Interesting idea but the game is essentially walking up and down a train mixed with some really poor puzzles.

Decent little game but very boring. Dont play unless you have a high tolerance for slowing walking around, back and forth in a train several dozen times.

I love many of the Chilla's Art games, but I can't recommend this one. It's got some bugs and is not as polished as some of the others. More importantly, there is a puzzle that relies on sound with no options for captions or accessibility - if you are deaf or hard of hearing, you will have a really hard time or be completely unable to proceed.

The Ghost Train was a pretty fun game that was decently creepy. It's not my favorite Chilla's art game, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit! I love the Kisaragi Station & Teke-Teke urban legends, so I definitely appreciated those elements in the game. There were a few parts about the gameplay that were a bit tedious, but it wasn't a big deal. I liked the haunted train / train station setting a lot. It would have been cool to have more to do when you arrive at Kisaragi Station, though. The place was very creepy & intriguing, I really wanted to explore it a bit more.

The Ghost Train is a beautifully crafted short horror experience that blends traditional Japanese ghost story elements with immersive exploration and subtle psychological scares. Set aboard a mysterious and eerie train, the game slowly builds tension through atmospheric sound design, unsettling visuals, and cryptic storytelling.
The pixel art style combined with PS1-inspired graphics adds a nostalgic yet haunting vibe that perfectly fits the supernatural theme. The game excels in creating an eerie mood with minimal jump scares, relying instead on ambient sounds, flickering lights, and a creeping sense of dread.
Gameplay focuses on exploration and piecing together the story through environmental clues and diary entries. The pacing is deliberate, allowing players to soak in the atmosphere and unravel the mystery at their own pace.

I've been interested in the Chilla's Art games for a while and finally got Ghost Train as an introduction! I quite enjoyed its simplicity (gameplay and story-wise) combined with the immersive atmosphere and lovely graphics. There's much left for interpretation and while I would've loved more input on the lore, I still like the implications in their actual state.
Objectively I wouldn't call this game flawless (especially because of the repetitive parts and lack of detailed plot) but there's something about it that made me enjoy it a lot, probably the ambience and general style.
I honestly don't have a lot to say about it, however the uncanny vibes and interesting mysteries kept me entertained! Particularly the last section before the end highly intrigued me and I wish it had more content.
