Space Bandit Reviews
Brutal (one hit kill) twin stick shooter with hilariously fun and clever enemies. Also has roguelite and Sci-Fi stuff.

The enemies are clever and very fun to play against. The soundtrack is a banger. The gameplay is fast and juicy. I love this game!

Space Bandit is a fast and very narrow arcade style shooter that's solid--if brief--fun when you want what it does, and not a lot else to it. The store page videos are good demonstrations that don't make the game look like more or less than it is, and the price is appropriately low for the content, but the execution doesn't feel cheap. Do note that you and everything else die really easily, and often. Short runs, sudden ends, lots of restarts.
Definitely nice to see enemies actually move around and do things other than run at you like dolls. Some good touches in the options, like adjusting aim distance, disabling screen shake, and control remapping.
You should know from the video if you want to play this--just don't ask more than that, and you'll have a good time. Though be warned the tutorial/intro is pretty slow.

Super fast-paced. Easy to get a quick session in if you're short on time or just want to play a bit. Really difficult, but you learn as you go and feels really fair. SFX are great too and add to the high-paced chaotic feel of everything. Controls feel really smooth and snappy.

A very fast paced game with lots of emphasis on speed. The combat is smooth and crisp (at least for me), the face paced nature of each run means you can play a small run or two between tasks. It does have that Hotline Miami feel to it, the video and screenshots are pretty much what you get in game!
Worth the price? Yes, you'd spend more on a cup of coffee most likely.
Is it difficult? Sure is, but it does bring back that nostalgic gaming feeling where you try again and again till you succeed.
The enemies are pretty smart for the kind of game it actually is, so you might be caught off guard if you're expecting old-school type AI.
Sound is really good too, on point and quite fun to listen to.
For those wondering if you can play with a keyboard/mouse, yes you can!
However, I would probably recommend twin stick controller, even though I'm a keyboard-mouse player myself. I imagine it would be easier if you were used to those instead. Since I think the analogue effect of the joysticks might give more critical response than a keyboard.

Fantastic game. As a big fan of rogue-lite genre, I was gladly surprised with Space Bandits. The game is beautiful and the mechanics are very polished. I love the effort working on small details (such as blood spilled all over you). Special mention to music and sound, simply amazing, gets you so pumped! Enemies are very smart so be careful with these fuckers lol.
Overall, this game is FUN TO PLAY. Pure adrenaline. Do not miss on this one!
Also important, the developer often involved in discussions listening to players, constantly working on new updates. So, if you have any suggestion or find some bugs that need to be fixed, please stop by Discord and leave some feedback!

I've also played the demo of the game, and now that the game is out in early access... colour me impressed! There's a lot of little touches that I've really enjoyed so far, dialogues are either quick and fun or super fun, The shooting and dying is ruthless, I'm the sort of a player who appreciates a challenge and this game certainly scratched the itch (sometimes a bit too much haha). I'm looking forward to see where the developer takes the game from now on!
Great great game
Space Bandit leaves you with a pounding heart in no time. The simplicity and aesthetics of it all makes me predict it will become a classic (even amidst a recession pushed by big capital, for anyone who actually understands economics LAWLZ). The game is its own thing although I can't avoid having the best moments of Hotline Miami as traumatic flashbacks every time I push [START].
Great developer
which is very involved and regularly updating the game to whatever discussion is going on in Discord among players. The feeling of Hardcore mode has become greatly immersive thanks to such updates. But he is also loco, I got the game for nickels
This is the kind of game where having good reflexes doesn't hurt although
you can always strategize
(but do it FAST 'cause you're slow and already dead you rotten a55h0le!).
Space Bandit
works beautifully
in both GNU/Linux based machines of mine (Fedora, Debian Unstable) so it should work great on Steamdeck and Windows too. And the best part is you
don't need big system resources
, so you can always load it in your laptop to decompress from whatever tedious activity your day was going about.
In a scale from A to F, I give it a solid 9!
It doesn't have the intricate story of Hotline but this s*t is deeper than you think, son!, aside from a nice procedural level up structure and great pace.
Do NOT miss on it!

Edit: I got ALL of the achievements!!
I couldn't be happier after playing 22 hours in addition to my almost 2 at review time. And it was just as a casual to me! I wish I could play more, but now it's time to go play another 200 games and then come back to this jewel. Never got older! I'm glad frustration didn't kill me.

Better than sex! Is what I would say if I ever left my room and interacted with other human beings instead of playing videogames. HOWEVER! I'll choose Space Bandit over any human interaction 11 times out of 10.

Space Bandit is not your regular shooter game,
it is brutal, punishing, rage inducing, but yet a fair rogue-lite game. And after every failed run, it always brings you back for one more.
Some things that really stood out for me in this game:
1. Enemies are really smart, and if you make a mistake, they will kill you.
2. The sounds are just amazing. I especially like the enemies talking to each other while everything just goes into chaos.
3. Every little detail in this game is super polished, and it all makes the environment just feel real.
I have only one thing that I want more from this game: more unlockables, especially to the early levels as well. And make the player really feel like getting more powerful by unlocking them. You have a winning formula here, just push it a bit further!
