Playing the game and enjoying it. Currently on second chapter near end. Will be updating the review if I miss something here. For me -The selling point of the game was Unique shadow based puzzle platforming mechanic Things I liked in the game: -Art style of game. The characters and environment suits the game perfectly IMO. -I liked the music being played -The hand crafted style UI -Levels are designed well and fun -Creating shadows with environmental objects and finding the right way of creating a path is fun -Story felt touching in moments Things that I think could be better: -The story progression felt disconnected and felt like random events are being pushed, though it was clear that the game wants to tell a story. -UI navigation could be better. Like sometimes it was hard to find currently selected menu buttons in same windows and response is little slow in few menus. -The game loop felt a bit monotonous after a bit of continuous play through. NOTE: I may update my review after completing the game, if I feel the need to change anything. Overall, I think it is a pretty enjoyable game and worth it to give a try, especially for the puzzle mechanics. So, yeah, I will recommend this game any day. Great job on releasing the game and giving an unique experience👍

In spite of being rather bad at puzzle solving games I did make it a fair bit into the game. And for anyone interested in just experiencing the melancholy story about growing up and growing apart there is an option to skip each puzzle. In a world so flooded with media its hard to carve out any sort of unique niche but I think In My Shadow successfully does just that. The mechanics throw a lot of curveballs and each victory has a sort of Dark Soulsian rush of victory to it. Do not miss this one. https://youtu.be/_Ou5l5rRr5E < The Demo More gameplay videos on the way: https://www.youtube.com/c/ZachurrateGaming

In My Shadow is a very nice and clever puzzle game. The shadow mechanic is very fun to play with and it opens up so many possibilities of solving a puzzle which often leads to unique and entertaining experiences! One thing that people don't talk about this is how fun this is to play with friends. Everybody has a unique solution and finding the (not only) correct solution is very amusing! The story is a nice touch too but the quirky puzzles steal the show! Definitely recommend buying this especially with such a reasonable price. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-4 hours playing this game!

Pros: -Shadow mechanic is really fun to play around with. -Offers a controller and keyboard and mouse option for playing Cons: -Keyboard and mouse didn't have a swap object button, don't know if it was just me but I was forced into using a controller Other: -Shorter game, I don't mind it being about 4 hrs long. If more rooms were added, I could see myself coming back to play some more.

Nice game! is a short game, around 2 hours (don't play and refound when finish!). The backstory is nice and the puzzles are entertaining. I really like the visuals and I didn't find any bug. So if you like a chill game to spend some hours on, then give it a try.

Kudos to the developer for the original puzzle mechanic. One thing that sets this game apart is that it gives the player a lot of freedom in how to approach the solution. You can try to get a pixel perfect platforming execution and you can also perfectly plan a solution. The only gripe I have is the game felt a bit short.

Would be apt to say this plat-former is an underdog and deserves much praise. PROs: 1. Amazingly Clever Game-play - the interaction, changing focal length and the way you wish to solve each level - wow. 2. Brilliantly designed levels - intuitive and they build up. CONs: 1. The Back Ground Music - horrible and draining - easily can be solved - mute and put your play list in the background. It's a sheer dragging track. 2. Cut scenes - protagonist art design- you remember "Chucky" from "Child's Play" . yup. as much as the game is great the art looses on the melancholy and is darn right creepy in cut scenes. Final Verdict: It's worth the play, and sheer fun. you can overlook cut-scenes, and mute the horrid music and play this gem.

Pretty good game with good puzzles. The lack of Steam achievements is a let down, I hope the developers add steam achievements soon.

One of those games where i wished that Steam offered neutral review scores. This by no means is a bad game, but i personally didn't enjoy a whole lot either. In my Shadow is a 2D platformer in which you must first manipulate 3D objects on a square playing field to act as your platforms in the platforming sections. The idea is very cool in theory, but feels lacking due to a few things in practice. The story is... there. It's an okay enough vehicle to drive the gameplay, but it's very basic overall. Story is definitely not what you should come to this game for, instead see if puzzling and platforming is what you enjoy. I found the game most enjoyable in the beginning, with puzzles and platforming being rather simple . You need to experiment with placement and rotation of objects, that allows you to collect all the pages needed to finish the level, while also having to pay attention as to not block yourself off from the exit you need to reach. However, pretty soon the game will add more items that need to be correctly placed per level, which often times makes it quite hard to feel any sort of direction from a level design perspective. As a consequence i often defaulted to just going through a bunch of trial and error until i just happened to stumble upon a solution that works. The issue with that is, that you never really get that "aha-moment", that make puzzle games so satisfying after being stumped for a while. There's simply not enough context clues or any hints in how the levels are designed, that may give players a point to start on solving the puzzle before them. Objects are freely placable around the square playing field, meaning that even if you are close to the right solution, you're often stuck having to make slight adjustments here and there, so you don't get stuck on lips, or to make sure that one object isn't a pixel too high to jump up. The game would have benifited from some sort of snap-grid-system, so this constant editing for slight mistakes wouldn't be so necessary. Also an option to control jump height would have been very welcome, since many jumps have to be unnecessarily precice in terms of height or trajectory to not bump into any traps. These are a lot of small things that even through this short experience add up to a more or less frustrating experience. I'll repeat, that this is *not* a bad game, but it certainly wasn't what i had hoped for, which was a larger focus on puzzling than precice platforming.

Don't buy the game because you want to support and Indian game developer. Buy the game because it's good. Definitely fun. The hook of the game is with the shadows, and they are done very well. There are some inconsistencies with the lighting on the lips and cheeks in cutscenes. There are also some inconsistencies with the shadows in some levels, but it's not gamebreaking. I am sure the developers will fix that. Beautiful calming music. I like the paper-like style of the Settings menu, and the nice little detail of the settings being written on the small notepad during the game's intro. [strike]It would actually be better UX to pull up the same notepad, when we open the Settings menu[/strike]. Turns out that we can select the notepad to open the settings as well. It is not obvious at first glance. Only after moving using the controller down key, I realized that we can select the CellPhone, Laptop, Notepad. Having the word "Options" and also the notepad makes one of the two redundant. It might just be better to have either all text based or object based menu items. Would prefer some audio narration, when the story progresses along. The few lines of text at the bottom of the screen, if those were narrated, might seem more interactive. Definitely recommend you play the game.
