The voice recognition was great the last time I played this. Instead of just saying "Earth Nova", you could say "Earth Nova that b^#&*!" and it would still work.
Tip I wish I knew: You have to actually aim and hit stuff when shooting magic bullets. Shooting in the general direction of something won't work if the bullet doesn't actually hit it.

this game is a wonder
i love pokemon , digimon and yugi oh and
now i can say i love this game
first we can think the characters are a little like toy but why not , but the landscape , and lot of monsters and characters we can capture and have in our team are incredible
in this game you can choose in the begining you favorite monster to begin a team
and after a great tutorial, we enter in this universe with a great pleasure
a story really captivating
the vr is great and the gameplay is just incredible
with our gun we can summon differents monsters and capture new to have the team of our dream
, if first we can use our favorite monster to attack other monsters little to little we can join them during the fight , indeed
the monster are not alone to can fight , after few levels we can learn incredible magics and bullets to attack the monsters ourself too and do team
and this create a strategic side in the fights really great
we can buy bullets , health mana and we must take care of all stats and take care of our monster giving them cure or health or mana or ressurect them
every fight is incredible and i really enjoy them and the various levels where we play are amazing
so you understand after the famous pokemon ,digimon , and yuigioh , i think it would be very unfortunate someone miss this new wonder vr Cartridge Monsters
i recommand a lot

This game shows promise, and is certainly proof that creature collection and fighting games can work well in VR. As well as evidence that Voice Commands and control has come a long way. However, it does have some issues. I have gotten stuck in place twice and had to relaunch the game to fix it, and recently lost the last hour of game play due to a glitch with auto save, when it created a new save at the load screen, essentially deleting itself.
Overall an amazing and welcome breath of air, and worth playing to make up your mind on if you think pokemon or similar games will work in VR, but I would try to grab it on sale and tamper expectations a little.

This is a first impressions review are however.
I will be updating it the longer I play it!
One part pokemon, sprinkle in some runescape style graphics, throw it into an end of the world setting and add guns!
This is the best way I can describe the "hook" of this game. You are part of a forgotten clan of monster tamers. The game starts with you being told this, being handed a box of stuff and told to capture a monster. The game has a unique rough charm about it that just brings a smile to my face.
The writing/story is nothing to write home about and there are grammatical issues all over. As far as inventory management there are some issues in my opinion. Items being picked up not telling you what they are is rough for a new player. I also believe a better explanation on what items do would go a long way. A strength/weakness chart and other quality of life things need to be done. But as a VR game built from the ground up it is fairly solid foundation. (I have certainly played alot worse)
summoning monsters, attacks, capturing, healing and buffs...all feel really solid. Cool mechanics such as defending will block dmg. As well as replenish MP. The game can be alittle jank with weird clipping in the environment, weird collision detection and whatnot. That being said it has not hindered my fun of this game so far.
The monsters look wicked as well, the attacks are very flashy. I wish there was more information on the tablet {health of mons out of battle, max HP/MP of monster while healing, a pokedex style list so you know what you have left to catch, and things like that} I also believe a "pokedex" style mechanic where you can scan new mons to atleast learn alittle about them during battle would add to the world building as well as possibly a fun mini game mechanic opportunity.
So far with roughly 2 hours of time in the game I have very much enjoyed my time in Cartridge Monsters. I am adding it to my twitch stream lineup and will be continuing to play this. It is janky, rough looking, but has alot of heart. I definitely can't wait to see more of this game and see what becomes of it as time goes on.
I plan on fleshing this review out the more i play it. Would love to see more to this though! whether it be an expansion, pvp/co-op or a sequel. I am very much sold
i am adding on a clip from the live stream I did if you would like to see raw gameplay.

I love turn-based RPGs. This one is more of a pokemon style one, but I'll take what I can get. I only played it for a bit, but I like it so far. It makes you a bit sick though. The walking speed is a little fast especially while strafing left and right. I'm sure the developer will add a movement speed slider or teleportation or something later. This review is as the game is first releasing.
