This is one of the best games here on Steam. Scenario, game play - everything is just great. A lot of possibilities to discover, I've just started the game, but I already decided to spend the entire weekend playing Kazakh Drive for the sake of Uncle Eldos. You know, boards can't bring themselves on their own. Best regards and ALGA

This could have been a nice Test Drive remaster, but the ridiculous difficulty makes it unplaylable for me.

This is an endurance racer: You have to drive for an hour or so without crashing to pass the first task. The apparent best strategy is pretty mindless: drive on the shoulder, keep your wipers on all the time, and spray fluid when the windshield gets dusty. The oncoming traffic lane is way too risky to use because you can't usually see if it's clear. I do want to like this game, and certain improvements could make me recommend it: 1. controller support 2. some kind of meaningful decision to make while driving. There needs to be some reason I shouldn't just drive on the shoulder to pass. 3. get some credit for driving shorter distances

Long story short. Put on aviator sunglasses. Upload and turn on Kavinski - Nightcall. Drive for first 10 seconds and got killed by truck. Mehsoft, your finest game so far!!!

Eastern European Desert Bus Story: You play as Zhaldos. Your uncle has started building a house and he needs you to go and get some wood and bring it back to a construction site and so you being a good kid decided to help him and venture out on the 120KM journey. That's about all the story you really get, it's a very quick backdrop to set up why you're driving such a long road and it's fine, nothing special, but it at least gives you a backdrop. Graphics: Visually Kazakh Drive is a very simple looking game. It's pixelated simulation of a road and it actually has a few cool gimmicks like dirt, night and day cycles, rain etc. There's not much variety, but the work put into it is quite fun, I especially like how when you drive on a dirt for a bit, it starts to muddy up the window and you have to clean it so your vision doesn't disappear. The road itself is pretty boring, it's basically a long straight road and there's not much to break up the boring environments and I get that it's supposed to be a realistic driving simulator, but when driving from city to city you usually pass some landmarks, which I could feel make you at least feel like you're getting somewhere. Audio: Not much audio design to speak of. The car itself sounds pretty bad, very choppy, not like a real car at all, more like an chopped up crunched audio. There's a few tracks you can listen to on the radio, but I didn't like any of them, but what's a cool feature is that you can import your own music which is absolutely great and really made me dig this drive. Gameplay: If you heard of Desert Bus, then you know it was made as an anti-game. It was a simulation to test your endurance for a long ass road trip and this is a much more casual experience of that. You drive from point A to point B and try to rack up as high score as possible, one delivery being one point. So let's begin with the driving. It works pretty fine and I actually quite enjoyed it, but it did take time to get used to it's very loose controls, it feels like the car is overly sensitive and it's easy to just steer yourself off the road and into another car which will kill you and then you're sent back to the start. Also of course you can still get into traffic where the cars in front of you drive slowly and the passing cars come by super fast. It wound up getting me killed multiple times and I got frustrated fast, but I found that if you just drive on the dirt barely hitting the grass you can avoid oncoming traffic and pass everyone and once I figured that out, I had tons of fun, although there's not much here and apart from that one singular journey, I was done. Verdict: Kazakh Drive is a fine little experience if you ever wanted to experience an actual playable version of Desert Bus. It's a relaxing little road trip on the countryside, but there's not much value once you made your first trip, but if you like driving and want to try something new, I suggest checking this out. Final Rating: 6.5/10 Pros: + Some cool visual gimmicks + Gameplay is pretty fun + Allows you to use your own music Cons: - Audio design sucks - Car is a bit overly sensitive - Will get tedious fast - Not much variety in the visuals If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews

A thoroughly tedious, yet, lighthearted idea that is severely impaired by an awful engine, narrow scope, and insufficient development. Positive: - The premise is, albeit superficially, charming and endearing. The driving has a purpose and the brief glimpse at a deeper story is amusing. Neutral: - Although there are not many tracks, the synthwave music included with the game complements the concept and atmosphere. One's own personal collection of music could be played from the car stereo in the game, too. Unfortunately, track progression is not automatic and requires a manual transition. - While the controls are very basic and sparse, there are some elements of the gameplay that are not explained, at all. This lack of instruction and obtuse ambiguity create an initially confusing experience. - Audio effects are minimal and inadequate. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles don't really make mechanical sounds, rain and thunder are noiseless, and crashes are totally muted. - Aside from the occasional downpour, there are no random events whatsoever. Other drivers do not demonstrate unusual behaviors and they do not exhibit any signs of artificial intelligence. They simply drive on a rail, as if nothing else exists around them. Negative: - There is no save system. The trip must be made in one sitting, which takes close to one hour to complete, if successful. Crashing means starting over from the beginning, as there are no checkpoints, either. - Collision detection is unpredictable at best, and erratic at worst. One's driving skills are irrelevant because calculating safe distances between other vehicles is practically useless. - Driving controls are generally slow and unresponsive. This has nothing to do with a pretended simulation aspect, since navigating the menus produces the same laggardly effects. - Everything in the game takes far too long to load. Death scenes, going back to the main menu, and restarting the trip take many seconds, when it should be as close to instant as possible. - The frame rate is locked at 30 per second during trips, and going between menu screens can even go down to single digits. - Taking advantage of the windshield wiper and wiper fluid while driving on the shoulder is an approach that almost completely eliminates reflexive challenges, rendering the main road to be utterly pointless. - All aspects of the vehicular maneuvering mechanics are limited, dull, and boring. There are no curves and there are no scenery changes. One only drives straight and avoids traffic. - Alt-Tabbing out of the game while paused may inadvertently crash the playable vehicle. There is nothing that could be done to avoid this situation. Overall rating: 2.0/5.0
