This game is significantly less fun than the first one, it has none of the charm and it feels like they wanted to do a million things and accomplished none of them. the story is all over the place, the sense of progression is null, the importance of choices feels negligible, and ultimately feels empty. part of the fun of the first game was finding secrets among your land and improving your castle and peoples lives, many of the petitioners had actually interesting requests that affected the rest of your run, in this one though there is none of that, all the petitioners just repeat themselves over and over and don't offer anything of value, the places you explore simply give you temporary consumables to use on your useless petitioners. I'm greatly disappointed

Fantastic. The visuals, storytelling, and gameplay have all seen major improvements over the first game (especially the gameplay, the management and battle mechanics were great). I didn't get any major bugs like some others, and the devs have been updating it nonstop to fix the bugs, as they've announced they're only pausing development in order to sleep. This is just what I'd expect when it's such a small team and testing may not be as accessible as it is for a large studio. If the bugs bother you, I implore you to wait a week as I truly believe they'll fix them, and we'll be left with an incredible game.
Again, they have only been stopping development to sleep, I truly believe it will be fixed soon. Even if you do not buy it now, do not forget about it, it is absolutely worth your time, money, and attention.

It's a good sequel, but with some flaws. I won't talk about story line, as it's interesting enough that it's worth discovering.
On plus side:
- Runs great on steamdeck
- adds new mechanics
- familiar characters from YYG
- Stunning music and very good visuals
And the flaws
- sometimes feels like your choices don't matter
- king is well... Let's just say that he's a bit incompetent
- sometimes rewards for your input seems inadequate to amount of resources/agent actions you've putting into it
Open points:
- Items are a bit too powerful and cheap compared to agent actions
- progress wiping (especially on kingdom leveling) is a bit strange mechanism, but it's not annoying.
Also I have to say it again - music is amazing.

I really wish steam had a neutral recommendation option. I loved the first game and think that the game looks better and I love love love what they did with agents, but that's about where the stuff that I love ends.
I am only at chapter 3, but that is where my main issue lies and it feels very hard to continue playing. Not only is it the least polished so far (Thankfully unlike most I didn't face game ending bugs) but it is also annoying to play, mostly because I hate the objective, I hate that it feels like we are just going with the flow, no plan no goal like idiots for 12 aimless weeks. I feel like this entire section could have been removed and the more pressing matters without spoiling what they are should have been prioritised, instead after the 12 weeks we get a message and remember, oh yeah there is this catastrophe we need to attend to. It just felt silly, filler is fine, but this just was not done right in my opinion.
My biggest issue though is the resource resets.I find them annoying, but at least between chapter 1 and 2 there is a good story reason for it, but from chapter 2 to 3, where did my stuff go? I hate the idea of taking the players resources away in general, but if you feel like you just have to from a game design perspective, then fine, give me a reason.
You already gave a good reason once, so why not again? If you felt like it would be contrived given the number of chapters, then maybe, just maybe DON'T DO IT!
Here is a novel better idea, have a stockpile limit, oh wait YOU DID THAT IN CHAPTER 2!
I really don't get the decision making behind the design and it is very frustrating, I might be over reacting, but it really hurt my ability to enjoy the game.
I will update the review when I finish the game, or more accurately, if I can finish the game.

The launch of the game was bumpy, but that is due to the fact that it is greatly expanded in terms of scope, graphical fidelity and length over the original game. Yes Your Grace: Snowfall is more mechanically interesting than its predecessor, tells a great story and features a far more larger and more fleshed out cast of characters. If you enjoyed the first game but felt it fell short of its potential, you should absolutely play Snowfall- and in terms of fantasy games, there's nothing quite like it in its presentation and gameplay style. Give it a whirl- I promise you won't regret it.

The peasant interactions are RNG to the point where they do not make sense. Every NPC can have any story associated with them. A little boy showed up talking about his husband, for instance.
By end of chapter 4 I had lost all motivation to do my best - I couldn't tell what was a bug in the game and what wasn't when certain quest lines just abruptly became impossible. Multiple times I got stuck on screens and thought I was locked out of progressing but it was just leaving you without enough clues about where to click to see the little quest marker.
The kingdom management element is not satisfying, every chapter resets your resources to zero except. You keep agents and items, but without the gold to pay agents and the supplies to explore areas you will inevitably fail to keep up with the many, many side quests while keeping your peasants, who have no personality, happy. It just really lacks a sense of rewarding you for having made it further into the game when you lose your currencies every chapter.
Some parts of this may just be that an expanded version of the original game isn't for me, but I also think that the little touches in this game are somewhat lacking.

After playing through the entire game, I sadly have to say it was disappointing. It feels like this sequel tried too many things at once, the team got overwhelmed, had to cut most of it and released a game that feels unfocused.
There are many parts in here that could've been interesting, but never amount to anything. The plot lacks clear goals within each chapter that you are progressing towards. It starts out strong with the first chapter which feels like a true sequel to the first game, but quickly runs out of steam by chapter 2. Connections to King Eryk's nightmare's and the waking world only became clear at the end, by which point I was already severely annoyed, by the recurring mini sections each evening. The whole Morana goddess of destruction or hope thing felt very disconnected from your decisions and actions as queen. Your kids were exactly as they were in part one and the randomised petitioners did truly feel random and disconnected from the plot this time around. There are 3 villains in this game, but they get frequently shoved aside to be replaced by the next for no clear reason.
Old returning character have had seemingly no developement or worse end up in the exact same place as in part 1 (looking at Asalia).
Newly added characters are way too numerous to leave much of a lasting impression or allow to care for all of their storylines. Especially those added after the midgame. The new ressource mechanic is fine, but again has so many items to choose from, which some having only use in very limited quests or the very, very late game, making their use obscure and confusing.
All in all I think this new entry added feels bloated and too short at the same time. Both in it's mechanics and it's plot.
I'm hoping the team can make a third part work, because I think there's lots of potential here, but I have few good things to say about the execution of part 2. There is no denying the charming artstyle which looks even better in this iteration than it did in part 1. I also did care a lot about the plot between the recurring agents, the witch, general and hunter, but probably because they were already such integral parts of the first game. The fight scenes were engaging and well iterated upon how they played in part 1.

I loved the original, but I truly can't recommend this game to anyone in its current state. I have spent hours trouble shooting this game and rolling back saves to overcome the game breaking bugs and I've eventually given up.
This game needs 6 months of bug fixing before it is playable. When it is, I shall play again and review if it is worthy successor to the original. At the moment it is an avoid.

DO NOT BUY AND HOPE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY IT. The game in its current state if FULL of Bugs. If you take a look through Steam Forums you will notice that every 2-3nd topic is about a GAME BREAKING BUG, preventing someone from continung to play it. I myself got hit in Chapter 3 with multiple of those and can no longer progress the Game, you will not get what you pay for, this is misleading its not a finished game at all.
Update: The Developers are fixing some Bugs already, however the overall release and how this proceeded feels like were beeing used as live playtesters, even if the game will be fixed in the future this kind of release is not acceptable in my opinion.
Update 2: I was able to finish the Game, i encountered some bugs that broke side quests, meaning i lost on Story experience, one of the 2 Quest was a major one with possible influence to the Ending if you werent fully supportive before toward the overall Characters. The Game was fun and kept its charm, however that Ending... it felt like a huge chunk of aftermath was missing, that should have been part of the Game, which further lead me to think, this Game is not "Finished" in the way it was supposed to be.

I know this review sits under a big red thumbs-down icon on Steam, but let me start by saying this: Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall isn’t a particularly bad game. It’s just… painfully average.
You might be wondering—why the negative rating then?
Well, because despite its clear progress over the first installment, Snowfall simply doesn’t go far enough. I promised myself I’d support the developers by buying the game at full price on release, but if it didn’t impress me, I wouldn’t go easy. And, well… it didn’t impress me.
Plus:
✅ If there were awards for soundtracks in games, all of them should go to Snowfall. And I don’t say this just because fellow Poles composed and performed some of it—the music here is genuinely outstanding. Every single track.
✅ The one area where this game really shines is the visuals. Pixel art is an art form, and these devs clearly mastered it. The animations are fluid, the color palette is gorgeous, and the scenes are nothing short of magical.
✅ This time around, the game is natively supported on the Steam Deck—and honestly, that’s the only way I recommend playing it. A big win for portability and comfort.
✅ I think it's slightly longer than the original, which is always welcome in story-driven games.
✅ There's a stronger emphasis on Slavic folklore, which adds flavor and atmosphere...
Minus:
❌ ...but sadly, that folklore doesn’t really mean much. It’s more of a thematic bait than a mechanic. None of the gameplay systems are tied to it, and after a while it just becomes a bit dull.
❌ The story is nearly as naive as the first game, with some "twists" that didn’t land well for me. In narrative-driven titles like this, story is everything, and here it ranges from mediocre to flat-out weak.
❌ The political/"Game of Thrones" vibe (winning over houses and forging alliances) is completely gone. This is a huge gameplay and narrative loss, stripping the game of one of its most advantages.
❌ The aspect of traveling across your lands and helping people on the map is also entirely absent. The world feels dead, static, and disconnected. You travel mostly to get somewhere or collect stupid and useless resources.
❌ Perhaps my biggest gripe: the first game ultimately has no meaningful impact on Snowfall, beyond introducing the characters. You have to play it to understand this sequel—but doing so doesn’t reward you in any way.
❌ The new “kingdom management” mechanics don’t do much to elevate the experience. Yes, they’re better than in the original, but still far from engaging. Battles mechanics remain largely unchanged and unimpressive.
❌ The whole game gives off a vibe of creative fatigue. As if the devs just forced themselves to write a story and mechanics without much care or passion. It’s not just uninspired—it borders on lazy.
❌ A small but irritating detail: As’s hair color. In the first game, she was one of the most beloved characters and favorite daughter for me. Here, she’s reduced to an insufferable caricature that feels more like a clumsy political statement than a fleshed-out human being.
Final Thoughts
This game simply isn’t worth full price. I won’t be supporting the developers with my wallet again—though that doesn’t mean I won’t check out a future installment if it ever happens. Unfortunately, they’ve burned my goodwill they earned with their style and now they’ll have to win me over from scratch.
