BLASK 2, along with its predecessor, is a rare beast: gridless laser puzzle. Normally, in this subgenre you get a square or hexagonal grid to align your lasers, mirrors and the like to. Here, on the other hand, you have a full Euclidean space to play in, with arbitrary positioning of pieces. It comes with certain design limitations (you don't get to mix colors, for example), but originality and variety of the experience make up for that. The game is short, with 80 levels beatable in under 2 hours. The experience is casual: while solving some levels require non-trivial logic and some allow for several distinct solutions, to me it felt like an introduction to something greater, which never came. Not that I complain, though: having some relaxing stuff is nice once in a while. Overall, a great concept and a decent game. A shame that it is so unpopular (literally empty community page? c'mon!..). P.S. If anyone cares: how about we popularize a 'Lasers' tag for stuff like this? I mean, it is a distinct subgenre that is unjustly neglected, isn't it?

Review written after 3 hours of playtime. As a puzzle game enjoyer, I quite liked this game. Your goal in every level is to hit all white rings with laser beams. At first levels are simple, but introduction of multiple different elements over the course of the game makes later levels quite challenging. There are only very basic tutorials, you learn mechanics of new elements through experimentation. What I liked is that there is no one solution to each level. There are straightforward ones, but on the other hand there are levels with multiple solutions, which you get by experimenting with pieces' placement. However, not everything is perfect. Through the game sometimes i had troubles with moving pieces around. When one piece is completely (or it's almost )within the bigger one it's very difficult to grab. It caused a bit of a trouble on some levels. Pros : - Challenging levels - Minimalistic design - Low requirements Cons : - Minor movement issues To sum this review up, it's a short game, but in my opinion it's worth its price. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games
