Sadly, I can't really recommend this game over the vast majority of its contemporaries. There are simply way too many better classic style survival horror games. There is something quite interesting and creative about the idea behind this game though, and I think it's important to point out how unique the set up here is. This is the only survival horror game I have ever seen that has a hub world with levels locked behind collectables found in the game. Honestly, it's genuinely really fascinating to see a game with fixed camera angles and tank controls building off of the game structure of Mario 64 and if it were executed better I think there could very well be something here. Alas, despite intriguing design choices, the package as a whole just feels awful. The co-op in theory would be the biggest draw but it in fact makes it even harder to properly get into because you now have to convince 2 players to struggle through the following gripes, and many more: - poorly conceived menus (which both players control simultaneously - inventory included which just feels like a joke and frequently caused the second player controller to mess up after closing the menu) - extremely sloppy level designs littered with obnoxious traps that can kill you in a moments notice resulting in restarting from the hub area without regaining any used items and usually having broken weapons. - Completely vacuous story (not that that's why I checked this game out, I had low expectations but the game sort of just drops you into this weird over-world with grim reaper looking guys hanging around and you go find a level to die in). Maybe the developer was going for a souls-like approach to the story here, as you can chat with the reaper guys and there's the odd mention of the protagonist not knowing what's going on here and there, but there's simply no intrigue and absolutely nothing established to entice the player into moving forward, especially when the game play is as under-cooked as it is. I could pick this thing apart a lot more, but I think you get the idea. I had a bit of fun playing it with a friend, but not for the right reasons and it was short lived. I absolutely love classic style survival horror, so I am willing to give any game like this a fair chance. There is no shortage of phenomenal fixed camera survival horror games coming out right now, so unless you are obsessive like me and feel like you need to try all of them no matter what the quality, then I suggest you skip this one and instead visit my curator page and find something that's actually fun to play within the genre: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45050657/
