The story is way more condensed and at least it has a clear direction but it lacks depth. Writing, music and art are still really good and make it worth reading, but feels like there's so much potential unused in this story.

fhe one negative review on this book makes a good point about having the screen shake for dramatic effect . Interfering with the reading did not bother me but there you are in case you are concerned . This vn uses a similar character as in one of the most graphic stories of genuine cruelty in the original fallstreak and and expands on the concept for a very depressing ending . The original fallstreak seemed light and dark to me this this is all dark it starts off with a death march to the end of the world after all so yes it is depressing . you have been warned . excellent writing and character development must like to read zero nudity or sex..

[Review contains spoilers for both Centicerise novels]
A great prequel. It still leaves some things unexplained, though. I wish we knew who the Church was actually fighting against. Did they just kill anyone who didn't support them?
There are clear parallels between Velour and Denise, and Amenae and Mallory. I mean, same thing where 'tough orphan protagonist is soulless and unstable unless it's regarding their one only friend who has a soft and kind personality'. I wonder whether the writers did this on accident or on purpose.
I do wonder how the Rue twins got into Mr Damalure's possession, considering that in the prequel he only makes a brief cameo inside of the church. Did Velour sip him the tea? They are seen next to each other in that church. So maybe it's meant to imply that they're together? Maybe they married and took the Rues in as foster children? Maybe in Requiem for my Homeland Velour has an offscreen relationship with him?
Also, this is more of a technical thing. But I did not realize that the 'overseer' was actually a separate character and not just a renamed Velour, until Velour saw notes from them. I did not even realize that the scenes with the Overseer were flashbacks. It ended up getting me very confused, as you may imagine. I feel like the studio behind this should use a clearer marker to indicate when the perspective is being switched from one character to another, or when there is a flashback. Because sometimes it can be difficult to tell - especially when both take place in the exact same location.
Edit: Retrospectively, I also realized that when Velour seems the experiment girl, that is due to the experiment girl bending reality with CD while subconscious in the tube (just like with the calamities).

Fallstreak: Requiem for my Homeland's writing is even more beautiful than that of its predecessor (By writing, i mean the choice of words and the flow of dialogues). Its soundtrack and art style remains top-notched, but its story is a bit too short and seems unfinished.
Would still highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys tragic stories, but people who likes to see happy endings might want to avoid it :(

Fun game. Art is good as always, it ties pretty well into the first entry, and, even if at first the world building feels kinda crushing, its pretty good, specially all the calamities. Hope we can see the story grow beyond this two first entries.

In the review I left for the first game, I simply sweared to express my feelings, but here, nothing can put in words such an experience.
The only word I can use is "Masterpiece".
This is now my favourite Visual Novel, if not game. Surpassing even my now second favourite Visual Novel of all times, the first Fallstreak. Even though it is shorter, it expresses the same written beauty of the first game, and even surpasses it.
I have fallen in love with this small, niche series, and I would like to thank Centi, the writer, for bringin to life such a wonderful world and allowing me to experience it.
This game definitely changed my life.

While I prefer the original Fallstreak game as it's free, a much longer storyline, and with characters you get to enjoy and better attach to, Requiem for my Homeland has beautiful language and continues to expand on the world from the original Fallstreak. Unfortunately, it falls into the same trap as the original game where it jumps between time and characters in a way where it's hard to keep track of the timeline and story, making the twist, in this case, less impactful. 4/10

From what I've read, the writing seemed good. However, making every word having to be clicked to appear on the same line is incredibly annoying, especially when I had set text speed to max. Also, having screen shake effects on text you're trying to read is mind bogglingly awful design. wtf was the dev thinking.

Absolutely recommend this game if you can handle dark subject matter the author weaves a story that is so immersive and thought out that all the super dark things that happen hit you in the soul and trigger a reaction. I did not cry this time though the first one made me blubber like a baby. I know some people aren't happy about the length, but this being a prologue and as someone who does not read a lot I lowkey appreciated it. I still loved the story it tackles everything and answers the questions I wanted from the prequel and about the lost children. If you liked the first one I suspect you'll like this one! The first game and this prequel are both emotionally taxing, but worth it.

Warning: Death, violence, war atrocities, blood and gore.
Play as Velour Two-Six, a previous child suicide bomber turned experimental soldier who developed a fantasy-like skill to “cut” things without using a tool and create knives from thin air. Thrown into a holy war she doesn’t believe in against an enemy she has no grudge with, Velour’s only want is to survive and see tomorrow. With the world soon ending due to the 12 calamities, survive, fight, kill, and maybe, finally, learn the reason why all this is happening in the first place.
Fallstreak: Requiem for my Homeland is a gruesome sci-fi fantasy KN that takes 1+ hours to complete. I absolutely loved Velour and the entire story, the ending in particular shocked me so much it made my spine shiver! The art and backgrounds were rather stunning and Fallstreak’s only drawback is it's short playtime. I sincerely wish this was a LN or 8+ hours long. An amazing read!
