Compared to the first game, this one has a rough beginning, but it really does get much better the further along you are, making it an enjoyable experience.
"Snowfall" improves on its predecessor in both writing and gameplay, but it loses a lot by feeling less "whole". The mechanics and the pacing of certain sections
(like the fever dream sequences up until around Chapter V, most of Chapter VI - especially in the castle)
sometimes feel like they were made in a completely different time frame, there's a mismatch in both tone and gameplay from the rest of the game, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. It feels like they didn't have enough time to unify the experience.
From the improvements - the most welcome one is definitely saving mid-day, also the battle section was MUCH better than the first installment. It was nice to have one's agents available multiple times in a single week, though I would've probably enjoyed a less number-based approach to completing the quests in general and Prosperity management.
In terms of writing, I really appreciate how
the Queen
feels more competent in a lot of ways than
the King
did in the first game. There's not a lot of very obvious things our protagonist seems to miss or actively ignore in order to move the story along, it feels much less railroad-y, even though the outcomes are often the same.
But one notably frustrating moment akin to the first game was how utterly pointless it seemed to indulge lord Marcel.
I'm very glad
Cedani
, who was definitely my favorite character (or at least in the top 3) from the first game, remained one in Snowfall.

A categorical downgrade from the original. Could’ve been redeemable with a strong ending .. but there's no ending .. just an abrupt pause. Story feels weak, overly feel-good, and painfully linear with very few actual choices given how repetitive it becomes to play.

Not as good as the original... The main mini game is akin to a mobile phone success/failure game that wears off soon; and you'll be grinding that over and over again add infinitum.

The first game was amazing and made me cry in may scenes. This game is even better! Made me cry more in the end. At first, it might feel slow pace but it gets better. The developers leveled their own kingdom up immensely since first game! %1000000 recommended! If you like a good story, play first and this! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN MORANA!

After I played the first game a while back, I really liked it. And after I saw the second game comes out, I wishlisted it immediately. After its release, the first bummer. It was really expensive. The first game was fantastic but also really short, so I thought it will be hard to justify 20+€ for the second. So I waited until the Steam Summer Sale for it and bought it for like 10-20 percent off a few weeks. And as of now I am really disappointed. I just finished the game and I cannot come to like it. While the story is longer, it is at least to the same extent worse than the story of the first game. And felt tedious towards the mid and the end. Whatever they changed after the first game released they should change it back as I really liked the first one even with the rough edges it had.

I had fun playing this game as a sequel to Yes, Your Grace. I liked the story and the management system. For me, it was easier than the first entry, I barely struggled with the resources and only had to reload in the very first chapter.
On the other hand, the game finishes quite abruptly and it feels like a last chapter is missing. Personally, I liked the first game a little bit more as it was also a bit more challenging and there were more (morally difficult) decisions to be made. The story is even more linear this time. Still, if you liked the first one, the chance is high you would also like this game.

Sadly, a downgrade from the previous game.
The story is very slow, there are some narrative decisions that put the game to a hold and make it a slog to progress (all Eryk dream parts basically serve no purpose for the game).
The gameplay loop is kinda fun but gets very repetitive too quickly, then it is just walking and clicking every new thing you see to progress the game further but veeery slowly.

The UI is now as bland and sterile as your average triple A or mobile game, its lost all its charm. The queue of petitioners don't feel as consequential and connected to the features of the game as they did in the first game. You don't have to worry as much about resource management because you just use agent action points and items for all their needs, they never need gold or supplies.
The graphical improvements are great. I was blown away by the main menu and the 3D environments characters walk around in.
Its cool that the game takes your decisions from the previous one to set up the beginning of this one, but overall it feels like a downgrade.

I love it, I love it, I love it! Though I encountered one especially irritating bug with the controls on the Steam Deck, my enjoyment of this game is through the roof. The story, the storytelling, the characters, the mechanics, the exploration—everything is delightful and enjoyable. I believe that in terms of its core experience, the second game easily surpasses the first; it's richer and, hah, meatier. So, the negative reviews I can only attribute to the "curse of second games in a series" and its buggy launch.
Please, devs, keep up the good work and give us a third, fourth... hundredth game in this setting in the future! I can't get enough of it, and my only complaint is that I want more. 💋

a good mechanic, a strong cast of character, but an a let down climactic last chapter. The writing cease to be sensical, weak and disappointing for a "story rich" game. silver lining is that the ending is acceptable. felt like a rushed last chapter in development.
also, the dream/guilt sequence of the king is a complete eye-roll. bloated, boring, minimal contribution to the overall story.
