dragon warrior nostalgia, I recommend the game if you're able to get it with a 35-50% discount

not my first choice for a kemco rpg, or even the dragon series. it's fairly bare bones and has this fomo inducing stat system similar to ff10. That said it's still enjoyable. just odd the formula regressed since sinker and prana

Very excellent game!! There's two ways to getting your stats up. Through regular fighting and the growth plate system. The growth plate system is very vital to getting your stats up as well and via the growth plate system it can help your stats go into the five digit range with your HP being capped at 99,999 even though the max party level is only 99. Excellent story as well along with hilarious dialogue. Definitely worth buying!!

Dragon Lapis, an pixelated light JRPG. It's like playing one on the GBC....but without the depth. You get your party of 4 and (the biggest pro) can change Jobs. To master said Jobs you must find Job-plates and than gain special points to full those plates (for each Job you'll need many many plates). Now that is the selling point for this game and also his biggest weakness. You see to gain points you'll need grinding excessive grinding. In fact there are 2 ways to play this game: a) forget about the Jobs and play a real JRPG. b) do the Jobs and the associated 2 extra dungeons and the rest of the game is like a walking sim.....I played on Hard and finished the last opponent with 1 Hit. The gameplay is very straightforward. You must defeat and evil and visit several dungeons. Each consist of several levels. No secrets and encounter every few steps. Even with normal play you'll reach the highest level (99) before the endgame. Like most of Exe games there is a normal end and if you continue playing you reach the Happy Ending. This time it is only one short extra dungeon. So can I recommend this game.....It has is flaws but still it was funny.

Excellent sequel! Expanded and improved in nearly every way over Dragon Sinker. This series has won my heart, and deserves attention from any classic JRPG fan.

Another serviceable entry by the KEMCO team. Dragon Lapis is a straight-foward retro JRPG. Pros: The job system is well-implemented with growth plates giving you real control over how each character develops, making progression satisfying. There are two sorts of in game currency, gold and lapis. Lapis gives you the option to purchase items that significantly increase your power, if you so choose. Cons: Other than the job system, there isn't a lot of depth here, which is unfortunate because the job system would support it. For example, monsters mostly lack strengths, weaknesses, or immunity. There are no found items outside treasure chests - which seemed like an obvious mechanic for thieves and merchants. No crafting to speak of. The game is also quite easy, even on hard mode. Recommendations: Get it on sale. Its plays well enough it can hook you, which says a lot more than many throw-back JRPGs, so it is worth buying. Play it on hard mode and stay out of the lapis store if you want a meaningful challenge (doing this will force you to spend skill points carefully as they're otherwise slow to earn). Edit: Changing to not recommend. There is endgame content that makes lapis store purchases effectively necessary for completion. Lapis is earned in game, not purchased so its not pay-to-win, at least not with real-world currency. Overall, this game just isn't balanced very well. The main game is way too easy relative to the progression system - the developers really need to start paying more attention to this as it doesn't do justice to otherwise solid work. Unfortunately, this is EXE-Creates MO - they have some good ideas, but don't take the time to flesh any of them out. Would be curious to see what the team could do if given the time to really complete one of their games. This game has an inspired job system, for a throw-back JRPG, that is begging for a more complete game to be built around it. But that's about it.
