it was pretty enjoyable. It's not the best metroidvania I played and it could have been more challenging honestly. And they could have pushed the morphing thing a bit more but it was thoroughly enjoyable!

Just completly finished it at this moment and.. If you like that kind of games, for that price, it's a pretty good one even though the game is to easy, that would be the main thing i'd complain about
the second one is : why put the keybind to talk to npc to upper stick !!!! when you move away from an npc, if you put your stick even a little upper (or you just want to go up...), talk will start... and the range to talk to them is so wide !!! that's nothing bad, but how can this happen ? specially when a controller is recommended to play the game seriously... u_u (okay, i admit, i got triggered by it a few times.. xD)

Biomorph is a good Metroidvania that plays great on the Steam Deck. Its unique creature-morphing is an enjoyable concept, the beautiful art and solid combat make it well worth the money.

Overall ok. No great, but ok. The start is really slow, not fun just kinda going through motions. Later on with more movement options and variety it does get better.
Characters are probably the best part that stand out, good writing for the most part.
More variety visually in the early areas was needed. Samey random rooms with generic gamey like setups don't give a sense of place or function. Then a desert area with weapons testing! But no weapons, just generic samey desert tiles are all you find again and again. Eventually you start finding some rooms with sort of notable visuals, but the levels do often feel just gamey and generic, the biggest issue that I had with the game. Especially early on when gameplay isn't good enough to distract you from it yet.
Also it has a few bugs or issues. You can transfomr, and often have odd shaped characters or run at angles so feet are out behind you, and you may find yourself falling off of ledges when the current visuals feet/bottom still are on it.
Camera often doesn't show you where you're going, drop down into a lower area and you wont see whats bellow you, character is on very bottom of screen so you might land on spikes or a wandering enemy and that's no fun. Camera could in more locations bias towards where the player is currently going. Fine in some rooms, others it's a big issue. Mostly noticed in the earlier level ones in the library.
And then some unreliable I frames. Sometimes you get hit, and are invlun for a few flashes till you can take damage again. Other times, you'll get hit, bounce back and while still over the edge of an enemy/obstacle suddenly register a second, and on at least two occasions I even got 3 hits out of one contact with an enemy or obstacle all in under a second. So a bug going on here that crops up sometimes. Later on once you have better mobility this won't crop up nearly as often or be an issue on later fights, but again in stands out more in early parts of the playthrough.
So ya, start of the game is pretty meh, kinda bad almost, story keeps you in a bit. Later part gameplay is good, exploration is ok, and story and characters are mostly good though so probably worth playing through once you start, but I can't recomend it above many others because of that meh starting time that isn't really fun feeling for a few hours.

This game is absolutely everything you could ever ask for in a metroidvania. The controls are tight, the level design is perfect, the soundtrack is brilliant. You've got collectables, you can mark places on your map to revisit later and the game takes an automatic screenshot of it so you don't forget anything. The attention to details screams passion from the dev team.

Amazing MV, I just wish there was more of it. I have some gripes with it like the last upgrade for the reworked fast travel system not being explained well enough, few of the platforming sections being almost rage inducing when using a thumbstick, most of the bosses were pretty meh and the endings were somewhat unsatisfactory, but I had a blast all the way through. Having the edge of a screen turn gold when you 100% explore it felt great everytime. Speaking of that the exploration is just pure fun, since all the areas felt very unique thanks to the different biomorph gimmicks. I also love that you can make a pin on the map that has a screenshot of your screen attached to it, so you don't forget why you pinned the spot in the first place.
Hoping for a sequel or another MV from these people :)

I enjoyed this game so much I had to complete all achievements. Took 29 hours, which is a respectable amount of time for this genre. The character has a surprising large amount of abilities, especially once you factored it the lifeforms you can morph into. The graphics are charming, I like the cartoonish style and the character animations. Controls are tight too. The soundtrack is just decent but it games the job done. I wish the music and sound effect quality was higher still. Real dialogues could have made the game better as well. See, there is plenty of NPCs to provide side quests but nothing felt super memorable. Maybe some good voice acting could have made this part more interesting.
The difficulty could have a been higher IMHO; there is no way you'll struggle with the boss fights if you spent time collecting all the stuff and upgrade your chips and mementos. But I did die a few times with some of the boss fights so it's not like you can easily run through everything on a first attempt either.
I spent most of my 29 hours searching for items, trying to get a 100% completion. Like most metroidvanias, it's not always clear what ability might be required to get through a certain obstacle. In my case, at one point, I tried every morph and chip to get through thick blue walls, because morphs is usually what is required to pass through obstacles and I had all of them unlocked. But in this specific case, a late (last) game character ability was required (synthetic rush).
Only a few things didn't feel obvious enough, so I think we are looking at a well designed game here, overall. The backtracking was not tedious at all, due to a generous amount of teleports. Late in the game, you also get an ability to teleport from anywhere (instead of having to use a teleporter).
And last but not least... This is a game that runs like a charm on ROG Ally with 10W, at 1080p. A must buy for the long trips too.

It was fine. Its "dark" in a safe, edgy middleschooler sort of way-- which works for the overall tone and cartoon visuals-- but mechanically it does not break much new ground. If it looks like fun to you, I'd say go for it, but it seems like it was intended mainly for genre fans.
The biomorphs offer some Mario Odyssey style play variety and the whole experience is pretty low friction. Difficulty never really spikes and there are lots of Quality-of-Life features: fast travel, room completion indicators, a quest log, and frankly almost too generous quest markers. These things together are probably what ultimately pulled me through to see all the endings.
There are a couple neat area designs and some interesting monster powers, but its mostly dodging through attacks and light, familiar platforming. I will say that I found the fetch quests where you are re-uniting families, friends, or lovers oddly compelling. If it wasn't for the animated sequences this would be the only aspect of the story events that stuck with me.
