An excellent re-release of two under-rated games that adds plenty of new content, including 8 new party members (4 per game). Being able to switch between the games at any time is also a neat addition. No New Game+ unfortunately, but it's okay.

It's alright, but, maybe wait for the devs to fix the billion crashes in Citizens of Space before you buy.

I remember playing Citizens of Earth's demo on my 3DS so I decided to come back to see if I would of loved playing it when I was young. I was correct actually because playing Citizens of Earth was such a fun time and its great that I can buy it and the sequel to the game as well on Steam! I never played the sequel though so after I finished Citizens of Earth I wanted to see how the sequel, Citizens of Space, was and if it had the same charm as the first game. What I found was a game that had the story of the first but had its game-play drastically changed. Now I was totally fine with the Earthbound game-play from the first game and seeing the new game-play for the second made me intrigued but the combat was just bad. Combat is for fighting, not to play mini-games inside the combat which the second game does and I just don't like it. I just actually liked the old combat from the first game which is generic RPG game-play you would see in most RPG games. I really just wished they stuck with the old game-play and gave it a new spruce since it was the sequel. But I still did have a good time playing Citizens of Earth. Definitely play that game if your into Earthbound game-play like I am. Go ahead and try the sequel but I didn't really like it.

I love this game. it's voice acting and dialogue are off the charts. this is not one game, not two games, but three games. it's two classic games and a new story. this is a great game and double the price.

Grand game, although the devs need to fix various errors, starting with better settings for laptops. Truly wonderful to play, with the new content feeling just as natural, and the new music tracks are great as well. As someone who played the originals, I give it a 7 out of 10. (Would be a 9 without the glitches and better settings for a laptop.)

This game is such a great value, it's technically like 2 1/2 games in one as the two games can connect with each other at points, but i honestly haven't gotten that far in either, the first game (Citizens of Earth) is very much a classic rpg in a pokemon like stye, however instead of collecting monsters to battle other monsters, you are the vice president, collecting, well, about any type of professional you can to fight, just about anything you can imagine, it reminds me a lot of earthbound actually. It's very funny and the animation is beautiful. In Citizens of space, you play as Earth's newest Intergalactic ambassador, the combat is a bit different in this game, relying on more timing based button presses, which i'm not as big a fan of, but outside of the combat, the game is very similar and i do love them both. My biggest complaint is the map layout for missions. sometimes it is very hard to figure out where to go, and with random fights lurking all over every area of the map it can be annoying respawning enemies that you have already defeated, but i suppose that is a common element of most classic style rpg games.

As a fan of both Citizens of Earth {CoE} and Citizens of Space {CoE}; I cannot recommend this game and it saddens me to say that. From a playability perspective; both games stand quite fine on their own until you throw in the timewarp plotline. As far as both games go; it feels terribly forced and even the acting for the clock-based villains thus far haven't matched their own narratives. Even with our own perspective Time Shifter in Citizens of Space who literally mans an entire police department on his own by fracturing his own timeline cannot compare to the sheer plotholes these villains ensue. Now the main problem is aside; let us delve into the technical reasons why this game didn't really feel completed. From a Citizens of Earth standpoint; there were hidden nerfs to classes everywhere and very few quality of life improvements. One such nerf was the VR arena and where you could power level citizens using area of effect abilities is reduced in power by over 20%. This is understandable from a technical standpoint but terrible from a gameplay one as certain citizens are lacking in power early game and need to be forcibly leveled to 10~20 range just to be useful in combat without getting one shot by enemies by the time you get them. Then comes the additional "new" characters. These characters are literally only useful for achievements and continuing the secondary plot story. They do not add dialogue to the main game if acquired {At least that I have seen thus far. Still working on beating both and will update}. From a Citizens of Space standpoint; the game crashes when you get an achievement. This is constant and I cannot tell what the cause is. It's annoying as well as frustrating to know you have to backtrack about 5~15 minutes every time you achieve something {Most of which aren't achieving anything}. But from another technical standpoint; at least Citizens of Space finally got those quality of life updates that Sega abandoned. The game however is just Citizens of Earth & of Space. Both games were AMAZINGLY fun to play on their own. But here, it's just a combo pack with a thin thread of interwoven gameplay. It's not new fun as much as old and for the price; I cannot recommend it at full. It's a meh representation of what two great games are mashed together incorrectly. Also, the Dinosaur Librarian on Motor Treads does have green hair though it looks remarkably like a plant. Total Score : 3 out of 5
