The game's just simply bad. Remind of old Doom and Wolfenstein, except is bad. Turning mouse is like having a seizure on the screen. A little nostalgic, but nothing more than that

I didn't dislike the game, and the main theme repeating throughout the full of every level was actually something I kind-of enjoyed (I know, shame on me). The song's addictive, and I actually *did* want to listen to it over and over again while shooting enemies stand-off style... or trying to run out of their line of sight. Since you move so far at each single press of the key, and the opponents are always facing you no matter where you are relative to them, dodging in any controlled way is notoriously hard to do. Still, I had fun blasting laser beams back and forth against the numerous foes, and item pickups weren't so scarce that I had much to worry about at all, totally stress-free on being stocked up for future gunfights.
However... there wasn't much to the game. Three levels, three enemy types, two weapons, two pick-ups (health and ammo). It's extremely simple. Trying to dodge a single attack leaves you flying across the room, trying to adjust to aim directly at what you're shooting at can easily leave you swiveling around quite wildly, the game is, quite simply, a primitive framework for game design and the controls are a bit too sensitive... something that can't be altered. There's no measure of plot, no evidence that the masculine hands for the player character are supposed to belong to a woman, nor the slightest recognition that the game was beaten when you finish the last level (it just gives you a blinding white light and returns you to the menu screen)... but if you want a sci-fi themed simplistic shooter with intense background music, this game is only 99 cents. If you have expectations, you probably won't like it, but if you just need to shoot the same enemies over and over on repeat, you can totally cycle through the three levels in this game over and over again until you have it completely memorized.
For quality assurance purposes I should probably note be recommending this game. I honestly don't see many people as being interested in it, including everyone on my friends list. They'd probably just get pissed at it for sucking so much and thank the Gods of Binary that they only spent a dollar on this unplayable piece of trash. I, however, thought it was fun, and know my easy-to-amuse self doesn't regret having bought it. I think it's classy trash, and most people would throw it away for being trash. I keep it for being a fun arcade experience with an addictive soundtrack of one repeating song.

No, just no. The elaborate descriptions for the game are pure clickbait for what is a less then stellar Wolfenstein (The old one) like game play that's even less interesting then it's peers.
Get doom (1993), or a recent retro boomer shooter like Supplice, or Delver for a nice fps roguelike, or even CTHON which is more interesting overall.
Ashes: 2063 is a fantastic total conversion of Doom 2 (The old one) that does not even require the Doom2.wad file and is infinitely better then this.
If I ever made an fps game as simple as this, it better be a school project for some video game school I'm going to, because it is not worth even 0.49 cents when you have so many better free games online on Itch.io or such to enjoy and fill yourself with happiness.

This game is a classic first-person shooter with retro graphics that allows you to immerse yourself and remember games of the past, it perfectly evokes a feeling of nostalgia and is played in one breath.

They literally recycled the same game 3 times... Seriously, look at the other games from NL Studio. There is a lapse of a few weeks between each release.
About the game, the player moves too fast and also rotates too fast (if you use the mouse), making it very difficult to shoot enemies while moving. The bullets are also very fast, the only way to dodge them is by constantly moving, if there is enough space to move around in, that is, because most of the time you find enemies in corridors or rooms full of obstacles.
Edit: I forgot to say that there's no automap. And the levels are pretty monotonous, they used like 3 or 4 different textures on each map. So have fun trying to orientate yourself.
“I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation”

There's that funny lil' thing called “reputation”. You spam Steam store with crappy Raycasting Game Maker shovelware that includes only three levels and can be beaten in just a couple of minutes? You should not expect any respect from players. On the other hand, easy money is an easy money. So, kids who always aim for a couple of quick ice cream bucks and people from poor countries? They sure make things harder for all of us. Ladies and gentlemen, meet NL Studio. AKA yet another smartass who decided that he can make money from selling what you can easily get for free on IndieDB.
Sure, this “game” will cost you only a buck. But that's just how it works. See, making something like this? It takes less than a day. I mean, seriously. Raycasting Game Maker is a very easy free tool and, like I already said, the NL dude didn't bother at all and only gave us three tiny little levels. Start RGM, throw in a couple of generic low res sprites and that's it – the new “game” is done. In other words, you waste a day on making yet another RGM shovelware – you can start making money. And the more of such games you make? The bigger your income will be. Especially with time. Because, let's just admit it, quite a lot of people buy random stuff from Steam just because it's cheap. That's why the dude released, like, a game or two every freakin' month here. And pretty much all of them were the same exact thing.
Which means no story (no even our usual text at the beginning), only three tiny levels (you finish all three – you get back to the main menu), two enemy types (ah, the variety...), a couple of weapons and pretty much everything that was bad about Raycasting Game Maker. Which means laughably low resolution, no proper settings, our usual mouse bug, etc, etc, etc. So... yeah. You can't go lower than this. No matter how hard you try, this right here? It's the very bottom. A crappy shovelware made by a person who was so desperate that he didn't care about his reputation. Like... at all. Dixi.

This isn't bad or good. It's cheap. The camera and movement is kind of jank. A lot of people have issues getting through the first level because the objective isn't really stated, but you have to get the blue orb.
It's cheaper than classic DOS games of the same caliber, but they are better imo. You get what you pay for.
I think all the reviews that compare it to Doom are bots, as it is much closer to Wolfenstein.

So when I was looking at the gameplay I thought it looked a little basic but that's not a problem. I figured I'd buy it since hey, what the hell, it's cheap. I didn't expect the game to be so janky with its movements that it made me feel physically ill. This is like an old 90s shooter, but with none of the charm, polish or legwork that made those forays into gaming any good. Do not buy this. If you do, let it serve as an example of how not to make a game. While mechanically it's sound, if boring, the camera movements destroy everything that could be enjoyable within this loop.
Do not suggest.

Very nostalgic game. Evokes memories of Doom and Wolfenstein. The shooter itself is very interesting and dynamic. A lot of interesting levels. Beautiful models and a variety of weapons.

I played this game for about ten minutes and could not play it anymore. Let's go over why.
The game looks like an homage to Wolfenstein 3d. However, it fails in execution for a few major reasons. The first is that it is too freaking fast. Your strafe and mouselook are by default so sped up that it is nearly impossible to move and look at where you want to without getting disoriented. This combined with the sort of fish-eyeing of corners that happens when you are up-close, and the game is actually kind of making me sick when I play it.
The second issue is that there is no map. A lot of Wolf3d games have very same-y textures and level structure, and this game is no different. Without a map, combined with the disorientation mentioned above, it's nearly impossible to tell where you are or what room you've been to.
The third issue is the lack of indications about enemies. There are two things a game like Doom did that helped: The first is that enemies typically made "alert" sounds when they noticed you. The second is that when you took damage, the Doomguy face would turn in the direction of damage. Both helped you be aware of what is going on around you. In this game, enemies do not make any noise at all, and there is no damage indicator. You'll spin around trying to find the guy who is killing you, and be unable to actually see or hit him due to how fast you spin.
The final issue is that the game has no customization. No difficulty menu. No rebinding keys menu. No ability to set resolution or if the game is windowed. Four save slots you can't rename. Not acceptable.
There is a good idea here, but the game does not succeed at executing on it. If it had some major rework done on it, I'd consider hopping back in.
