If the aesthetic turns you off then just don't play it; in my opinion its not as bad as some people have made it out to be. Otherwise, I think its a great game. I don't play many doom-like (boomer? retro?) shooters but I think this one is pretty fun. My only complaint is that some of the bosses aren't really fun to fight; some bosses are just 3D bullet hell bullet sponges.

incredible atmospheric shooter , plenty of jankiness and has a crashing issue but overall a really positive experience. Can turn off the excessive gore in game function, which is appreciated. Fascinating world, would love to see the story flushed out better. The artwork is quite good, hand drawn characters (and gore), and some grisly themes - beware if that bothers you.

This game is like hiring an escort, but then they take you on a really fun date at an arcade or something instead of just doing... the usual. Not what I was expecting, but oh boy do I not regret it.

If you like anime and DOOM and plenty of gore then this will hit your fancy, the game play is great as well. The story is pretty dark and fairly depressing as well so you have all your bases covered for a fantastic game.

if this game could take the time to explain anything to you besides sometimes telling you stuff through shelves that would be great. also the bosses could be better. really like the art and gameplay (when you can figure it out) but boss design, level design, and generally not explaining what the difficulty sliders mean or what the three bars are, which (from what i can tell) is health, stamina, and a limiter to the other 2. Why? cause F you apparently. would really like to recommend, i want to love this game. but level, boss, and health design really drag it down.

The game offers an enjoyable experience initially, with its fast-paced gameplay and nostalgic mechanics paying homage to classic first-person shooters. However, the level design quickly becomes repetitive, with locations lacking distinctiveness and a pervasive gray aesthetic that fails to evolve throughout the game. While the core mechanics and weaponry are solid, they don’t elevate the game to stand out among other modern "boomer shooters." The game is relatively short, easily completed in one or two sessions, and while there are options to increase the difficulty, the repetitive enemy types and uninspired level design make it feel less rewarding to do so. The inclusion of anime-inspired characters, or "waifus," feels underdeveloped and somewhat out of place within the game’s world, adding little to the overall experience. That said, for its price point, it’s a decent pick-up, especially during a sale. It’s a quick, casual shooter that might appeal to fans of the genre, but it lacks the depth and variety needed to leave a lasting impression. If you’re looking for a more refined or innovative take on the retro FPS formula, this might not fully satisfy. I hope the second one is better.

I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a boomer shooter.
Pros:
Detailed weapons with unique mechanics, props for being able to pick up magazines and rounds dropped during emergency reloads, great attention to detail for a game in this genre. In depth movement mechanics, tactical leaning, ledge grab, sliding. These mechanics allow you to basically set your own pace depending on your skill. Player controlled mechs in certain levels. Great art style. Interesting story, though I wouldn't really say it's a major focus. Decent replay value, I played through 3 times just to get all of the weapons, the game was enjoyable every time.
Cons:
Some stability issues, I had a decent amount of crashes. Some enemies glitch through walls or are able to shoot you through walls, though this is rare.

Very fun to play, but please, optimize it. It crashed almost every intermission and during levels

This game was deep in my memories. It seems so obscure, but it should be renowned the world over. It has everything I like: Guns, anime women, religious imagery, horrific gore, deeply involved gunplay, platforming, upgrades, sweet characters, and one of the most unique, efficient, and breathtaking graphical directions out of any game. There's some minor bugs, and I recommend adjusting the controller settings in steam input. After that, the game is a thrill to beat! The "easy" difficulty is at least as hard as classic DOOM's "Ultra Violence", so starting there will give you a very satisfying climb up the difficulty ladder.
