Well for a discounted price I'd say I'm ok with what I paid for. I have read some reviews before buying this game, mentioning the puzzles or controls are abit weird. But it is true that it's weird lmao Some puzzles are understandable in a glance but some of it just kinda doesn't make sense (imo). Average puzzle game, figure it out yourself. 3/5

this game looked super cute and even though it has mixed reviews, i thought i'd give it the benefit of the doubt and unfortunately, i too didn't enjoy this game :/ the art style is super cute tho and the music is relaxing, but the puzzles weren't really great. some puzzles were either super easy, tedious and/or were literally impossible to figure out without a guide or a gameplay vid. despite this, if you still want to give it a go yourself, i'd recommend buying it on sale like i did

It feels a bit weird reviewing TMYS. At a glance, it would be fair to say the game is a collection of mini-games/puzzles wrapped around cozy vibes and a sweet story. All of this is true, but I would take the concept of mini-games/puzzles very loosely here. A lot of them don’t have any real logic, it’s just trying to figure out what’s required. When I say it this way, you might think this is the point of many such games, what am I rambling about? But it’s really not the same. This game reminds me of being a kid, when they play with toys, they make up childish rules that only make sense to them. They have a blast while an adult looks confused at all the fun they’re having. The game gives me those fuzzy warm feelings I haven’t felt in ages. It was frustrating when I tried to approach the game as a pure game. But it became better when I threw away that concept and just enjoyed what was thrown at me. It helps that the art is beautiful, the story without text is cute, the gameplay is varied, it’s an easy game to get into and the length of about 2 hours (including achievements) is just right. The balance is widely off though. Some mini-games/puzzles are super easy while a few are difficult to figure out. You can use hints, you’re even encouraged to use hints through an achievement. I managed to solve everything on my own and used the in-game hint 3-4 times. I never felt the need to search for a video walkthrough online. Another flaw that weights more heavily is the game’s support for resolutions. Fullscreen goes up to 1080p. I can get 1440p with window mode but I can’t see the bottom part of the screen, there was text I was unable to read. I managed to understand the developer’s intentions and I managed to find fun in something that doesn’t adhere to established concepts. But there will be people who will get it and still don’t like TMYS. There is a demo you can try which you should if you ever consider this game. As for the normal price of about €8, I don’t know if I would have been happy paying that much. But I’m happy with the €1 it costed me on steam, I’ve even wishlisted the team’s next game ‘Cook for Love’ which costs twice as much. People are rightfully panning that game for being too expensive on steam.

I really wanted to give this game a fair chance, despite the mixed reviews. I'm disappointed to say that I agree with the negative reviews. There are no guidelines, some of the puzzles are a single click while others are frustratingly hard as there are no instructions, and the hints (of which you get 3) just give you the solution. I made it through 1.5 maps and had no idea what was going on. It's super reminiscent of both Unpacking and A Little to the Left but the execution fails miserably.
