Let's get this out of the way: Rogueslide ain't exactly a looker. But the same could be said of Slay the Spire.
Like Slay the Spire, Rogueslide skirts the fine line between challenge and BS in terms of what it throws at you, and your primary concern will be limiting HP loss, since recovery is hard to come by. But while there are no shortage of deck-building rogue-lites nowadays, Rogueslide is quite novel in terms of its mechanics. It feels more tactile, somehow, to send every piece on the board careening in a given direction, slamming into and destroying each other.
I had a - barely - successful run on my first try, scraping by with single-digit HP. At one hour logged, I could ignore the extra modes this unlocked and just refund the game, but it was an interesting and fulfilling enough experience that I don't plan to. That said, even if a successful run only takes an hour, the lack of a mid-run save+quit function is unacceptable. I'll give a thumbs-up for now in hopes that the developers add one ASAP, but I may revise that later if they won't.
Recommended - provided you have an uninterrupted full hour for a run attempt.

This game is a great expansion on the 2048 concept. The controls are very simple. You use the arrow keys to move all the tiles in the direction you push. If a tile’s movement makes it collide with another, that tile takes damage. So you have to slide your character around the dungeon without letting too many bad guys slide in behind you to kill you.
It’s really easy to pick up and play, and after a few rounds you get the hang of it, but there are enough variety in the enemies movement speed, damage, weaknesses, etc and to keep it interesting.
I wish it had proper controller support, but it was easy enough to set up a controller profile that worked

I picked this up because the mashup of dungeon crawling and sliding puzzles appealed to me. I did go a little crazy when 2046 came out, even playing it enough to get the 8192 tile.
So, I thought I would be well-equipped to blast through Rogueslide. However, to my delight, I found that even the first level was challenging. It requires thought and strategy whereas 2046 ended up being kind of like a rubik's cube - seemingly challenging at first, but ultimately a matter of learning the patterns for success and grinding through them to meet the objective. It is a lot of fun but I also like the mental challenge!
EDIT: I see that Wong Kar-Wai snuck a little something into my subconscious. I'll let it stand even though it's killing my binary cred.

Cute little game. Would be disappointing if the developer was asking more money, but I think the price is appropriate for what you'll get out of it.
It's a neat mechanic, but doesn't have a whole lot of depth. Those saying the game is hard probably just haven't had it click yet. Once it does, it's actually a pretty easy game. I think I beat a run on my third try and now win more often than I lose. Surviving the normal enemies is pretty trivial once you work out the basic strategy, and the boss isn't hard either, so the most likely way to die is if the exit appears in an awkward spot and you can't get to it before too many of the invincible baddies spawn. Or if you're playing too quick in the Volcano and accidentally send yourself into the lava.
I'd like to see a game like this but with more complex enemy powers and environmental hazards that force you to break away from the basic strategy. The dragons in the volcano are a good example, but the game needs more things like that.

Quick Description:
-RogueSlide is a dungeon crawling puzzler that is simple to learn and quite fun to play. This game kind of feels like a cross between Keen and Meteorfall. It's a turn based puzzler that offers a good amount challenge and variety in each dungeon. It's quick, fluid, and just about anyone can become a master w/ enough time and practice.
What's Good:
-This is such a simple game to learn how to play, but offers many levels of challenge of complexity. The only thing you do is decide which direction your tile is going to move/slide, and that is it. You can pick up some powerups and health, but otherwise, your goal is to kill as many enemy tiles as possible, and get out of the dungeon alive. Some of the late stage dungeons are pretty challenging, forcing you to think several moves ahead.
-You will be able to unlock several different characters, each one w/ a unique playstyle that changes how you experience this game. This is the only form of meta progression, but it's a pretty cool thing to unlock. I always enjoyed unlocking new characters and experiencing the game in a new and unique way.
-I love how fast, fluid, and smooth the movement and transitions are. This is a turn based game, but it happens so fast, which I love. It's always easy to understand what is going on, and what your goal is.
Could Use Some Changes:
-This is a very simple gaming experience. I don't even remember what the soundtrack was, that's how unmemorable it was. The visual style has some charm, but is not going to win any awards. The biggest drawback is probably the lack of game modes. You can replay the main mode on harder difficulties and try it w/ other characters and then there is a daily run mode, and that is pretty much it.
-I would love to see the devs create a sequel that offers a bit more variety in dungeons, enemy type, and maybe even a roguelight mode that really mixes things up. I have no idea if this is something that the devs have interest in, but I would definitely like to try something like that out.
-Once you have completed the game, there isn't a ton of things to do. It's the perfect price for what is offered, but don't expect the amount of content and variety as bigger games in this genre offer.
Consensus:
-Middle of the Road Game (Tier 4 and makes up 25% of my reviews). I had a good time w/ RogueSlide, but it kind of crashed into a wall near the end. I had a few winning runs w/ a couple of the characters, I unlocked all of the characters, and I tried out the Daily Run mode. Don't get me wrong, this is a fun game, but I'm not sure it has a ton of staying power. It's an easy recommendation at $5 for those that enjoy puzzlers or turn based games.

despite the cheesy coverart, the ingame pixels look good and the game plays great.
Simple up-down-left-right movements and yet I'm terrible at it lol

It does what it says on the box.
It is a dungeon crawling tactical game (it has level ups, but I hesitate to even call it RPG mechanics), where the key gimmick is that you use the "tilt the board" style sliding mechanics from games like 2048 to move yourself and the monsters. A little capriciously random, and a lot unforgiving of mistakes.

Simple solid and fun puzzle rogue-like. If you have ever played any of the 2048 games, you understand the core mechanics. Nice enemy variety and obstacles that keep the runs feeling varied. Plus you really cant beat the price. GG!

A very nice, well designed and aesthetic little game. Fun gameplay. I wish it had more content.
However. I have to post a negative review because I thought i was buying a rouge-like, but it isn't one in any way shape or form.
Edit: fine, fine.

It's been a while since I've played a game that legitimately makes me think differently. I love all the deck builders, tower defense, auto battlers, platformers, rogue-likes, etc that come out in the indie scene, but this one just feels fresh and new. It's not like there haven't been sliding puzzles in the past, but combining it with chess-like tactics is just one of those things where you wonder, "Why didn't I think to design a game like this?" I really appreciate games that go with a simple premise but just execute on it so elegantly that it doesn't feel simple at all.
Insert all the usual "easy to learn, difficult to master" cliches here, but it's true. Once you realize what's going on it just clicks and pulls you right in. Here's another cliche: "it keeps you wanting to play just one more time".
Kudos to Retromation for featuring this on his channel. I give it 9/10
