Great game, spent most of my time in Blueberry. Only real complaint right now is not being able to pick up trash just laying around. Not a fan of seeing trash in my pawn shop parking lot or the bags and bottles scattered around

It's a pretty fun game and works okay for an indie game. It does get very repetitive early though, there isn't much content aside from collecting different items. Also there isn't really a leveling systems that unlocks new stuff so prepared to get bored after 5 hours of playtime max.
Also the driving mechanics are SO infuriating. Brakes that don't work so your car keeps rolling and ends up 500 meters away from the shop so you can't sell ur stuff and have to go all the way back and get it. This game made me yell at my screen way more times than it should. Anyway, if this game ever releases more content it might be worth buying. 20 Euros for this is a crazy ripoff. The game feels unfinished.

It is fun little game. The only thing that I don't like is the truck is too small and I spent too much time on loading stuffs.

Storage Hunter Simulator on Steam delivers a surprisingly immersive take on the niche world of storage auctions, combining elements of business management, risk assessment, and logistical planning. Set in a low-stakes, slow-burn environment, the game casts you as a budding entrepreneur aiming to build a pawnshop empire by bidding on abandoned storage units. What begins as a modest hunt for hidden treasures evolves into a deeper strategic experience as you juggle inventory, manage your shop, and invest in upgrades to maximize profits. It’s a grounded yet strangely addictive game loop that rewards patience and planning over flash and spectacle.
The core gameplay centers on storage unit auctions where you must make quick decisions based on limited information. You scan the contents of units, place your bids, and hope what’s hidden behind the visible junk will pay off. Some items can be sold immediately, while others require verification or repair to reach their full value. The game adds a clever physicality to this process—transporting and stacking items in your truck isn’t just busywork; it’s part of the challenge. As you upgrade to bigger vehicles and acquire better tools, the game expands your potential haul, and with it, your earning capacity.
Progression feels slow but rewarding. As you earn money and build reputation, you unlock additional shop features, hire employees, and gain access to automation tools that streamline your operation. One of the more satisfying aspects is discovering the most efficient ways to process and sell your finds, especially once you start investing in systems that let you focus on the auctions themselves rather than every individual task. The addition of collectors who pay bonuses for complete item sets adds a layer of purpose beyond simple flipping, encouraging you to pay attention to what you're storing and why.
Visually, the game leans toward functional minimalism. Graphics are serviceable, environments are clean but a bit sterile, and the sound design is sparse—often limited to ambient noise like wind or birds. These elements don’t necessarily detract from the gameplay, but they don’t do much to elevate it either. The lack of in-game music or more dynamic audio feedback can make longer sessions feel repetitive. However, the game’s charm doesn’t lie in its presentation but in its methodical systems and the subtle satisfaction of making smart business decisions.
The developers have shown consistent engagement through regular updates. New features like avatar customization and collectible-themed objectives add some personality and variety to the experience. Community suggestions are clearly influencing development, with multiplayer, expanded auction sites, and deeper pricing tools reportedly in the works. Though still in Early Access, the roadmap suggests a commitment to evolving the game into something more robust and nuanced over time.
Despite some minor flaws—repetitive auction pacing, clunky item placement, and a somewhat grind-heavy mid-game—the title succeeds in creating a calming, deliberate gameplay loop that rewards attention to detail. It doesn’t rely on flash or fast action; instead, it thrives on the quiet tension of not knowing whether a dusty box will be worthless junk or a rare collectible. For players who enjoy simulation games with a slower tempo and a clear progression path, Storage Hunter Simulator is a quietly compelling experience that’s easy to sink hours into without even noticing.

ive played a good amount of simulator games and i gotta say this is at the top. So many different items to discover plus they add new ones every so often, which keeps the game interesting. Takes awhile to level up but not too long where you quit the game. Only complaint is the physics of items once you put them in your truck. Im tired of my shit flying across the parking lot. kinda funny tho.

I really loved the idea of the game. It's fun and a decent game overall, but I do have some problems with it. The day is a little short in my opinion. It would be nice if it was a little longer or if you could customize the day length yourself. Another problem I had with the game was that npcs seem to have unlimited money. In the beginning it's not that hard to win a bidding and it feels fairly balanced. But now it seems like the npcs all have gotten rich or something because they quickly jump from 79 dollars to 129 or something like that. It gets a little frustrating at times but the game is like I've said before decent.

I like the game but certain things made me give it a negative review I'd like to talk about:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. DAYTIME IS TOO SHORT!!!!!
I gave a negative Review because, even though I think the core mechanic is great is because for me personally the day time is waaaaay too short.
I'd really appreciate a feature where you can custumize the time to my liking since I would prefer a more chill playstyle. Sometimes when I give my objects to the experts I have to rush to get them before the actions start. I feel rushed (yes, I know that's my own problem and maybe not everybody feels the same way).
When I'm collecting things from the auctions I would prefer to have the time to really appreciate the items and to try to fit everything without time constrains or really sort things to my liking.
Sometimes after a long day you just want to chill, you know?
I've heard some people argue that it doesn't really matter that much since you can just take one auction and take your time but you still have to pay weekly rent for the buildings you buy.
So yes, mod support for things like that or at the very least a feature for time slow down would be really appreciated and enough to turn this into a positive review.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2. INSTANT SELL DEACTIVATES AFTER BUYING THE PAWN SHOP
Another thing I really don't like is that you can't autosell anymore when you buy a pawnshop. Its really annoying since the game does not tell you that in advance. Yes, I read forum posts and at some point you get your moneys worth but its frustrating having to place every item (since we still have the time problem) and going from automatic to manual labor. It feels like a downgrade and is not satisfying at all.
A possible solution would be to leave the insta-sell feature in OR since there is more than enough space to maybe remove the buying feature of the pawnshop and INSTEAD make it so that you have to buy a "rival shop" next to it?
Also make it more clear how much of an upsell you can have on your items to make it clear whether to own an own pawnshop is more beneficial.
Though to add to that I really like that you can upgrade your pawnshop :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
3. (POSITIVE) UPGRADES
Continuing on that, I really like how many upgrades there are in the game, its always nice to feel "progress" in the game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know I talked really negatively but for me these little things make a great deal, especially if you want a chill sim where you find silly treasure haha.
I really hope that these isseus will be adressed in the future since the core mechanic is really cozy.
