A great game with an interesting and unique story! LightSmith has you rebuilding a town thrown into darkness, it has so much heart put into it! The game let's you figure everything out by yourself, perfect for people who want to play their own way With constant updates, responsive devs, and a clear example of improvements over the last few versions - I recommend picking this game up and watching it's development!

Lightsmith draws you in with its intriguing storyline, giving you purpose and direction while also fulfilling those adventuring/gathering/crafting urges that we all know and love. One of my favourite things about this game is how dedicated and proactive the dev team are, always working to improve the game in any way they can and taking a genuine interest in feedback/suggestions. They've even included some nifty little Easter eggs throughout Lightsmith which pay special tribute to people that have been involved in the development and evolution of the game, which I think is a beautiful touch, and I really look forward to finding more of these as I continue my journey to restore light to Gloomsdale.

A good little game which has that great element where you are not sure what comes next, or how to get there, but you want to find out. The fact that there are not many instructions means you need to learn how to do everything through trial and error and the reward feeling when you do is very nice. The black and white imagery is stark at first glance, but after a while you begin to be one with it, even feeling like you live in the dark with them (especially if you play this game in reduced lighting). This effect of not being able to see the whole map adds to the feeling of new elements revealing themselves and also challenges you to remember where the heck you are. Little hint: don't leave the game when you're in the middle of nowhere, you'll never remember where you parked yourself or how to get back!

WHAT HO! Picked this up after watching Viking Blonde play through the first bit. I love where this game is headed. The diminishing light radius is such a smooth way to fit the day cycle into a game. It creates actual tension (Will I get home or get lost?) without the arbitrary "You fell asleep on your front porch again" annoyance. Looking forward to seeing how it polishes up as the rest of the game gets done.
