Not worth the money, it had promise I bought it when it was 30$ I feel like I got bamboozled, Now I'm stuck with it because I played a lot in beginning, but I've totally lost interest. A new pvp zone does nothing for me, I don't like pvp..so I probably won't play this game again unless something big happens, and from what it looks like I doubt that. The game is dead. Sad, really.

Okay so im gonna be real. The game is NOT worth $25 in the slightest. HOWEVER that doesn't mean it's not worth money! $10-15 i'd say would be more reasonable, but this game IS worth playing even at the barebones if you like the hack n slash MMO style! It's really cute looking and graphically it's really pleasing to look at! Just keep in mind it IS a early access game. That doesn't mean it's bad, it just needs work. They already did an update on certain things so i'd LIKE to imagine they'll update regularily. Here's hoping this mmo gets the love it deserves!

I really like the game and it has tons of potential. Of course it's early access so there is a lot of missing content, but the developers seem to be working daily on fixing bugs and adding in more content. I was happy to pay for early access to support their efforts.
However, if you are buying this game expecting a full mmorpg, you won't be satisfied - yet. It still needs a lot of work, but the potential is there and there is real tangible progress being made every day. Personally I'm confident that the developers will make it all the way to the end so I bought in to early access. I like how when I posted some bugs in the official discord channel, the developers immediately replied.
Right now (June 4th 2023) there is a story line and some side quests, and 2 raid-like dungeons. Crafting is so far very limited, and resource gathering like mining is also very limited. So there isn't much to do yet.

still in beta so yeh lots of bugs. The jumping mechanic is wack. I wanted to play this and relax but I end up getting angry since I get hit by some random enemy attack that should not hit. Especially, when there's a red circle indicating where the attack is going to land. Even though I am out of it, somehow I just take damage.

I purchased this game a few months ago when it was £20 and with the knowledge that it was Early Access and a full wipe would occur before the final release.
I could not motivate myself to deal with the many bugs back then and i withdrew from the EA.
I returned with this final release last week, missing the launch day, but played over the weekend.
The price to purchase has now been reduced greatly to £12.
I have played a solid 20+ hours over the weekend and for me i feel that is more than enough value for money.
I am admittedly addicted to all MMO/MMORPG/ARPG games out there and I purchase nearly every single one of them, including premium packs on F2P games.
Many of the reviews mention the business model of this game as being the wrong choice, ultimately this is the devs business decision and not ours, I do feel though that the initially high pricing back in June created a tsunami of negative feedback and opinion and it may be too little to late with the price drop.
The price now is fine but may not be enough to regain previously interested players due to the negative reviews.
The population is very low and this will need improving if the games mechanics (planned and current) are to be realised.
World Boss encounters require group, Boss encounters ideally require groups, PvP requires many players, Sieges require many Pvpers etc etc.
The graphical theme of player avatars and the map scenery is incredibly cutesy.
I dislike cute lol....but this works really well in Cinderstone.
The camera is actually fine as well once you get used to it via practice.
The dodge mechanic is reasonable and is a staple ingredient of most encounters.
Questlines and grindy moments as per standard mmo releases.
I have yet to get started on the crafting and gathering aspects of the game that open up around lev 20 with a device that automatically gathers resources. Looking forward to tinkering with this.
If you have gotten this far reading the above you may now be asking 'so why has Hexorcist given a positive review?'
Quite simply because I have really enjoyed my time ingame so far and I believe this game has potential providing the population is improved.
During my time over the weekend I watched the solo dev work tirelessly on bugs and issues that were being reported via discord.
I witnessed many bugs and issues being resolved, some were ones that had been bothering the team for a long time but with the community feedback and dev diligence these were squashed in the last couple of days.
For me the discord and dev activity is a good sign.
Let's be honest, it is increasingly difficult for veteran gamers such as myself to find that outstanding new game that keeps us interested for more than 3 months.
So many of the releases in the last 5 years have been very disappointing and i am not certain I will ever find a game that I will call my 'forever game' but in an effort to have fun gaming I shall give every release that shows potential, a chance to shine.
In summary, this game has great potential and is a lot of fun.
I have enjoyed myself so far and it would be unjust of me to slap a negative review on it.
At the current price of £12 it is well worth trying out.
I wish the dev and his team all the best for the next few months and I hope the population grows.

how could they not consider adding Q + E to rotate your character? or even clicking a button to lock the camera to the mouse movement? stuck right-clicking and holding right-click to change the camera constantly. it hurts my hands
no keybind settings at all, no autorun - and to get started in this game the quests have you running A LOT A LOT A LOT!!!!!!!!!!
objects around the world will have names straight from the code like "Shrine_Sidequest_2"
beat a kill quest? message pops up "default text kill". Progress the main quest? similar pop-up. its just so unpolished
the very first quest cutscene glitches out and is really zoomed in on the character's face. I confirmed this is consistent across multiple attempts. Also the whole scene is incredibly strange and doesnt really make any sense
definitely feels like something someone programmed but NEVER played
also, I havent played this much. the game runs in the background unless you quit the launcher after exiting the game

i tried this game just for the heck of it. thought it would be a nice change of pace from the traditional mmo. sadly, as much as i wanted to like the game, it's riddled with bugs, combat is fairly boring, no tutorial as to how anything works in the game, camera is slightly janky, and i understand the game is in early access, but i don't see it improving at all. wouldn't be surprised if the game goes F2P within the first year

What initially seemed to be a small indie company making an mmo, turning into a get rich quick scam. All servers are dead.

Early Access
1. UI needs a major overhaul. Not graphically...it's just not user friendly in the least.
2. I've been trying to find this damn Mistletoe (the first quest) for over an hour with no luck. The first quests in an MMO are supposed to teach players game mechanics and drive story...not drive them away. I gave up and started exploring. Most people are NOT as patient.
3. I have not seen a single other player since logging in.
4. Combat feels "wonky". Only played mage, but it is very trying. Weapon keeps firing long after button release, pulling additional mobs. Combat needs more impact and "feels" soft.
5. World looks great graphically. I've never been a fan of the Character Art style. Wish they would have gone in a different direction.
I played in a VERY early version of this game as a tester. It's come a long way. It has a LONG way to go. At $14.99 it's a fun diversion for a couple days to see how a dev imagines an MMO. This one has a ton of potential if the devs can put the systems they want into the game. I see this being very fun upon release.
Verdict: Worth the early access if you UNDERSTAND what an EARLY ACCESS is. Tons of potential and could be fun in the future. Give it a shot. When it finally releases you'll be glad you did...if the devs follow through.

Buyers, beware: when you shut down this game, it keeps a process in the background that makes Steam believe it is still running, which means it keeps adding to your total playtime.
When you try to kill the process, it keeps re-opening itself over and over.
Whether it is a dishonest practice to make you go beyond the 2 hour refund limit or a ridiculous oversight, I won't support this game further and I asked for a refund.
Oh yeah: the game is cute and I might get it again once they fix it.
Developers, please respect your customers.
