Wow. There is a lot to talk about here, i played this game back in its very early release (under the old moniker Shinx), back when it was free, back when the only map was an older version of stranded, and the monster spawners were flat red squares on the floor. well before the sick new character model and opening cutscene, even before 2v2s were added. I used to be very active in the discord for the game, but i had decided to drop it after roughly 30 hours of gametime to await new features. Now i dont quite know what happened or what led to me removing the game from my steam account, but recently ive come across it again in my reccomended. happily i paid the five dollars (The game is easily worth 10) and jumped back in. everything ive seen here is phenomenal. the cutscene at the start, the tutorial, the new map, and even the reworked original map. the new armors are fantastic and the magic abilities are tons of fun. overall it really brings me back to when id played it all that time ago just with plenty of more features. Now the game is simply fantastic, but i cant help but complain on a few points... the skins system is ridiculous, five dollars for just a simple color on my gun is absolutely not worth it. not to mention the amount of skins in the game. paying for each one would end with you paying a staggering amount. the enemies arent particularily challenging and maxing dark armor and magic armor makes you practically unbeatable with the amount of hp you regen killing small monsters, which isnt necessarily a bad thing in fact you could get a record score that way, but it just makes the game unfun and unchallenging, which is in no way the devs fault im just putting this out there. The new map, the military base one is in no way balanced. you can get yourself locked into a corner at any point in your run, not to mention how you can even get stuck on some of the tents strings locking you in place leaving the apple dragons to shred you to pieces. overall what im trying to say is- i personally love this game. the two hour long runs just jumping around with my p200 blasting little red slimes and big ole dragons brings me a sense of peace i havent felt since i originally played this game back then. however, if youre put off by a few of those features mentioned in the second paragraph then i do not believe the game will warrant the five dollar price tag attached to it. But if you can look past some of its most obvious flaws then i believe that this is one of the best, "sit down and play for four hours while watching family guy then go to sleep" games on the market today. thank you for reading.
