that is basically the gameplay here. It's less frenetic as you only have to dodge the same moving obstacles on repeat, which regardless of the shape they take (clouds, birds, butterflies, fireflies, bats, etc...), they are exactly the same from a gameplay perspective. And so, you will guide your kite up and down, being careful to not hit an obstacle while also being careful not to go too high or too low on the screen. All of which being crash scenarios requiring you to start the level over. Each obstacle that you successfully avoid earns you a point. You will also earn onus points based on the speed of the obstacles best I can tell.

Points are used to purchase new level designs (background designs such as day/night, the specific appearance of obstacles, etc..), kite variants, and so on. Which are functionally both collectibles and to some extent, difficulty boosts which in turn net you more points when you complete a level. And this is where I think achievements would be a boost to this game. I'm not even somebody who cares about cheevos, but this game could use them to give players a reason to want to keep playing and collecting all the skins and such. Because right now, they're really just flavor enhancements whose impact isn't truly felt. Especially since the game incorporates a system that adapts the game's challenge to your skill level as you play. Which further minimizes the impact of upgrades that might have an impact otherwise.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I bought this for 49 cents recently, and it's obviously worth at least that much as a casual experience. But even for a buck, you'll get your money's worth. Worth a look as a nice little time killer in between other games.
