Simple yet effective. Under the simple graphics there is deep game of rock paper scissors at play. Reminds me a little of slay the spire. whereas you have to fight to get strong enough to beat the dragons at the end of the run If you try to avoid too many fight you will be underpowered. If I had one knock is that it needs more than dragons to slay.

I love the pacing of the game, the quips from characters are clever and fun, and I have been waiting for this to release on steam for what feels like ages. Really glad to have this in my library now. If I had to try and find some fault in the game, the -only- thing I can come up with is perhaps that there isn't a windowed setting, but overall... if that's the worst I can say about it, it's ahead of the curve. Keep an eye on this game, it's very much a gem that could be enjoyed by anyone.

This game is so addicting. I cannot stress enough how much actual strategy is needed as the game continues to unlock new monsters and mechanics. You can't just click on the closest monster and hope to get very far. Once you figure out that you don't need to kill every monster in every room, your eyes open a little wider. Changing the characters to fit the room or just looting the treasure and leaving the room are all viable strategies. I hope this little game finds a big audience because it's obvious there was a lot of thought and love that went into it.

lets squash this bullshit now, you buy the game on steam you get the whole thing everything, i had to look up what the hell some people where talking about. NOW the game is fun its like D&D without the 20 sided dice , i am currently 7 hours in and still feel like i am challenged enough to get mad. i would recommend this game if u just wanna chill out and relax but still get a good thrashing,....

Clean board game-like mechanics (visibly rolled dice, hex map, etc.) connected to a set of three characters who each feel different. The Elf wants to leap and gambol about, the Fighter is generally competent, and the Dwarf charges recklessly so he can set up chains of counterattacks. Throw in little flourishes like stealth, backstabs, and guarding and the foundations are solid. The core loop is to enter the dungeon, accumulate the best gear you can find, and then slay the dragon(s) at the end. This is waged through a Career mode that features regular unlocks. As your characters level up, they will start by accumulating new abilities, although eventually this will give way to being about better bonuses. In addition to the career mode, the Campaign mode provides more chances to slay dragons and the Daily Hunts charge you with exterminating other types of creatures using a fixed pool of resources. Other than clearing the dragons from their lair, you're not tasked with having to fight anything else along the way. The art style uses real world miniatures as inspiration (I should know, I own a couple of the models) and is crude but charming. I like to think of it as resembling a game you might play in someone's particularly well-stocked basement. Overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase and would recommend Dungeoneers to anyone who wants a short, tightly designed slay/loot/repeat experience.

Dungeoneers is a great game of strategically pushing your luck and deciding which risks to take. Each game is full of tricky decisions: Which rooms to tackle or avoid and in what order? Do you sneak around stealing things at the risk of being caught in a compromising position, or is it safer to charge in swinging? When is it worth using your limited supply of scrolls to create new options? I've played hundreds of hours of Dungeoneers on Kongregate in addition to here, and I'm still not bored with it. I'm continually impressed by the polished UI, which is so well designed that you almost never have to think about it. Nearly every action is just one click and almost any question I have can be answered by glancing at the room inventory or hovering over it. The odds of success are presented for each sneak movement and attack, while the visible die rolls provide nice tension without really slowing things down. A typical game might be 10-30 minutes, depending on game mode and how many dragons you're preparing to fight. And you can leave at any point without losing progress, which I always appreciate. The game also has a droll sense of humor evident whenever you pick up a Shield of Minimum Security or a Sword of Cutting Remarks. The art is straightforwardly nice and I always enjoy how the monsters chitter, cackle, or grumble as they chase you around the map. It's not quite perfect; the dwarf seems quite a bit weaker than the other characters, and sometimes I feel like the premium game is giving me more tools than I really want, compared to the tighter free experience on Kongregate. But these are largely nitpicks on a game that's been one of my favorites all year. edit: seven months later, I'm still playing regularly, and the devs have greatly improved the character balance.

Great turn based roguelite game! There are multiple game modes and you progressively unlock content in a way that doesn't overwhelm you, the artstyle is beatiful and my favorite part is that the game encourages different playstyles based on the situation you're put in. Definitely recommend!

After around 15 hours I can say this game is well worth a buy. I like games where I can take my time to plan the next move, listen to a podcast and relax. It is a tiny bit luck based, but playing the game and getting a little better each run will well negate the need for luck, and there are systems in place to make up for your unlucky '1' roll streak: +1 focus for instance, where you get a 1 added to your dice, if the monster blocks you, the next time you hit the same monster. Get blocked again, +2 focus etc. Of course there are runs you get unlucky, but I find them very rare in my experience so far. Also: throwing a '1' when you get attacked will be very good after you've progressed a bit threw the game. Good job from the developers making this hidden gem of a game. They are also on top of the comments and have a welcoming attitude towards suggestions. Quick warning: you might lose your sense of time playing the game, the hours will fly by

A great casual hex based strategic beat em up rpg, like a classic D and D one shot campaign. Weigh the options of attacking vs. sneaking and grabbing swords, bows and shields vs. counting your potions and scrolls for the dragons. No story lines to remember, just dragons to beat up, and mummies, and trolls, and those pesky firebugs. Run in the daily hunt against all other players, how many skeleton elbows can you collect in one run? 100? Inconceivable! A lot of strategy in each room, should I sneak by the orcs and just grab the loot, hoping to not be spotted? Can I take out the casters and snipers before I get clobbered? Can I handle the rain of fireballs? (p.s. if you get stuck in a rain of fireballs, you are doing it wrong). Stick around for the afterparty with the slightly charred villagers, hand out with the old timers with their dry wit, try to beat the tournament champion defeating 50 dragons with their bare hands! Good luck with that, I always try to get at least a + 7 sword and shield for my dwarf when I face the dragons. I run the Daily Hunt every day to release some stress and beat up some monsters, no sweat. I haven't topped the leaderboard yet, but my little elf was a close second with 124 Gnoll Beards. Casual fun with a bit of puzzle like strategy for each room.

Love the game. As a one handed player due to a stroke 7 months ago I like the luck and strategy that varies from game to game. I HIGHLY recommend.
