It was for my 5 year old so we left it for 4 months loaded it again and same place same problems.
Warning: Asset Flip!

Cake Shop Simulator is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", indiegames3000, took the Cake Shop Bakery Chef Story Game Unity Store tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, KetchAp, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work.
indiegames3000 has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Cake Shop Bakery Chef Story Game" is just a deprecated Unity asset for making a cake shop mobile app, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended.
Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off.
Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers.
Another important Note: indiegames3000 have been caught using fake reviews on their games in an attempt to mislead gamers by creating a fake positive review score. The reviews are all from known/compromised pay-per-review accounts, all in Russian or broken English, and show as Steam purchasers (to make the fake reviews count). The fake reviews are all posted within roughly 24 hours of each other, and usually shortly after the game launch. There's no evidence of fake reviews on this game, but that may change in future. Gamers have a right to know when developers act in a highly unethical manner.
Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from indiegames3000.

Profile Features Limited!

Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

After reading the other reviews and playing the game myself and doing some research, my conclusion is: this game is a knock-off of the app Cake Shop: Bakery Chef Story.
The app is free to play and you can probably (haven't tested it myself) scale the fruit and buy more ingredients! ^^

Broke it within 20min.
It never explains how to play, there are no words, they just assume you figure out to click on the orders, then only click the products they tell you to and only in that order, or it'll break. It then expects you to figure out that you can click the product options bar and scroll it downward, but from the other comments it appears not many are realizing that.
If you click things out of order or try to order more products when they're low before the game is ready for you to, the game freaks out and won't accept any future clicks on anything. If you use up too many products and need more than the game thinks you should, there's then no way to proceed at all. Won't let me re-up on supplies, won't let me make anything.
Shame, was a cute basic little game while it lasted.

Game appears to be unfinished. It is not possible to move past level 3 or 4: you run out of ingredients and there is apparently no way to get more (a 'store' could not be found and clicking on the plus sign that implies getting more of the missing items doesn't do anything). There really isn't a tutorial, not that it's tremendously needed but it would be nice. The music and sounds are nice enough, and the graphics are cutesy, though it's a bit irksome that it has to load between every screen... All in all, it's not a bad start but it certainly needs work to be worthwhile.
