Cute game, fun story, terrible controls -- literally unplayable at times.

Level design, art and gameplay (to some extent) are very good in this game. Gameplay is fun to some extent because you are given abilities, then lose them, then get other ones and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, the story, although good intended, doesn't hold up. Both protagonists don't have chemistry and remain the same till the end. I am pretty sure they will go their own ways at the end, no matter what. In conclusion, I am not convinced. This ending was a lot better than the one from "A Way Out" (another one of this studio's game). I can give them props for not ruining it like that. SPOILER: The Elephant murder scene and the main protagonists are what I greatly disliked. I am pretty sure there is a psychopath in the development team.
It Takes Two
Playtime: Around 15 hours – though that’s debatable. You can take your time, pause, explore the surroundings, and have tons of fun with your partner. If you have someone close – a friend, partner, or sibling – and you’re not afraid to argue a little while jumping around and solving puzzles, or better yet, if you want to strengthen your bond, this game is made for you. It’s not just an emotionless game – it’s a strong, shared experience. You play it for the laughs, the chaos, and just to enjoy the ride together. There's a deeper message in the story too, and even though that annoying Spanish book will be bothering you the whole time, by the end you’ll admit: the guy had a point. One of the biggest pros of the game is that you never get bored. The locations, the missions you do together – everything is constantly changing, fresh, imaginative, and never repetitive. The co-op gameplay is the core of the experience, and it’s beautifully done. Add in the lovely visuals and the emotional story, and you’ve got something truly special. Honestly, I can’t think of any real negatives... unless you count the game exposing who has a worse sense of direction or who panics more under pressure – in our case, it’s 50/50, which means we’re a perfect match. To sum it all up – this is a game for two that might just save (or completely wreck, lol) your relationship. Either way, it’s a unique experience that everyone should try if they believe that together, anything is possible.
10/10
– Because I found someone who still believes in me, even after I accidentally knocked them off the platform 20 times :)❤️

this game really brought me closer to my friend. after the first third, we both started to dislike it so much that our sheer hate was conjugating us together. gameplay-wise, very long for no reason. is it a puzzle game? because those are really easy, and the characters end up telling you what to do if you stop to think for two seconds. platformer? i mean, it was fun at times — like when you just let Cody and May slide. it was captivating due to the game’s nice environment design. anyway, since the gameplay changes every chapter but also, at its core, stays the same, it’s hard to call it skill-based, which leads to the question: why is it so long then? it’s like a series that needed to end after the first season. it was fun, but then they start to reuse the same concepts and just make it so artificially long that i was contemplating a rage quit — and i love playing monopoly, so that tells you volumes about how hellishly boring and long this game becomes. plot felt really May-centered. gameplay too. good thing you can switch up characters every time you enter the game. anyway, for the size and how heavily story-focused it seemed, we don’t really get to know much about those characters. we are basically stuck on the same topics. May works too much, and that’s why she doesn’t support Cody, who is frustrated with the lack of attention and the fact that his wife completely disregards his passions and him as a person. but honestly, we could’ve gotten so much more than that. it felt one-sided and two-dimensional, even though it seemed like the writers tried to make it deeper than that. also, as a child of divorced parents, i can say that it would’ve been a much stronger message if they decided to divorce but stayed in good relationship. imagine if the game took this approach, with an emphasis on how important it is to find balance and navigate such a difficult decision. i can also say with 99% guarantee that it would’ve hit home so much more for most children of divorced parents, and the story could’ve been much more bittersweet and beautiful. instead, it’s just the same romantic comedy all over again. the humor wasn’t bad, but it didn’t do much at the end when both of us just wanted it to end. the best part of the game was playing the chess mini-game. with that, i’m out.

Honestly one of the best games I've played with character development and story line to the character arcs. Everything at the start of the game became a pain in the ass but slowly got used to the effort and put the time in. By the end of the game we really didn't want it to end and just enjoyed everything about it, each level was something absolutely new and different and we just couldn't believe the amount of detail and music involved in creating such a different environments from fighting a vacuum box to jumping between time / space to then having to create a beat with a DJ mixer board. Even with the cut scenes, it's almost if you add them all up as one big video, it could come off as a awesome movie. Very impressed, we were sad it had ended
