Was seeking a new VR experience so I opted to give this a shot. It's pretty good for what it offers especially how well it runs on my NVIDIA RTX 2070. There aren't that many VR games that put you on the water and allow you to explore a vast ocean environment in this fashion. It's pretty fun once you make adjustments & get your external controller working properly. I'm sure it would be more fun with a steering wheel but I was ok playing with my XBOX ONE S controller.
For whatever reason, playing with WMR motion controllers was difficult. I couldn't grab & maintain control of the steering wheel with my left hand WMR motion controller. I thought I would be able to steer with my left and control the speed with my right but wasn't able to. There were a few other issues like not being able to button map a boat reset option to external controllers via the menu, requiring the WMR motion controller to navigate the menu even when an external controller is connected, no clear active GPS travel indicator to help navigation between destinations. If you can overlook these cumbersome issues you may enjoy yourself. The game has great potential & would benefit from some additional features like avatar passengers, jet ski and more scenery.
I played it on my Alienware Aurora R9 Intel i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz 32 GB Ram system with the HP Reverb G2 (V1) WMR headset. I was pretty surprised I could run it on very high settings without issue.
