The new game inherited the unique design of Eight Defenders' enemies and crews. For example, Samurai in Reverse Defender got the skill to counter metallic enemies and slow down enemies from Samurai and Magic Fighter in Eight Defender.
The journey requires more strategical planning before you advance. If you didn't take the essential chest or class, then you gotta stuck at some choke points. Having backup save data would be better if you need to reduce unnecessary time swifts.
However, the newer game is not flawless. Let's see if the dev team willing to change or improve them...?
The first problem I encountered was the lack of no mouse support. You can't set your crews to meditating status via your mouse. Controlling is a bit inconvenient for me, but I somehow adapted to beating the game with keyboard only.
And the second one is insufficient save slot. This game requires save and load to reduce unnecessary time swifts, and this requires me to cover my newer save data with my older one. (when I notice another way to reduce my steps) 3 save slots are not enough for me, can we have more save slots to make more checkpoint?

What the heck...no mouse support in 2021?
I felt like I had stepped back in time to 1989, before every PC had a mouse. But instead, I just stepped into this dev's awful game that you have to use a controller or the keyboard to play. Absolute garbage.

No mouse support. stage based game play with little to no carry over to next stages. honestly feels like a mobile game. I would rather have a significantly slower rate of progression on characters and gain permanent exp and levels, than play a stage game where it all vanishes after each stage, this is my personal opinion though.
