Okay, it was really funny and entertaining. It's been a long time since I've played something so diverse and entertaining with another person. Even singleplayer games don't provide the player with such a diverse gameplay experience as this little masterpiece. The only thing is, the plot is completely insane, how could they write such maniacal characters? It's genius and terrifying. I played it with my wife, who isn't a super skilled gamer (we played Baldur's Gate 3 together, and in her free time she plays House Flipper), but she really handled most of the platforming challenges - I'm proud of her. So don't be afraid to bring your significant other along, hand them a controller, and start playing It Takes Two.

One of the best adventure co-op games I've ever played in my life. Each level of the game felt so different, with very unique boss fights, some VERY quick and easy to defeat and some VERY hard and long to finish. I do not recommend to play randoms or anyone boring as f uck. Overall I'd rate this a game a solid 9/10

This is not just a game – it’s an emotional rollercoaster for two. Every level is unique, every task requires true teamwork, and the variety of mechanics is so impressive that it often feels like you’re playing ten different games in one. The story is both touching and funny. It tells about a couple going through hard times, which turns into a vibrant adventure where even an ordinary vacuum cleaner or a snowman can bring excitement and laughter. But there are some downsides: some textures are unfinished, and you can stand on them when you should be falling, or fall through when it looks like you’re standing. Game mechanics can sometimes glitch, with characters getting stuck or just standing still. The facial expressions of the parents and the daughter, especially at the beginning and end, don’t feel very realistic – a bit “plastic,” so to speak. It would also be nice if you could play on a single keyboard without needing a second controller. Online play sometimes has disconnects, but it’s great that you don’t need to buy two copies of the game. In conclusion, this is an excellent game for couples, friends, or kids to enjoy together for a few days if you take your time exploring everything. The achievements and mini-games are fantastic, and getting 100% completion is very easy even without guides. Definitely worthy of all the praise it received in 2021.

"You Weren’t Born To Be Perfect. You Were Born To Be You." – Dr. Hakim (my fav scene) watching your gf who is, frankly, not a gamer goat, play this game and eventually conquer the challenges gives a sense of pride like watching your puppy go from a little bumbling pup to a qualified race dog. in the beginning you think theres no way youre going to be able to finish this game, but you give her 3 hours in the tutorial and eventually she'll be able to jump-jump-dash 50% of the time, and its smooth(ish) sailing from there. there were many times she asked me to do it for her and many times i told her she could do it. and eventually, she did. the joyous laughter she had when she won the "press E" mini game was the happiest i ever heard her in my life. i never let her win another mini game after that. but theres also the joyous triumph of defeating the squirrel in hand-to-hand combat, or escaping the sleeping moles. many moments to be proud of that puppy. thank you, dr. hakim. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- my fav scene is in the snow globe where we can both go skiing and diving, it reminded me of my hometown and i really wanna spend every winter with my bf (my gf fav scene) even tho he did most of the job and we made fun of it actually just take one, this game still made me realize how patient he can be while dealing with my problems. sorry for being a retarted gamer and partner sometimes, I appreciate everything we've been through, inside and outside of the game. i've never really been a big fan of any video games, but spending time playing this one with him, overcoming the problems, enjoying the beautiful scenes must be the best gaming adventure. we're going to play one way out~good luck for us (or for him)
It Takes Two | Perfect Game Review
(100% Completion at 11.7 Hours)

It Takes Two made me realise that sometimes, dragging your romantic partner through chaos is the ultimate relationship test… but I wouldn’t know. I played this game with my gamer best friend instead of my wife, so this was an absolute breeze. Gameplay: By constantly reinventing itself with creative mechanics and surprising level design that actually makes you and your partner communicate (or argue), the gameplay in It Takes Two never got dull during our first playthrough. ★★★★★ Graphics: With many vibrant and detailed environments to cooperate through, It Takes Two often feels like jumping into a Pixar film on a sugar high. From flying through the air on fidget spinners in a kid’s bedroom to ice skating across a snow globe, the entire game was a visual delight. ★★★★★ Sound: Surprisingly dynamic and shifting appropriately with the tone of each level with lively voice acting from the main characters. However, the overall soundtrack was not as memorable to me compared to other aspects of the game. ★★★★☆ Story: Fluctuates well between funny, heartfelt, and unhinged moments. The core narrative—parents being forced to reconcile their nearly broken marriage while solving puzzles as miniaturised dolls—is earnest, but unrealistic at times. While the story scenes were well presented, I honestly found the script to be a bit cringey. ★★★☆☆ Replayability: It Takes Two was a solid one-and-done for me—fun while it lasted, but not something I’d replay unless swapping roles. Also, it would be best if you waited for a sale, since perfecting it in under 15 hours didn’t quite justify paying full price. ★★☆☆☆ Final Thoughts: It Takes Two understands that being cooperative isn’t just about playing together—it’s about problem-solving, yelling, laughing, and somehow having a great time through all the chaos. Even if some parts are a bit too quirky for their own good, the creativity and polish make it one of the best couch co-op experiences out there.
Overall Rating: 8/10, more affordable (and entertaining) than couples counselling.
