This game offers so much more than I initially thought on my first play through. it may be a bit rough around the edges but still 100% recommended.

if you like boomer-shooters with a gritty ang gory anime-styled design, you´re in the right place. Some gameplay is not polished enough imo (basically navigating and movement e.g. control of jumps mid-air etc.). I really enjoyed it and would recommend if you like games like Doom (the old one ;).

I get why people like it but for me the graphics were really off putting. Just a personal preference thing but mechanically I'd def recommend this to fans of the genre if you like the artstyle that you see in the trailer. I just couldn't get over it, dunno.

Great shooter with a touch of lewdness and a punch of gore. Very fun.

A bit late, 5 years now, but I'm glad to have found this hidden gem of a game, I'm going to get the bad parts out first, the game is a bit buggy, not much but it's still there: - Some guns when aim down sight have a black outline on the gun or the gun has no texture just black, I can't quite explain it but it's very hard to aim when the the blackened gun blend in with the black void or somewhere else - Enemies sometimes fall off the map, sometimes... so I don't mind it And that's all there is, maybe there's more but those are some of the main ones in my opinion There soooooo many great things about this game, it has a unique style of art, because of it uniqueness lots of people mistake this for a "gooner", "gore or guro fetish" game, I looked into the development of the game, seems like the dev was accused and harassed by other people, I'm glad the dev didn't give up. Like I said there are many great things bout this - I'm a simple guy, ingame I wanna blow up my enemies to pieces, and this game offer that, literally bits and pieces of enemies everywhere, and I love it -Yes, I know all enemies are girls, or maybe boys that look like girls idk, apparently there are lore behind it, the dev explained it in an interview which got me hooked, very intrigue. I also like the techno machine stuff mixed in with the art style of the game, very ominous and interesting - Gunplay is solid, projectile velocity or... idk, the bullet curve is satisfying - Enemy's AI is average, not that great but not that bad either - And of course, nostalgia, being a kid again playing the og doom on an old pc with an xp window version Never thought shooting anime gals to pieces is a genre I can enjoy, the dev earned my respect. Give it a go if you're not so picky like me, its also very cheap. I got both this and the "beyond" one can't wait to play it

it's worth it, i had fun playing this, though sometimes it crashed out of nowhere. Also tip for new player (get used to the scream sound).

A fun classic shooter even if superseded by its sequel. Art, aesthetics, music, and gameplay are all solid. Very minor bugs.

When I saw this game on the GManLives channel, I liked what I saw. It seemed interesting and good. However, after playing for some minutes, I can confirm that it isn't for me. In the past, I have recommended games that, even when they didn't reach out to my heart, I was able to see that they were good. That they deserve to be praised, even when I didn't loved them. However, The Citadel doesn't fall into this category. The game is too heavy on my laptop. The game seems to be very badly optimized and, a game as heavy as Borderlands 2 runs way smoother than The Citadel. It has loading times that can't be justified when running from an SSD, and even less seeing the graphics it sports. The graphics in the game are something I can't seem to enjoy either. It's just... plain? Like something put together for a game jam, rather than a professional game. I would have expected something with more detail, like Project Warlock. It also has simplistic graphics, but those are way more interesting to look at than The Citadel. And don't get me wrong: I'm not against the use of the anime girls. It's more a problem with the levels themselves.

Really enjoyed this. I've never played any of the games it's inspired by, but decided to give it a shot and wasn't disappointed. The gameplay is very fun especially after getting all the weapons and swapping between them during combat. Art and music is really cool and I loved the feel of everything. I do wish there was more to it in terms of story. The premise was cool, but I had a hard time feeling invested in what was going on. Which is a shame because cosmic horror is my favourite. I did crash multiple times in between levels, but I never lost any progress and it was quick to relaunch so it didn't really impact my experience. Overall it's a cool game that I don't regret trying out.
