What allows me to recommend the game:
- good plot;
- nice and consistent graphic style;
- clear and responsive controls, which is extremely important for a platformer;
- an abundance of not very memorable, but interesting secondary characters with various side quests;
- interesting biomorphism mechanics and variability of the character's abilities;
- the absence of critical bugs throughout the entire playthrough.

I played and beat this 100% before the most recent major update (as of posting), so take what I say with that consideration.
I really enjoyed this journey, playing around with unlocked morphs in different map regions you've previously explored is just like a proper MV to find secrets and get some of the powers. Having a mix of the morphs and different weapon types was a bit mixed, I generally preferred using the beefiest morph if available over using the standard weapons, but it makes the fights a bit more flexible imo with how you want to tackle them. You can see some fights have a gimmick to them that a morph can utilize, but usually you can also just browbeat the boss with a good upgraded weapon just as well.
I enjoyed the endings, if you're going into it then prepare a save file before you finish the game your first go if you want to save time to get all 3 of them as it's choice based. I would definitely recommend this if you liked other MVs like Ender Lilies or Vigil.

Play this game.
I watched a youtube video about diagonal freight elevators and saw biomorph get a mention. Gave it a try and what would you know, I found a truly awesome hidden gem. The art, music, story, combat, platforming, and world are all fantastic.

Great metroidvania. Basically a "Hollow Knight ZX Advent" (except you mimic everything *but* bosses). Rooms are well designed, visuals and music are great, gameplay is very fun (especially post 2.0 update, where you can switch form layout on the fly).
And the game is *massive*. I'm, actually, a bit shocked by the map size (with no wasted space too, aside from couple "vista" rooms at the edges).
UPD: Having now completed the game, i can also compliment the plot, as it was a lot more interesting than i assumed, with a bit of nuance.

Biomorph is a great Metroidvania game overall. I enjoy this game more than I do Hollow Knight, to be honest.
I find this more rewarding and less frustrating, and I've really enjoyed exploring the map and unlocking new abilities and everything here. That said, it isn't without its flaws. Note that I play on a combo of PC and Steam Deck, so the game time above is wrong... I have 10.2 hours total right now I believe. Side note though that this is a great steam deck game.
My favorite parts of this game are the exploration, platforming, and general combat (not boss combat.. more later on that). This game is just fun to play. The way you gather the different morph forms and use them however you like is pretty cool. I also like the chips and mementos system that tweaks your output to match the playstyle you like. Exploration is pretty intense in this game... there's a lot of map, and there are a lot of areas you need to come back to later when you have new abilities. Graphics and sound are great, nothing wrong there. Story is decent... not going to win any awards, but it's there and it's not too bad. The dialogue and such are written well enough. You may not remember this game for years to come perhaps, but you will most likely enjoy it while you play it.
One big callout to the game's benefit is that this has one of the most useful Metroidvania maps on the market. The only games I think had maps this detailed and useful were Ori games. The map here isn't pretty... its kind of blocky.... but it has all the information you need or could want. It is hugely useful, and it really adds to the enjoyment of the game when you can properly interact with a good map.
My main critiques of this game are about boss fights and pacing. The boss fights are meant to be hard... and they are, generally hard. But they aren't hard because you require any kind of special skills.... they seem to have just beefed up the boss HP and upped their damage output. It's... a very spongy experience, and more than once it got pretty frustrating just whaling on the boss for what seems like too long. This is mostly an issue in the early game, to be fair. The boss phases get pretty busy, as well, and you cannot take much damage. Also your upgrade paths are locked... so you can't just farm to upgrade your chips and mementos to make boss fights easier... you are stuck because there are only so many of the special items available to you. It's not my favorite system, and the part of this game I enjoyed the least was the boss fights. In fact, 1 or 2 of them made me almost just stop playing the game, because they just didn't feel fair or fun. Later in the game things get a bit easier as you have more upgrades, and so things feel a bit more controllable but overall I just don't feel that boss fights are this games' strength.
Another aspect of this game I'm not super fond of is the pacing. You have to play a lot to unlock new abilities... I think wall jumps were something like 8 hours in? And by that time you've uncovered a ton of map and places to go back to... but something as basic as wall jumping takes what feels like forever to unlock. It just seems to take a lot of time, and then you spend a ton of time backtracking to get the items you couldn't get before. It's very Metroidvania but it seems... like a bit more of a time waster in this game than some others?
That said, I am really enjoying Biomorph and I'm about halfway through I think. I will finish the game, which is more than I can say more many Metroidvanias (including Hollow Knight). I won't be doing any NG+ or anything, one playthrough will be sufficient. But if you are looking for a good solid metroidvania with fun exploration and abilities, this is actually a great one to try out.

Having 100% completed the game I can say this really is quite enjoyable as a metroidvania game. While you can get a little lost sometimes the overall map is still quite interesting especially when you figure out how to game some of the collectables with morphs instead of the required ability.
