World of Tanks is an amazing game. The realism and graphics are incredible. However, players need to realize the game is a "pay to win" type game since its free to play. You can play it for free, but after a certain level, you will get frustrated with dying all the time unless you pay real cash money to upgrade your tanks or are willing to take twice as long to achieve anything. Still a fun game to play.

You'll spend dozens of in-game hours playing (AI) bots, bots, and more bots. You won't see most of the maps while you shoot bots.
You'll push to tiers where you start to see real people in Randoms.
You'll be hopelessly outmatched by premium vehicles (or just upgraded tanks 2 tiers above you) in your new tech tree tank.
You'll try to persevere through dying in matches before you can get a shot off, you'll be completely unfamiliar with the positions in the maps.
Finally, you'll encounter an incredibly toxic community that will go out of their way to attack you when you're just starting to learn. You'll enjoy vulgar IMs even after the match is over, from people who apparently have significant emotional investment in this arena tank shooter.
If you're not already deep into this game its just not worth it. Skip it.
