Enjoyable, gross chaos. Definitely one of the more complicated and fast-paced restaurant managers I've played. The horror aspects are very in-your-face, but the lore behind it is actually really interesting. And gross. You might now want to eat a burger for a while.

I love this game so much its probably on the top 5 video games I've been obsessed with I have this game on my switch but it was kind of hard to play because of my controls but the story of this game is amazing, I loved doing research on the games lore when I played this for the first time. Coryxkenshin got me into this game and i don't regret it

I went in expecting a burger-making game with monsters and jump scares, but the more I played, the more it delivered and gradually surprised me in ways that really hit the spot. I love the concept of a fast food game disguised in a dystopian simulation with the main theme of “thought engineering.” And with different levels of difficulty and bosses, I never got bored. This game has it all and as an avid horror & sci-fi fan I enjoyed it! - TOE - The in-game media graphics like the flyer - Semi-open world - Horror vibes with a sci-fi twist - Cooking and customer service - Uncanny valley

a really good survival horror game with some major flaws that detract from the overall product. as mentioned in a bunch of other reviews ive seen, the overall slow-burn horror and major shroud of the story line of the original alpha were mainly lost in the larger game, which kinda threw me for a loop. i'm here to play for overwhelming restaurant cooking and spooks, not really to have the whole plot setup spoiled by the first scene. not to mention the back and forth of several sequences
(crafting gadgets, cooking to name a few)
and the buggy, horridly balanced boss fights where you do the same thing
(cook 3 sandwiches in a weird way and throw them at the mascot of choice!)
over and over again. alongside this is my biggest gripe with the game: the bugs and lack of quality mechanics. boss's pathings break and clip walls. save points that don't regularly work, forcing you to backtrack or even leading to softlocks
(ex: i got softlocked in the managers office after exiting the bunker because the save file i had didnt recognize that i had unlocked the managers door before entering the bunker)
. the water mechanics that have to be cheesed perfectly in order to actually be functional for the player to use, and so much more. its just a mess, and somewhat reminds me of another mascot horror game, security breach, in the sense that amazing potential is weighed down by a lack of friendliness towards the player. despite this, the game is still extremely enjoyable in other aspects and has amazing sequences/elements in it. the dark, liminal setting of new elysian city truly provokes a strong unsettling feeling in the player. the soundtrack is spectacular, and gives off the perfect sense of the retrofuturist nightmare that the game has to offer. the actual shifts at the burger farm are chaotic and sprawling, with the increasing difficulty of the cooking being very rewarding. the lore of the game itself and the worldbuilding around it is great, and showcases one of the better mascot horror plots that ive seen. happy's really knows how to create a sense of dread in its surroundings, even if it doesn't really know wheres its going to go with those emotions (hence the ending) overall, this game is quite good with some very, very strong flaws that show as you continue to play the game, which is why i really wouldnt recommend playing it unless its exactly up your alley. happy’s does have rewarding elements, but i just cant really sidestep the glaring issues it has in most cases. at best, id just watch a lore breakdown/playthrough of the game to save yourself the headache.
