Gioco molto interessante, sembra un pó vuoto all'inizio, ma in realtà nasconde un sacco di segreti ed easter egg e le altre modalitá sono divertenti e impegnative. se vi piace una sfida in pixel graphic avete trovato il gioco giusto.

Really Cool Game Concept! liked the atmosphere and it got a lot of cool references in the level. to be honest the only Thing im complayining about is that it's not that scary! to be honest just for the whole concept it's a lovely game but imo it should have more chasing and Scary sound to give the player a sense of urgency. maybe some thing that happen a random like eyes following you sound that keep you on your toes and stuff like that ! Other then that really cool game good job guys!

Alright, so, I was browsing through my games today and happened across this game again. While I was having a gander at it, I noticed the devs responded to my original review. So if the devs see this, hi, I saw you there, a few months late. So anyways, now that the game's out, what can I say about it that I couldn't before?
Well, the base game mode is the same thing as before. So just look at the original review below if you'd like to read about that.
The Arcade game mode is a game mode where instead of collecting papers, you collect coins instead. It's also times. It's also the same thing as the original mode. Except there's somewhat of a goal this time, so it's a marginally better game mode. Unfortunately, I don't care for this game enough to really put enough time in to win at it and get my score on the leaderboard.
Lastly there's Trip mode, which I did play back in the day. I decided to give it another try, and well, it's the same thing. Except the randomness is cranked up an extra few notches and you can take pills to completely ruin your experience, so play at your own risk if you decide to play it.
I'd like to clarify my statement about there being "virtually no replay value". The way I see replay value isn't simply the presence of things to see that you didn't see before, but both the quantity and quality of the things that you haven't seen. The reason why you'd play a game like Undertale more than once, for example, is that there's multiple different endings depending on how you progress through the game, and they're all very different. In the case of Locis, you can play this game for hours and sure, you'll access rooms you didn't access before, but the actual quality of the experience isn't improved for seeing it. I'm not mad, I'm just somewhat disappointed, because I genuinely like the concept, I just feel that with it being as simplistic as it is, that it really lacks that oomph that should keep you coming back. The different game modes are nice, but you see the same assortment of things in each different mode, which blends them together.
So yeah, sorry that it took like a half a year to get around to replaying it, but there you go, my take on the game as a whole.
--Original Review Below--
As cool as an idea as this is, it just doesn't really work as well in practice as it does on paper.
Sometimes runs are short, sometimes they're long, sometimes you get stuck in the same area for a half-hour waiting for an exit to appear. There just isn't enough variety in rooms, level layout, traps, or beasties to make repeated playthroughs all that exciting. There's a bunch of side areas that you MIGHT see, if you get lucky, and while I did see a few of them they weren't interesting enough to shake things up. Especially not with how rare they are. It's worth a run or two... not the several hundred they seem to expect you to play. On the plus side, the first couple runs can be kinda neat, as you figure out how the game plays, but after you've figured out how to deal with the different obstacles they really do just become hindrances.
Cool idea, not the best execution, virtually no replay value.

This game was very interesting to play. This game it's not like the majority of indie horror games that you can find here in the Steam store, Indie horror games are not very appreciated, due to the way they are made, without any care and attention to detail, realized with Graphic engines that use pre-packaged assets.
Why you should try it:
LOCIS is a very well thought-out game, despite the weight of the game files, it's a very rich in content, despite being still early acces. The graphics is retro style and reminiscent of the old ps1 titles like Silent Hill, even the soundtrack it's very well done and effective, very apt with the game, it gives that sort of restlessness and sense of mistery to the player. The game is divided into different areas, generated randomly, the game develops horizontally, you have to go through long and infinite corridors in whick there are many doors on the sides, locked and that can be opened, they contain interacting objects and furniture inside them. Inside them there are notes that are left by travelers of LOCIS, many are notes of mad peoples that have only meaningless or frustrating phrases, while other notes are very useful to understand what are the dangers of the area. In the rooms you can also find two types of keys and blue flames.
The game has the basis for being a multiplayer game. I am sure that developers are creating a version in which a worldwide (or regional) Scoreboard is added, to allow speedrunner players to compete each other all over the world.
To developers:
The game is very interesting, I think adding more areas, items, animations, NPCs and interactions can make it much more explorable and interesting to play. I noticed that it takes a lot of runs to see the whole game. Adding a scoreboard in my opinion will be a good way to engage players more in the game.

Since I saw it on Steam a few weeks ago, I was in hype waiting to be able to buy it!
Having finally tried it, I can say with certainty that my $10 was well spent.
The game starts with a big premise, that of proposing a PROCEDURAL horror... after about 2 hours of play I can confirm that it succeeds in its intent, my 3 runs were all very different (both for areas visited, both for monsters, dangers etc ...).
The plot is weak at the beginning, but I think it is wanted since going forward it goes to discover through scraps of paper scattered around... personally I find it cool, I loved the character of UBEL... I don't want to spoiler too much about it.
The direction of the sound and the music is simply perfect, it manages to give moments of psychological tension at times (almost like a silent hill game) and I really appreciated the care of this.
Now I would like to talk a little about the cons of this game.
The experience always manages to be different as already said before, but it has enormous limits, the procedurality is limited to this infinite hallway and by always different events/special areas (which is not a little, but more could be done). But I want to give the benefit of the doubt, considering that the game is still in early access and therefore could easily improve.
In addition, the game still has little replay value, the only "unlockable" is the hardcore difficulty (which I haven't unlocked yet), on this point, however, I want to say that the developers have announced that they are working on a new update that will add replayability to the game, hope for the best.
Last thing, I wanted to really compliment the developers, who only 2 people are managing to create something very original and above all just look at the community hub to notice their dedication in keeping players updated on a regular basis... I hope they will continue this way.
I recommend supporting this project, in my opinion it's worth it.
p.s. devs, add the toggle for the crouch! pls xD

LOCIS (pronounced [‘lɔt͡ʃis], coming from Latin plural dative or ablative for locus, loci) is a procedural survival horror game. This means that it’s not divided into levels, but areas which can spawn randomly. That’s one of its most particular issues, probably unique if you consider the only survival horror genre in videogames. As a beta tester, I’ve followed the evolution of LOCIS and I’ve seen so many features added to the game.

When you’re going to start a run you can choose among three different difficulty levels: Explorer, Nightmare and Hardcore (this one can be unlocked only by surviving in both an Explorer and a Nightmare difficulty run). So, the aim of LOCIS is not to last many hours with a long single player campaign: you can beat the game in Explorer difficulty in less than 20 minutes but still have many other contents (like special areas and parts of the story) to discover.

Also, LOCIS is meant to be played multiple times to learn how enemies and traps work. Because of that, even a loss could be useful to learn from your mistakes and gain experience. It’s a kind of trial and error mechanism, as we have seen in many games very different from LOCIS (like Cuphead and even parodies like Cat Mario). The main consequence of playing a “trial and error” game is that you can’t expect to win on your first attempt, and LOCIS is not an exception: it’s very hard to win immediately, even on Explorer and Nightmare difficulty. If you accept that, it’ll be less frustrating when you’ll lose your first runs without knowing the reason.

During the last months many features, areas and enemies have been implemented in the game. Since the first alphas, LOCIS has become more vast and detailed. Pixelization is one of its trademarks, but it can be reduced until almost zero in the options. Still about the graphics, it’s clear that this game’s purpose is not something like a photorealistic reproduction of reality. LOCIS bets on a retro graphics and multi-thematic locations, objects and characters.

If you accept all of these elements (which are not mistakes but parts of the game consciously estabilished by devs to make the game more challenging), you could be ready to take the LOCIS challenge and you could enjoy, appreciate and maybe love this game. LOCIS is still in early access and many features are coming up next. To summarize:

PROs:

-Original game concept;
-Multi-thematic areas, textures and models;
-Complex plot that you can discover by reading the sheets you find… or you can simply ignore them and enjoy the gameplay;
-Random spawns into this procedural game, which means that every run is almost completely unpredictable and different from the others;
-Many references, secrets and random rare events to find and discover.
CONs (but you might not see them as cons, it depends on you):

-It’s possible to reduce pixelization, but someone might still not appreciate this graphics style (by the way, you can see it in the trailers and images);
-The more you learn, the more you win; this is a good issue for someone and negative for someone else;
-Some runs could be long and the game doesn’t allow you to save during them: it’s a bad idea to play LOCIS if you have ten free minutes, unless you don’t care about finishing your run;
-Because of the procedural imprinting in the game, there might (sometimes) exist a luck factor; but about that, I noticed that this element has been progressively reduced and I don’t remember a run I lost only because of bad luck in the last two or three builds.

In conclusion, LOCIS has some positive and negative elements, which (especially the negative ones) depend on your tastes. They aren’t defects, they are game features consciously implemented by the devs, and without them LOCIS wouldn’t probably be LOCIS, but an anonymous and neglectable videogame like many others. Personally, I didn’t find many mistakes or negligences and I found a deep care and attention for every aspect (also considering that there are only two devs).

There is probably no single game which can satisfy every type of player, and LOCIS is not an exception. By the way, within its genre, LOCIS makes a very good impression and has still a big potential to express.

EDIT: Also (my mistake), I forgot to mention the very good soundtrack with some references to Silent Hill. Music and sound effects give an important contribute in order to create the right atmosphere for LOCIS.

I really wish I could recommend this game. LOCIS is a first-person survival horror roguelite that is procedurally generated each time you play. It is meant to be played multiple times and features multiple endings. Sadly, I never reached any of these endings as I was not a big fan of the general game play.
LOCIS is a world created after the battle between a big bad demon and a big bad angel. It sits in between the worlds of good and evil and three beings are set over it to judge whether those who pass through LOCIS are worthy of being damned or absolved.
The game play primarily consists of walking down straight hallways while opening doors on either side, searching for ones that lead to a wall of blackness that take you to one of fourteen different environments. Many doors are locked but the ones that are open lead to rooms with a few piece of furniture inside, some of which have drawers that sometimes contains a silver or gold key or a page that contains lore expounding upon the world of LOCIS. The keys can be used to open locked doors. Doors requiring silver keys lead to new zones. Doors requiring gold keys lead to special rooms where you can get power-ups to help you escape the various enemies you'll face through the hallways.
My main problem with the game is the main game play loop isn't very engaging to me. You can run through the same zone forever and not find anything you need to progress and the next time you will find it almost immediately. Some of my deaths I felt were fair and just consequences of learning the enemies, but there were also several deaths that seemed out of nowhere or unavoidable.
I really find the idea of the world of LOCIS to be interesting, primarily because it reminds me of liminal spaces and the backrooms creepypasta, both of which I got heavily into for a while. Weird psychedelic stuff that straddles the line between true religious and spiritual occurrences and hallucination-laced delirium. My enjoyment of the general art, themes, and vibe of the game isn't quite enough to keep me interested in continuing it because of the dull game play.
If you have patience, it might be your cup of tea. It's extremely inexpensive so there isn't much of an investment to play it. I don't know how long you will get out of this game but I expect it to probably be in 3-4 hour range for most of the major endings, probably much more to 100% the game.

LOCIS is a horror game lacking in variety and intrigue, beyond the first hour of learning the game there is really nothing more to see. You walk through endless corridors that all look the same with nothing happening for 10 minutes until you interact with a 'Monster' which can range from small inconvenience to instant death, making the game feel random and unfair at times. There are notes scattered through out the game that could build intrigue and give clues to secrets, but I have found they lead to nothing except another different looking room among the endless corridors. LOCIS has a good start, but not enough in the game to be considered finished. I applaud the developers for what they were able to make with little budget and two person work team, but I can't say I enjoyed the experience.
Edit: After playing another hour, I realize the game play itself isn't captivating. Not only is the game simply a series of doors along a hallway randomly generated, the rooms in said hallway lack variation to keep it interesting. Different areas are simply hallways with minor variations, making encountering new areas not even exciting more of a name change, the only areas with intrigue were either way to short (being a 5 second walk) or being a literal singular room. The only idea I found quite interesting was the Wayfarers. A group of beggars that you can give part of your soul to to gain a key, or you may leave them to their own devices and they die, letting you gain more soul. Other then that I find the experience boring and slow, to the point where playing is an actual chore. As I said before, This game needs more, there are notes that lead to nothing, doors that lead to nothing, characters that lead to nothing, and most of all game play that leads to a boring experience.
Edit but Again: Finished the game, everything I said still stands, except the ending is very underwhelming.
