The game is advertised as a way to be an intermediate step between low competency with 6axis control of "realistic thrust physics", but intentionally does not support a progression towards full manual control. It is hard to configure your controls because the files don't run like a normal user friendly game, and you are locked into a single mode of control, where the cube racer ONLY allows stabilized vector (it always automatically cancels any non-forward inertia) and ONLY allows stabilized rotation (you cannot have rotation that only changes with input which allows you to spin freely if desired, and instead the user must hold the input to change the attitude, and then when the user lets go all rotation is arrested) ... In short, the game wants to be a way to easily learn, but is hard to use at all, and then only has one step in the learning process made available to the player.
